They do not answer their phones

We had a passport appointment and arrived a few minute early. The USPS was almost empty aside from the staff who did not seem busy as they were chitchatting, but they did not attempt to help us until the very end of our appointment window even though we arrived on-time. The person who finally did meet with us was a bit power trippy over seemingly small insignificant details with how we stapled our photos and folded our application. Will avoid going here again.

when I forget to purchase stamps, forget to pick up small shipping packages or forget to purchase packing tape I can always stop into mill valley post office and get these items there without the p.o. workers going postal on me at all.

Bad service, they just are good to delivery envelopes not for package; most of them are old and lazy staff; they always leave the packages lying anywhere.

Doesn't answer the phone. Doesn't open the door on time at opening. I paid for insured express mail of a passport renewal. The state department reported that my old passport (as taken by the MVPO rep) was not included in the package that was sent by him. I was told by the MV manager that I had no "proof" that the passport had not been put in the package. That it was not possible to conduct a search for the lost property. That there would be no claim possible for the supposed insurance. No refund for the postage. And, to add insult to injury, that I had to pay additional postage to now send a new application to the passport center indicating that my passport had been "lost" - even though I didn't "lose" anything. The fact of the matter is that either the MVPO or the passport center lost it. The utter refusal to provide even the most cursory assistance (to the point of rudely telling me to "prove" it was them) was remarkable. We have no choice but to use them for this process for which we are paying customers & they accept zero responsibility & offer absolutely no assistance when things go wrong.

I mailed a package in Mill Valley and it had to go to Santa Maria which is about 200 miles south of Mill Valley. The package was sent to Washington DC and then some place in S Carolina and then to Los Angeles. This took a total of 18 days and my customer who paid for what was in the package got his payment back from Ebay. I had paid $12.00 insurance on the package and the post office refused to honor any claim. Why do I think that idiot Dejoy had something to do with this.

First the postal clerks are almost always very nice and do their best. However, no one ever answers the phone anymore I have called for days during operating hours and no answer. The usps site doesn't even have clear instructions on how to stop delivery due to death or sale of property. You would think that is a straight forward matter. Then you go to their site where there are no clear instructions. At a loss you call yet another phone number which no one ever answers. This Post office used to be the best. You always got an answer. They changed Post Masters a few years ago. I think it was around 2019 or 2020. She was rude and never solved our problem. Would tell us to call back but she never answered the phone when we called her line. We had to put our bills on auto payment because for over 2 years we were not getting certified mail from attorneys that were time sensitive. The Attorneys sent us copies of their envelope addressed to our home that were marked " no longer at this address! Or moved no forwarding. Our financial interactions became a nightmare because we never knew what we weren't getting. We were at a loss. I made frequent appointments with the post master who never picked up the phone nor solved my problem at the time she designated we should call her back. Im sorry because I feel most of the postal personnel really try to be helpful, but at the change of the post master a few years ago there has been a marked deterioration in efficient resolutions. Now I'm not sure anyone has updated the information on the website. The phone numbers seem to have no one manning them.

In the spirit of fairness and objectivity, I went back to the Mill Valley Post Office the following day and dealt with a different postal clerk (a male) who was able to process my registered mail items without any difficulty.

Ricky is a true professional...He's patient, knows the systems, friendly and super helpful, navigating the passport process. If you're getting a passport or renewing one, run don't walk to Ricky...Ricky deserves an award for the "best of the bay area!"

They are kind and helpful, although under a lot of pressure it seems by always being busy. Everyone who works there has only been extremely patient and worked to get our passports, packages, mail forwarding, PO Box, etc. taken care of fastidiously as possible. I appreciate all of their hard work.

This is a horrible post office. They lose things all the time. If you have a post office box, good luck expecting all your mail there. They place things in the wrong places, and sometimes you get them and sometimes you just don't! They've lost an important package I was expecting, and they have the audacity to show it as "delivered". I see it's happened to many other people, so it's a pattern. Also some of the people there are super rude. There's one guy at the counter who is nice, but the woman with dyed orange hair is the worst, real witchy mean, and the manager is also super unfriendly and completely aloof, and very rude. Oh! And of course don't even bother to call, they're so arrogant that they never ever answer their calls!

I think the employees at the Mill Valley post office are very kind, helpful and knowledgeable. I need their services often and have always been treated with respect and kindness.
