Rooms: Stayed in the Hummingbird Cabin.Roomy, one-room studio with a bathroom. Plenty of light, except in the bathroom. Kitchen has modern equipment and is well-stocked with plenty of dishes and cookware. The bed is very comfortable, and the cabin has a central heating/cooling unit that works well. There was an odd smell in the cabin - possibly stale air, but it seemed to come from one of the large rugs. Not enough of an issue to ruin the stay.Would stay here again if the chance presents.Nearby activities: 45 minutes from Yosemite National Park

It's an excellent resort. The rooms come in different categories. You can have a cabin for yourself or a warm cozy tent. The resort is surrounded by mountains so the views are awesome. If you rent a tent then you might have to share the restroom which could be cumbersome.

We stay at the Bug when visiting Yosemite. The rooms are comfortable and have different decorative themes that make them interesting. The service people are friendly and the location just 45 minutes to main entrance to Yosemite is great. You can drive or take a bus into the valley. The lodge provides great meals for breakfast and dinner, including vegetarian choices. Desserts are outstanding.

Easily most affordable accommodation near Yosemite. Stayed in the female dorm style room and was impressed with the cleanliness of the room and the bathroom. The cafe on site is convenient for breakfast and grabbing a bagged lunch to go

We had a great stay here. The price and location are great, making it one of the few places that is really affordable and conveniently near Yosemite. We travelled without a car and easily reached the place using the reliable YARTS service, going into the park each day and coming back at sunset - worked a treat. The rooms are basic and that's what you'd expect, but the more expensive ones are nicer. The dorms are fine, although to be honest they smell of damp climbing socks (hardly surprising). After that we had a tent cabin and this was a real treat - felt like our own cabin in the woods, very cosy and warm, and silent at night. We'd definitely book one of these again. On site they have the June Bug cafe which does very decent food and drinks including alcohol and hot drinks. Prices are reasonable especially considering you're somewhat isolated.Cooking facilities are good, the kitchen is small but very well thought out with three complete zones (i.e. three cookers, three microwaves, three cutlery drawers etc) so quite a few people can cook at once. I only wish there were some more comfy seats to relax in the kitchen dining area (without having to go to the cafe for this).Staff were great - actually I only saw the guy doing evening check-ins in the office but he was very welcoming and friendly. They also have a very useful mini shop with toothbrushes, pain killers, suncream etc and it's cheap.Walkability: Steep hill across the site, some accessible parking and roomsFood & drinks: Great on site cafe

This is an amazing hotel the people are so kind and accommodating, and I really like the community aspect of it. Unfortunately it takes about 45 minutes to get in and out of the park, and that was during the off season. It's a windy road and it's honestly probably better to stay inside the park, I know that it is not as cost efficient... But even if you just spend one night inside the park at a hotel. But I absolutely loved everything about this experience and I have already recommended it to a ton of people. There is the shuttle service that will take you under the park for free, and this year you didn't have to pay the park entrance, which in hindsight would have been better with all of the roadwork going on.About bug rustic... They have a charging station for your vehicle, games and activities for socializing, and an amazing spa and health center... And can we just talk about the food and the hikers lunches That avocado sandwich I'm still missing it. Rooms: I stayed in the private queen with bath... There was a mini fridge in the room... But you could use the main guest kitchen as well.I didn't even feel like I was in a hotel room, it was decorated amazing tons of storage... And accessibility for tech charging as well.Nearby activities: There's ping pong, foosball, and open pit fire and grill cooking stations. There's a guest kitchen that is fully stocked with pots and pans and everything you can imagine, a cooler but no freezer. There's a hiking trail on site, yoga studio and sauna with soaker hot tub... And massage when you schedule it ahead of time.Mariposa is a very cute old school town, with some of the best coffee shops and locals that you ever want to meet. If you're up for the adventure about 45 minutes down the road is another really cute town that I would highly recommend, and you got to drive literally on the side of a mountain.Safety: I felt very safe in the environment. In the environment.Walkability: You are literally on the side of a mountain. If you have any issues or handicaps this is probably not the right place for you.To catch the shuttle into the park, you will have to walk down and then back up a pretty steep hill... But if you are a hiker and somebody that is physically fit to walk around Yosemite it's probably not an issue for you.Food & drinks: The junebug Cafe is one of the best restaurants in the area. What I really appreciated was that they offer a packed lunch for anybody that's going into the park.Noteworthy details: This is a resort that is built on the concept of community and being social. You could literally spend the entire afternoon on site enjoying the various activities. And it's budget conscious.

I'd recommend coming here for food, but not for accommodation. Maybe as a last resort. Food has always been exceptional here.Cabins look the same as 10 years ago. And I dare say there's little to no maintenance.Cabin doors don't fully close. Screen doors are broken, which have no purpose. Super noisy fan which probably keeps the neighbours awake. Airflow isn't great. Floorboards are super loud when walked on, good luck sneaking out for the toilet.Showers have warm water not hot for 3mins, then turns to cold. 10 minutes off to restart. But toilets have boiling hot water. No drinking water sources except for at the kitchen.Food at the kitchen is mostly good. Sometimes weird combinations; vegan bread with meat toppings. Cakes are expensive but akways worth getting.Management are only available 2 days of the week even for staff to contact them, so any additional enquiries may be a struggle especially if you're already staying at the site.

Rooms are nice. Lots of stairs. No wheel chair access despite what the people here think is ADA compliant. Restaurant food is OK, just mediocre. Limited parking, you may have to park a ways away and hike up a hill.An hour away from yosemite.Safety: If you're in any way impaired, Don't stay here. Almost every room is a climb up dirt hills and stairs. We talked to an employee about being ADA compliant and he pointed to a room that only has 4 steps and said that was compliant.

I stayed here during my trip to Yosemite and really enjoyed the vibe. The staff is so friendly and helpful. I stayed in the girls dorm, while my roommates were all nice and accommodating, the room had no ventilation and was stuffy because of socks or something. I do appreciate the bathroom being super clean. They also have yoga and a hot tub that I wasn’t able to use this time. Overall, a lovely experience and would love to be back!

Just felt perfect to stay at Yosemite Bug Rustic Mountain Resort on a Yosemite mountain trip. Exterior rustic cabins situated on the hill. Inside the cabins was clean and warm. Wish I had more time to enjoy the resort and June Bug Cafe. I had a good time here a few years ago. This time I arrived late and had to leave early for Yosemite. Glad I could have my morning coffee to go when June Bug Cafe opened at 7AM.
