Do not take your pets here unless you want to be taken advantage of and charged for unnecessary and unhelpful medications. I specifically made an appt with a female vet because my dog doesn’t like men. When we got there we were bombarded with a male vet and his male assistant. My dog and I were NOT happy about that. Then the guy proceeds to ring me up for a bunch of medications that she didn’t need and barely touched on the reason we were there in the first place. I was worried my pup was dehydrated because she was vomiting bile that morning and appeared stressed about it. He then went on to try and get me to agree to test her for heartworm even though she was vaccinated, and also the shots of fluid, along with 2 medications that she didn’t need at all. He then presented me with a nearly $1000 bill. I said no heartworm testing, that brought it down to $650. I figured the vet knew what he was doing so I agreed to that and it turns out he didn’t. They were completely unnecessary so I didn’t even give them to her. I’m never bringing my pets here again. They are crooks.

This entire team couldn't be any nicer! They patiently answered all our questions when we brought in our unwell kitten, including my very talkative daughter's concerns! And they also provided me for extra meds at very short notice when we ran out. Gems!

Dr. Nick Morphopoulos almost killed my dog, not once but twice by giving him 7x the amount of medicine he should have received. First his office prescribed him a human form of a medication that has an ingredient lethal to dogs. Thankfully, his specialist caught it after a few days but his organs were shutting down from this ingredient. He is alive and well but not due to Dr. Morphopoulos. Over the past year I have debated writing this but I feel I owe other pet owners this information. Owners need to know how his incompetence almost killed my baby. Other than the medication, he was unprofessional to say the least and yelled at me that he was taking time out of his lunch to speak with me. I reached out to the former owner of the vet - a family friend, and was scolded by Dr. Morphopoulos for consulting a retired doctor. Dr. Morphopoulos refused to refer us to a specialist because "that's not how it works" so after calling every specialist in the Bay Area, I found a wonderful doctor in San Carlos who took him immediately given his low levels - she was the one who caught both lethal medication doses. ADDITIONALLY, Dr. Morphopoulos performed a surgery on my parents dog - a golden retriever. What was supposed to be a very small, non-invasive incision on a non-tumorous lump, turned out to be an incision across his entire back - from one side of his abdomen to the other. After that, they took him to another vet who was mortified by the 1' 1/4" scar, said she had never seen anything like it and thought we should report it. I wouldn't send a Goldfish to Dr. Morphopoulos let alone my dog! VCA should investigate him and his practices.

I recently received excellent care at VCA for my little dog. First, I want to acknowledge the staff for their kindness and concern. Also, a very special thanks to Dr. Killian all she did for bringing my dog back to health. I would highly recommend VCA Hospital!!!!!!

After the previous vet was too busy to schedule Wally for several teeth extractions within a reasonable time, I begrudgingly took him to Mill Valley. Immediately I noticed a much more intimate and calm space then the previous location.. They even had different entrances for cats and dogs. The doctor was very calm and has a background of more than 20 years in this field.. She saw quickly what the issues were and careful how to proceed forward. And I was able to schedule his appointment literally within a week or two. That means a happier cat and a happier home!Thank you, VCA Mill Valley staff!Meow for now!

They have become my go-to vet. why? well I live in berkeley and most vets in that area are booking a couple weeks out, but I'm almost always able to get in to see the vets here a few days after I call. they also save a couple spots for same-day appointments, you just have to call right when they open. I appreciate this SO much, it has saved me tons of time and money not having to take my pets to the emergency vet! I also appreciate that you are able to go inside for your appointment and chat with the vet face to face when so many other clinics are still not letting clients in due to outdated co-vid protocols. one of the first times I took my cat here, I knew he had ringworm because he's had it before and the vet said nooo I don't think so and we lived with ringworm in our house for another two weeks before I brought him back and got the confirmation that it was in fact ringworm. BUT! they refunded me for the previous visit and I haven't had any issues with their services since then so I will continue happily supporting them. every employee I've met here has also been incredibly friendly.

Super helpful and patient staff! They’ve always taken great care of my cats and I would recommend them to anyone in the area. They follow up and make sure nothing is left unchecked and the separate cat waiting room ensures that my cats don’t become more stressed than necessary.

On a Saturday, our beagle was suffering from severe kidney failure. She was seen a month earlier at another clinic and we brought her labs for review.Despite high creatinine levels on those tests, Dr. Killion simply suggested taking more blood and urine lab tests that require two business days to receive results. Then she gave me an International Renal Interest Society brochure to look up information online...By Sunday, less than 24 hours after Dr. Killion told us our dog looked fine, she could barely walk, hadn't eaten in two days, and was in distress. I messaged Dr. Killion and tried VCA's "24/7 live chat and vet support" I never heard from the doctor and the live chat suggested I call the office when it opened on Monday morning.By Sunday afternoon, we took our dog to the Emergency Hospital in San Rafael and were told she was dying of kidney failure. She died that night, and the emergency vet called VCA to let them know. With this information that our pet died, VCA charged us $700 for blood panels that were never read and Dr. Killion never called us back. Our dogs were patients of VCA for years. The vet, who saw our dog the day before she died, who told us "she looked fine and just needed labs" couldn't even call to offer her condolences. Our hearts are broken by the actions of the merciless medical director, Dr. Killion, and her staff at VCA. If you love your pet, take them to a clinic that values empathy over greed.

Our experience here was odd. Things started out well and we were overall pleased. When it came time to have our cat neutered, they quoted us $1,100 for a cat neuter...yes, you read that correctly. I am aware that Marin county is one of the wealthiest in the country but how in the world it costs over one thousand dollars to neuter a male cat is beyond ridiculous. Needless to say we went elsewhere and paid a fraction of the cost for an excellent neuter. We also repeatedly requested this location to send records to a daycare facility for our dog for *months* and received no response of any kind. We no longer take our animals to VCA Tamalpais and recommend you don't either.

we were happy clients of the original Tam Animal Hospital but it seems it got bought out by VCA sometime during the pandemic. the new business is completely different. I'm uncomfortable with their pricing structure. I felt we paid unnecessarily more. one example is we paid ~$100 for an exam on a growth and were advised to do an needle aspiration that same day. we decided to wait a few days instead. when we did come back in, we were charged an extra $100 for a "re-exam" which would not have been charged had we done the needle aspiration on the first visit. i don't see the logic of a re-exam only days later given that our dog's condition had no change. the re-exam fee has applied in other instances when we opted to "think on it" for a short time before committing to an operation. fees for routine vaccinations were nearly 3x what they charge at other places like VIP Petcare. We worked with Dr Killian and Dr Nick. Both seem competent. We much preferred Dr Killian's bedside manner.

I came to this vet on a suggestion from a friend after having a bad experience with another vet in San Francisco. Dr. Nick and the rest of the staff including Stephanie have been very helpful in answering my questions and giving my dog good care. I highly recommend this practice and am so thankful I found them!

This is hands down the worst animal hospital I've taken my cat to. Do not take ur cat here. It used to be an exceptional animal hospital when Dr. haevernick was running it before the VCA bought it and took over. It's now very expensive and they handle cats as if they were dogs. I can't speak to how they treat dogs but people seem to be happy with them since that's where all of their 5 star reviews come from. My sentiments on the cat treatment though is consistent with the other 1, 2, 3 star reviews. Don't bring ur cat here. My specific issues with them is the way they've handled my cat during appts, difficulty to reach the front desk, and the difficulty they create for me to feed my cat. I purchase my cat's food from chewy and he's on a specific diet because he had crystals in his bladder. Per vet orders, he can eat anything in the C/D line through the Hills Diet brand. I ordered a different flavor than normal and chewy reached out to the VCA for approval and the VCA denied it. They told the Chewy representative that I need to bring him in for an appointment where it'll likely cost me roughly $100 for an exam just so they can then approve the different flavor in the same urinary care line. Doesn't make sense to me and really frustrates me because this is the only food my cat can eat. Money is tight right now and the difference in flavor doesn't justify an appt. I'll be finding another vet for my cat in the future. Again, don't bring ur cat here.

it is obvious Dr. Perez loves what she does and I am grateful for the opportunity to have Dr. Perez care for my dogs. Dog bless you.
