759 E Blithedale Ave, Mill ValleyβI have been with Citibank for 30 years and although its become highly impersonal, I must say that Deborah Ward, the manager, is great. She has helped me numerous times in dealing with Citibank bureaucracy, getting a substantial home equity loan, and overall a very nice person.β

βRichard Montoya brought a ray of cheer to my momβs day. She was having a hard day, he sat down with her, and walked her through the steps to fix some issues with her account. He took extra time to talk with her and connect at a personal level sharing his own stories. It was just what she needed after struggling with the website and online banking. COVID-19 is especially hard on the elderly and it means a lot when the bankers go above and beyond to help.Great job to the mgt of this branch and especially Rich!!!β
βHard to find and lacks ledge space. There is nowhere to endorse the check you might be there to deposit. The actual space number is 229 where BofA says 230. It's behind Mike's Camera and about 200 ft straight out the door of High Tech Burrito.β
βIt turns out someone/somehow got a hold of my debit card and compromised my checking account. Ugh. Ironically, I discovered this while trying to pay for groceries at Trader Joe's. I kept swiping my card and it wouldn't go through. While I was scratching my head trying to figure out why payment wasn't going through, I received a text message from Bank of America. They were notifying me of suspicious transactions on my account, and they wanted to verify that I had actually made these purchases. And until they hear back from me, they're going to put a hold on the debit card. Long story, short... I called up BofA's customer service to get to the bottom of all this. We were able to weed out my actual transactions from the fraudulent ones. They immediately suspended my current card and put my new card in the mail (which should arrive in the next 2 business days). In the meantime, they directed me to my local Bank of America branch to secure a temporary debit card. And that's how I wound up at this Mill Valley BofA branch. Although I didn't make an appointment, a banker (Blesilda was her name) helped me right as I walked in. Within minutes I was out the door with a newly activated card, and now I'm able to spend money again. What a relief! Blesilda and BofA really came to the rescue and I'm truly appreciative for their service. And in case you were wondering (and I doubt you were), I was still able to buy my groceries at Trader Joe's (just with a different card). : )β
βI've been with Wells Fargo since I left for China in 2012. They had an agreement with ABC Bank in China that allowed me to send funds back and forth which turned out to be a life saver more than once. Also they came to the rescue several times when I had trouble getting a refund from venders who were being difficult, not every time but generally more than not. Getting money out of an ATM machine has made my life on the road possible in China, Malaysia, and now in Mexico. I had a personal relationship with my reginal manager, an Orthodox Muslim, who went way out of his way for me until his boss put a stop to it. On balance, I feel fortunate to have Wells Fargo at my back. They're not perfect but at least they don't steal money out of your account like they did in China and in Malaysia they won't even let foreigners open an account.β
