Not a great a experience today I usually come to this store every weekend and I seen a bag of toys and I seen that there were some little figures that I wanted and I asked the price for it (there was a price on it) but I couldn’t understand what the price was saying so I asked the man and it seemed like it said 3 pieces for 50 cents and the man that I asked went to go ask the lady in the back about the price and she put $25 which is a bit too much and I asked if I could only have the little figures that were in the bag and it was a set but some of the things that were in the bag weren’t part of the set so I asked if I can have the little figures individually but they refused and the man rudely wouldn’t let me speak he kept saying no no no the set is expensive but I didn’t want the set I wanted the figures that weren’t part of the set. I was very upset because I only wanted the little figures.

I used to live on this street and I would stroll into this store from time to time. My experience was always pleasent even if I didn't find anything. The store was organized, the people that worked there were friendly and the prices were reasonable. Today, I went into the store and I was appalled by the prices. There was a popcorn machine that they were selling for $50 dollars. I don't care if someone, somewhere on ebay or some e-commerce site is selling it for that price. That doesn't make it a good practice for a brick and mortar thrift store to charge as much as possible for every item. It seemed like anything that was a brand name or of antique value, they tried to charge as much as possible to match the going online rate. At this point, I would imagine that customers would be driven to make purchases online versus going into the cute little thrift store. Before the Pandamic, prices seemed reasonable. Now, they seem absurd. It's unfortunate.

I love this store, but lately they are over pricing you donates items, Just because you looked it up on eBay and it was priced high, doesn't mean it SOLD, for that much. Mount Carmel thrift shop, helps people in need, correct? Since Covid hit and I being a senior, my only income was and is reselling, I consider myself in need. When items in your store are way over priced, that's not helping me or others in the same situation. Please show a little compassion to your buyers because we contribute to your store as well. Thank you.

I've been coming to this store since I was 10 years old and always found cool knick knacks for a good price. I've been on the hunt for a few new film cameras and figured they would possibly have some here. I went in and asked if they had any film cameras and the volunteer working there showed me to a back room with a pile of old cameras. I sorted through them and found a few I was willing to buy without testing in hopes that they even worked. I assumed they would be cheap, as I've never spent much on anything at Mt. Carmel. I picked a few at random that had buzzwords such as Zeiss lens, which I know are quality lenses. When I go to check out, the volunteer working there lets me know that the woman that prices is not in and to leave my name on a shred of paper with my phone number. I do so and leave, without hearing a word for a few days. I then followed up a few days later as I was only in town for a bit. I am told I'll have someone follow up with me soon. The volunteer that originally showed me the cameras then calls me up and tells me he looked up the value of the cameras I chose (which happens to be worth hundreds of dollars, which was not to my knowledge). The volunteer plays a cat and mouse game of calling me for days on end (sometimes early in the morning) and texting me without giving me a solid price on the cameras I originally was interested in. He was looking for a few hundred for these cameras which were not tested, and had no way of being tested. It felt super unprofessional on the volunteers part. I felt excited and got my hopes up that I found a great camera to take on my adventures at a decent price, as I recently have gotten back into photography. I am bummed that it ended up like this, and I hope he makes the money he was hoping to from someone on the internet instead of someone thats been going to Mt. Carmels for years.

There are some designer items here priced at $5 or less. Upon walking into the store, the clothing section doesn't look that exciting but if you dig through it, you'll find some high quality items at extremely cheap prices. Maybe you'll even come across what I did and have a laugh! 4 stars because they don't accept cards.

Almost hesitate to spread the word, but it is too much of a well-kept secret. My best friend and I go here every month of two and stock up on all kinds of goodies, but mostly clothes for me. Overall the clothes and the jewelry are in great shape and well-priced. It is fun to seek and find all the treasures, and well worth the visit. The workers are all very helpful, too, managing quite a few of us crazed shoppers at once ; ) Thank you all for making such a nice shopping experience for us gals. We have been shopping buddies for going on 40 years and this is one of our real faves!

This place is my new all time favorite thrift store located off a side street from downtown. It has an array of items and although a little bit dusty, it is very organized. The ladies at the front counter were very pleasant and I spent less than $20.00 for a bag full of new treasures!
