This stay is a total steal if you get it. Located conveniently right in the middle of Yosemite park entrance and Mariposa town. The cabin was very clean and the toilets were absolutely clean. The prices were very reasonable for the quality of the stay. It was overall and fun place. I'd recommend to anyone visiting Yosemite. And although we didn't get to eat at the June bug cafe inside, we heard it's good. But they do have a strict timing for the food they serve. I think lunch closes before 1 pm and dinner begins at 6 pm.

Booked a two-night stay here for a last-minute trip to Yosemite in April. Lodging was comfortable, and each of the cabins have a unique theme. Do note that the picture you see on the website of the cabin you book may not be the cabin that will be assigned to you at check-in. We booked a cabin that we thought was craftsman in style and instead got a cabin that looked like Grandma's house...lace and rose patterned wallpaper. Not something I would have chosen. When we asked about this after seeing the cabin, the response was "yeah...the cabin theme that you booked doesn't even exist anymore". We were able to switch cabins the second night, and got a fun Steampunk themed cabin. I think they should play up the unique themed cabins and update their website to reflect current offerings as we felt this is what made the place stand out from the standard hotel offerings nearby. There is a communal kitchen if you want to bring your own food, or you can choose to dine at their on-site restaurant - which was wonderful! The menu was inventive for what you would expect of the area, and changes daily. Portions were HUGE.

CHARGES EXTRA FOR SERVICE ANIMALS. The owner Doug was a real j**** TYPICAL insecure MAN barking at the women in the office. I have a service animal and he demanded proof. Which is illegal on the federal level. Doug insisted I stay in a dog friendly room, which was fine, until I checked into the room and it smelled like a gym locker room. The heater was loud and did not work very well. I was told "can't do anything, that that's how the heaters all sound."Which is ridiculous! no heater is that loud. The decor in the room looked like free furniture people set out on the side of the road. There's nothing cute or kitschy about the rooms. also on one particularly cold evening I stepped into the lodge to sit in front of the fire and I was drinking a vitamin water. I was immediately confronted by an older woman who told me I would need to finish my vitamin water outside of the lodge. I was flabbergasted as to why I couldn't finish drinking MY bottled water in the lodge. And she said it's because they "don't allow outside food or drink". These people are real nut jobs I would not stay here.

We had our wedding at The Bug in October. It could not have been more perfect. Having lodging, catering (food and alcohol), and the venue all in one made it so easy. Caroline was great to work with, so attentive and helpful. All of our guests (even the skeptics who didn't want to "camp" for a wedding) were floored by the quality of the cabins and food, and many said they want to make more trips to The Bug now that they know it's there. Having a wedding at The Bug was like having a village of all our friends for a weekend. It was so much fun, I wish we could do it all again. I cannot recommend The Bug highly enough; I'm sure we'll be back many times in the future.

Super sick non-chlorinated pool. Came in at 9:05 and was never “kicked out” at closing time, just a gentle reminder. Don’t miss the cold shower right next to the hot tub.

This review is for the starlite house. Kitchen is as complete as could be. There is a camp style bbq grill outside. A great range and stove to cook on and the house has good ventilation. Cooking here was a good experience. No dishwasher, I couldn't find A sponge but did find a dish towel and soap. The house has great water pressure. A very large LG TV with Netflix, also there are multitude of games in the cabinet underneath the TV. The beds were very comfortable Bats fly over at twilight. I'd stay here again. Pick up a trail lunch or take out breakfast from the cafe starting at 7am, we did not but the convenience is awesome.

They were so accommodating the whole time....with attentive staff, great food, and lovely atmosphere! Wonderful venue and many of our guests report they will be coming back to stay again!

I have nothing but amazing things to say about this Spa. The space is gorgeous, exceptionally clean, and truly a hidden paradise. The tub was immaculate, warm and relaxing. The sauna was well maintained and incredibly rewarding. The bathrooms were to die for. The staff was friendly, helpful and attentive, and provided us with everything we needed. We will be making Yosemite Health Spa a stop on every one of our Yosemite trips and i strongly suggest you do too.

Quaint and comfortable stay just a 50 minute drive from Yosemite. ~Location~ This resort is located up in the mountains and has multiple options for different types of rooms ranging from hostel-type to shared bathrooms to private rooms. We opted for the private room with a bathroom and enjoyed it. ~Rooms~ We were assigned the Glacier cabin which comes with an attached bath. We shared a wall with the cabin next door but did not have any complaints regarding noise or sound. Cabin- 5/5: clean and comfortable room. There was a refrigerator included in room which was super convenient for snacks. One of my favorite things were the hot showers. Nothing like a nice hot shower after a long day of hiking. They also had a fan and AC unit in the room which worked perfectly. Bed- 5/5: The bed was comfortable and I felt like I had a pretty decent night's rest for being away from home ~Parking~ They have a few parking lots and depending on how full it gets, you may need to park on the sides. We were there for labor day weekend and parking did get pretty busy during the weekend rush. ~Staff~ 5/5: Friendly and accommodating staff ~Food~ 4/5: On site restaurant for quick meals and coffee in the AM. We enjoyed two dinners at the restaurant. They have a daily menu that is robust in options and caters to all food types ~Check In~ 3/5: I wish there had been an email or further instructions on how to find check in office; we were a little lost in the beginning when locating the office for check in and spent some time roaming before we were able to find it. ~Amenities~ They have a spa area with a hot tub, yoga room, sauna which we did not use but looked clean and promising. ~Pricing~ 4/5: Relatively affordable lodging compared to some other options in/near Yosemite Overall, I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay while exploring Yosemite.

My family and I had the pleasure of staying at this hostel for 2 nights. I wasn't sure what to expect when we arrived, but I was blown away at the following: * Cleanliness of the entire establishment. * Very well stocked toiletries, such as shampoo, conditioner, body wash and such. * Spa was very tempting and looked beautiful.. even thought we didn't use the facilities. * The food was AMAZING! Better than many restaurants we have frequented. * There was an option of a "trail lunch" that was very hardy and delish * Staff was always happy and accommodating. * Kitchen was very orderly and well stocked with whatever you would need to cook. * Great bargain for all the amenities and location. I would definitely go back again and enjoy all that you his hostel had to offer. You will not be disappointed with booking a reservation! Do it and enjoy the experience like we did! Susan H.

When you read the name of this place, there is cause for concern, so don't take the name lightly! I'm terrified of bugs, but since options for hotels were limited for our visit to Yosemite (either expensive or far from Yosemite), we decided to give this place the benefit of the doubt cuz why would you advertise that there are bugs in your rooms?!?! We stayed in one of the private rooms (Bear A). During our stay, we encountered 3 bugs in our room (2 spiders, and 1 bee). One of the spiders was on the bathroom ceiling, so we couldn't reach it to kill it. The other spider was in the shower. The bee was also in the shower, but it was already dead in a puddle of water. For fear that the spider would fall on our heads while we were in the bathroom, we asked the lady in the front desk if they could provide a ladder or have someone come in to kill the spider. The lady in the front desk said the maintenance guys were out, but she was able to get one of the cafe guys to come assist and kill the spiders. Thank goodness for the hero who came to rid our room of the spiders. He truly deserves a medal. Here is the breakdown: Room overall: 1/5. Our room was Bear A. There were lots of marks and stains in the room, so it definitely wasn't the nicest room ever. The room was also quite snug and on the small side. It had two twin beds, which were very creaky and not very comfortable. The room also has a private bathroom. Bathroom was quite small, especially the sink since there was barely any surface area to put your stuff on. There were bottles of what I am guessing were body wash, shampoo, and conditioner, but the bottles weren't labeled so I have no idea what I put in my hair and on my body. As I mentioned before, there seems to be a bug issue, since we came across 3 bugs in our room in the span of two days. Even around the outside of the cabins (on the deck and the stairs), there were lots of spider webs. It would be nice if this place tried to at least clean the outside of the cabin a bit to prevent bugs from entering. Parking: 3/5. There were two parking lots. If you park in the lower lot, you have to walk up an incline in addition to stairs to get to your cabin. The upper lot is harsh for the car since it has gravel. At least parking is free Wifi: 3/5. Free wifi, which is a must because there is no service here. Wifi isn't the fastest, but it works Noise: 3/5. No major issues here, but since the cabins/rooms were close together, you can hear some noises. Service: 5/5. Service here is quite stellar. They do try their best to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The staff is very friendly, and the front desk lady went above and beyond to find someone to take care of the spider problem. The cafe guy who killed the spider also went above and beyond. Accessibility to Yosemite: 3/5. It's about 40 ish minutes to the entrance of Yosemite, but there's a section that is a one way road, so traffic is stopped to allow cars to take turns on the bridge. This causes delays so the drive to Yosemite will likely be longer, closer to an hour drive. Overall, if it weren't for all the bugs in our room, I would say our stay would have been a solid 3/5 stars (even with the small rooms and uncomfortable beds), but the bugs situation was really disappointing.
