Hmmmm…. Where can I start. We booked this hotel because it was a “Marriott”Property and thought it would have been held to a higher standard. We also needed a suite with kitchen and this was the only one in the area that offered that. My mistake for thinking the most expensive one in the area would have been better.Location: Conveniently off the freeway, but it’s in a crappy industrial area with cranksters everywhere. Only fast food like MCD, BK, KFC and Starbucks nearby. There was a questionable taco truck, but based on the lack of foot traffic, I wouldn’t chance it.Rooms: We got the Deluxe King Suite. It was tiny. And the entire room smelled like piss.I’m wondering if I got the “pet stay” room or something because the carpet and couch smelled like urine with a hint of cigarette smoke. Sure it was “non-smoking”… The sink kitchen sink faucet was loose and leaked. A few of the electrical outlets were cracked and exposed. I’m sure it’s not up to code. And the bathroom was dirty with mildew and crud in the corners.Stingy with the towels two! They gave us only 2 sets of towels. Had to call and request more.Free continental breakfast sucked too compared to Hampton Inn.Overall, it was a poor experience. Not what I expected. Hilton properties are way cleaner.

Truly a home away from home, clean, quiet, accommodating, very attentive and responsive staff, excellent amenities.

Everything is great except the loud traffic noise on the West side of the building. I’m a heavy sleeper and I was still woken up several times by the large trucks and other loud exhaust vehicles driving by. Very frustrating but next time I’ll have to ask for a room on the other side of the building.

We had a nice room with 2 queen beds and a kitchenette. The kitchen had a 2-burner stove, near full size refrigerator and a dishwasher. It included a table and chairs which makes meals more comfortable. We faced the freeway so we had muted road and rail noise which was not loud enough to be bothersome. One note: we had no ice bucket so we had to use a saucepan. Also, no sharp kitchen knives.

No one manning the desk upon arrival. No warm welcome from the female front desk agent. She was talking to someone on the phone using air pods. She didn't provide any information about the hotel (amenities, hours, parking, etc.). There was no conversation of any type besides my name and credit card. Handed me my room card and didn't provide any directions to the room until I asked. Will never recommend this location to anyone.The room was as expected, except it had ants in the bathroom. Hotel seemed to be in good condition.

So as of now I’m just going to wait on the general manager Sean to get back to me to see if he can correct this situation. This happened this morning October 23 , 2023 at 10:00am . I literally just got out of the bathroom and looked on the bed. I thought it was a roach, but it happened to be a bedbug. This is the first time in 15 years of traveling I’ve ever seen a bedbug in my life never had situations with bedbugs. It was literally crawling on the pillow.This is a far more serious situation because I also have pictures of my skin being swollen from the bites, it is 14:00 ? right now and I still feel like something is crawling on me. I just happen to have to wash clothes this morning and they were in the dryer as was the rest of my clothes. None of my clothes were in the room that I had with me besides, the clothes that I had on which were on the floor I do not think that bedbug can travel from the floor to a bed onto a pillow king size bed between 12 and 15 minutes ( this was shower time) I am now waiting to hear back from corporate. until Sean (the general manager at this location ) gets back in contact with me

I sent this message to the general manager of the hotel.My wife, Grandson and I stayed overnight Saturday, October 15 and were impressed with your property - despite the key issue.The room was very nice and the common area well appointed but the best part of our stay was your staff. The young woman at the front desk is a star. I observed her interaction with a very disgruntled and angry woman and she was great. Listening to the complaints several times and patiently explaining her room was not ready (it was only 2:00) over and over. She was super friendly and helpful with me during several visits to the desk to get someone to open our door. The cleaning and other staff who opened our door for us were very friendly, accommodating and apologetic for the key situation. Yesterday (Sunday) morning the young woman managing the breakfast was terrific too! She seemed to be everywhere at once, helping, refreshing, giving instructions for the waffle maker, cleaning etc. As with the other staff she was cheerful and friendly. My 10 year old grandson said this was the best hotel breakfast ever!Please thank all your staff, especially the front desk and breakfast ladies!Rooms: Clean, well appointed and spacious.Food & drinks: Excellent included buffet breakfastNoteworthy details: Great staff!

Absolutely the FILTHIEST hotel I have ever been to. Was supposed to stay while on business but it was so dirty I had to check out. Lots of homeless people roaming the property. Some even came into the hotel at breakfast time. They were always roaming the parking lot. The hotel is next to the interstate and it is VERY noisy. They are doing road construction here so that adds to the noise and makes for a dusty environment. The train tracks are also right at the property which also contributes to the noise level as well. There will be NO good nights sleep here. When I checked out I left my iPad and charger in the room. When I called to make arrangements to pick it up the lady who answered the phone was VERY rude and informed me that I could NOT retrieve my own belongings back till the manager returned. She was supposed to have called them to see if they would come and give it to me and call me back. When she didn't return my call I called her back and she was even more rude and said the manager never returned her call. This went on for two days with this same RUDE woman. Finally the manager decided to return to work and I had to speak with them to make arrangements to receive my own property back. I thought I was going to have to call the police and press charges to get what was MINE. I am a top tier rewards member who has spent tens of thousands of dollars with Marriott. When I called Bonvoy to see if they could help me with the issues I had with this hotel (cancellation of reservation due to the filthy establishment and to get my property returned) I learned that Bonvoy can do absolutely NOTHING to help you at all, ever. What good is it to be a top tier rewards member if you get nothing for it? Marriott is the WORST! I will NOT be using them anymore. I left their nasty hotel and am now at a competitors IHG hotel. At least they appreciate my business! I would avoid this and all other Marriott hotels and spend your money with a different brand.

Working in the Merced area there is not a lot of clean hotels offered. In the past four years TownePlace has always been clean, comfortable and the staff very friendly. I just completed a two night stay due to work and found the room a little dingy. The staff was very friendly as usual; however, when I arrived at my room I noticed that the closet had sticky liquid on the floor. I quickly cleaned it up and began to get settled in for the night. The carpets needed a deep cleaning but was bearable. Late that night I noticed a few ants in the bathroom, not a lot so I decided to bear it until the next morning. While heading to work the next day I spoke with the front desk about the ants. They stated their apologies and promised to have someone look into it. After a late nights work I came back to the room exactly the way it was left in the morning. In the past visits I have only stated one night so I assume they do not offer housekeeping? This morning I noticed that the ants were worse due to the trash not being emptied. Upon check out I reminded staff there were ants in the room. The were very apologetic about the ants. I have always enjoyed my stay in the past but I may need pass on this location in the future.Hopefully TownePlace will once again be a good place to stay for business.

Stayed 2 nights in a row on separate reservations due to a change of plans. Staff was great both night. The first night, the room's bathroom was filthy. Second night, room was very clean, but was missing light bulbs in most of the lights in the room.

Decent rooms good service. Our chair and ottoman looked old and dirty needs to be replaced other than that nice room with kitchenette.

Room was unclean, dirty bedding with ants eating old food stains on the bedspread. Found a dead cockroach behind the bed. Unfortunately the staff can’t do anything because they’re at 100% occupancy.

Blew in from Denver , had a little issue at check in but worked it out with the staff the next day. Great room , I'd like to see a small but cozy hotel lounge. Maybe make a kick back deal with the 2 other surrounding but competing hotels.
