I faced my cross-country move with trepidation - no, terror. I researched movers and quickly learned that you can't really compare quotes - for example: one major mover was a lot cheaper, but charged a fortune for insurance! And when you check the reviews on any of them, you'll find horror stories.I learned something else - the local agents on either end matter more than than the national brand. And most local agents have terrible reviews.Except for this one. You'll see many positive reviews that mention Abby - and they are all true. She was patient with my questions, very responsive, and gave me what I felt was honest and sound advice. So I decided to trust her.She and her crews were amazing. If you were to imagine the perfect move - it still wouldn't match my experience. The crews on both sides (loading and unloading) were amazing - fast, efficient and obviously careful with my property. The auto transport went perfectly. They beat the promised delivery times on both the car and my property - by days. There was nothing missing and no damage. I'm still in shock as to how everything went exactly or better than promised.Mind you, they aren't cheap. But they were worth every penny.

Pool's Moving and Storage is a first class operation. I moved from the Bay Area to Houston and the folks at Pool's took care of me at every step along the way. Abby in the office was cheerful and very responsive. She even answered my texts on the weekend. The packers were incredibly professional and worked nonstop to load up all my belongings. And finally, my cross country driver, Reuben, called me multiple times to let me know exactly when the truck would arrive in Houston. He and his men unloaded at my new house in a few hours. Reuben even called me on his way back to California to see how I was settling in. I cannot recommend this company enough. They will make your move easier than you expect!

Moving. Always stressful and a lot of work. We left California for Idaho with an interim months long period in the Midwest while new home was being finished. Shopped multiple moving companies, found two that made us comfortable (nearly same cost) and settled on Pool's Moving and Storage. Move happened in October 21 with household goods placed in storage until delivery in May 22. Team that did packing and move to storage was outstanding. Four experienced gentlemen who were competent, careful, and pleasant to work with on this outbound leg. Not sure how items were stored but delivery in May was also outstanding. Again, four experienced gentlemen who accomplished delivery, including reassembly, of various furniture in six hours. Still unpacking but very, very little damage noted. The linchpin on this move was Abby from Pool's who coordinated everything including pricing and timing for both pickup and delivery. She was super responsive throughout the move and a pleasure to work with. This was an expensive move but again, right in line with other options we explored. Pool's honored (important t word, big compliment) all of its quotes even with the substantial increases in fuel prices that occurred between pickup and delivery. So no downside surprises. Quality of service was high across the board. Worth it and definitely would use again.

Talked to Abby Cade. She was very responsive and professional. Detailed when giving me a quote too. While I ended up not picking any professional mover (decided to sell my stuff and UPS/check in luggage essentials, it was overall a very good experience.

The movers were on time, were extremely professional, and worked efficiently. I had some big items of furniture and they handled those items without a problem. Upon arrival, I worked with the crew to get everything where I wanted them placed. They obviously knew what they were doing and everything arrived in great shape. I was very satisfied with them and would not hesitate to recommend this company for your moving needs.

This is now the second time I've used Pool's Moving & Storage. Unfortunately, this move was to move my dads stuff/motorcycle cross country to me after he passed away. It was and has been a delicate process for me. Abby, I don't know if you'll see this, but from the deepest part of my heart, thank you for the patience & kindness you showed me while I was going through this ! She answered all my questions & she was also very prompt to respond! She adjusted as I made adjustments & never made it seem like I was a bother. It made a sad experience, better because I trusted his stuff was in good hands! I would use them time & time again, no questions asked & I highly recommend them! Thank you to the whole Pool's team!!!!

TL/DR: Find another company. I struggled with whether to write a review but six months later I am still disappointed with the service received. From the beginning: the weight estimate was incorrect (this after a list of items, virtual inventory and in-person inventory). I was not charged the difference but only 2 movers showed up which slowed down how quickly they could pack. For a move from CA to VA in February, I expected some delay due to COVID and weather. What I did not expect was a MONTH delay due to the truck breaking down- TWICE- and for the mover guys themselves (not Abby-Pool's or Vickie-Allied) to tell me. Thank goodness I had the sense to capture everything over email, as my delay claim was initially denied claiming a mechanical delay could not have been foreseen. Seriously? Multiple mechanical delays on the same truck absolutely could be foreseen. I never did get the $500 reimbursement for a month's worth of food purchases and replacing households items. Final straw- they broke the handle on my guitar. Of course I didn't notice it with the initial unpacking but I did request special wrapping/packaging for it. Save yourself the headache- find another company.

We reached out to Allied Moving for a move from the Bay Area to Vancouver and Pools was the agent we were put in touch with and who oversaw our move. It turned out to be a disaster from beginning to end - a week before our moved date (booked at least 3-4 months prior) we were told they didn't have a driver available and so changed our move date to sooner. Then we were told our stuff would be moved out, moved into storage, reloaded once they had a driver which we weren't happy about since the accountability is lowered with no consistent responsible party and goods being moved multiple times in and off trucks. Moving day arrives and the "lead" on-site informs us any wrapping or protection that is done will be removed as they need their blankets etc back and redone by whoever takes the stuff out of storage. Then the entire customs process is a nightmare - we can't get a straight answer from Abby or anyone at Canadian dispatch on the paperwork process - it was so stressful and clear that Abby at pools was not on top of the process. Driver informs us after checking out the delivery address that he will not come Down our street (which is not that small) and that shuttling is not worth it - "they don't get paid enough". Allied/Pools sends a team from a local vendor that gets HORRENDOUS reviews. The movers are 2-3 late (no call), borderline rude and unhappy about their job. Zero inventory was done (which is their job) and multiple pieces of furniture were broken and some left unassembled (but made to look like they had been). Our bed was left with parts strewn all over the floor under the mattress. To top it off, the movers used a toilet, clogged it, didn't tell anyone and caused over $15,000 damage due to flooding. We are still flighting allied on the insurance claim for all of this, months later. We submitted a survey about our dissatisfaction with this nightmare of a move - ZERO follow up from allied or pools. Worst company ever. Run don't walk. We've moved internationally twice before and had very few issues.

Abby and her team provided a great experience from start through packing/loading. The attention to detail during the bid and planning as well as the follow up was great. The packers and movers were prompt, courteous, respectful and friendly. They used all the COVID protections and also placed runner and pads in the home to protect that as well. Overall we are extremely pleased and would recommend without hesitation.

Pool's made a very difficult move easy as could be. You can imagine what downsizing looks like after 40+ years of marriage and moving from 3,300 sq ft to 2,100. We had a ton of stuff even after giving away a lot. But it was time to move to our retirement home and get out of the Bay Area. After hearing the horror stories, we knew we wanted a firm quote before we did our move from Gilroy CA to Santa Maria CA. We talked with Abby who sent out a person to walk thru our house. The quote was HUGE. I talked with Abby and said Are you sure he didn't over estimate? She assured me that everything looked correct. She made me feel comfortable with with quote and the procedures. I called a couple of times with questions and she was always available (even on her days off I later found out). On the day of the move, the team showed up right at 8:00 am as planned. We walked thru the house and showed them what was to be taken. They surprised me by how much they took apart the furniture to make it safer to travel. Legs came off the dining room table and my office furniture. Sofas were wrapped in moving blankets and then shrink wrapped to protect them. Assembly parts were bagged and labeled. You could tell this team had worked well together before. After lunch, my wife went out into the garage to box up the items we hadn't gotten to only to find the team had already done it. (Much to our relief as we were running low on energy). By 2:30 pm, two trucks were loaded and head to the new house. Nothing was left behind (even the extra garbage can of trash ;-) At 8 am the next morning, we all met up at the new house as planned. The off loading started. I was fearful that we'd never get everything into the garage as it was smaller than the old house. These guys are Tetris experts. Everything fit in and there was still room to work. Inside the house, all the furniture was reassembled and put right where we asked them. We're still unpacking boxes a week later but we've yet to find one item that was damaged in transit. Everything arrived safe and sound without a mark. There was no horror story here. Only very satisfied customers who really know the meaning of "You get what you pay for". Thanks to the team at Pool's Moving & Storage!

Moving out of state from a 2,100 square foot house, I had much trepidation. Prior to contacting Pool's, I contacted two other movers. One called from 300 miles away and wanted to do a video tour to give me an "estimate". (I think he was a broker.) The second sent two people out, and although I explained in detail what I wanted, I got a lowball quote with hidden fees alluded to in the fine print. (What is a "partial pack"?) So I took some good advice and contacted a big name mover - Allied. I was put in touch with Pool's. What can I say? They were superb in every detail. The onsite evaluation was professionally done. Abby, the owner, was a joy to deal with. The three movers (Hector, Sal, and Robert) were timely, VERY competent, efficient, and went well out of their way to meet my needs. I guess I could go on, but the bottom line is: Go with this mover for a stress free move that will exceed expectations.

Moving across country, from California to Georgia, was monumental in and of itself, and finding the right moving company was imperative. I'd heard nightmare stories before, including those regarding items "held for ransom" until a higher-than-agreed-on price was paid, and decided to go with a highly-rated, reputable moving company. So, we went with the #1 rated company, Allied, and I'm so glad that we did. The four-man group of movers assigned to us were incredible - I have never seen men engage in such a high level of team work before. And Abby was incredible - she literally answered questions, via email, 24-7 - doesn't that woman sleep - and made us feel so comfortable with the anticipated move and confident with our decision to go with Allied (which contracts with Pool's.) The "packing" day was a long, 10-hour event, from start to finish, and these guys kept their spirits up throughout the entire day. They disassembled, wrapped, and loaded our furniture and other possessions in a most caring manner and boxed up items that we hadn't gotten to yet. I think what impressed me most, in addition to the seamless manner in which the men worked and moved, was the fact that one truly "gets what you pay for." The men were professional and extremely personable, from start to finish, and although my husband and I tried to stay out of their way, there were times when we clearly hindered their forward motion, yet not once did any of them express frustration or unhappiness. Delivery to our rented storage unit in Georgia was even smoother than the original packing, both of which required the use of a smaller truck to offload our belongings to and from the huge semi, due to size constraints. When we met up with the "team" a couple of days ago, and about 9 days after the move, we all greeted one-another like old friends. We are beyond grateful for the outstanding service provided by Pool's Moving and Storage and Allied Van Lines. Deciding to go with Allied was absolutely one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life.

SAVE YOUR MONEY - Pool's charged me nearly $9,000 for a fairly straightforward 2/3 bedroom move from San Francisco to Seattle. It seems like nearly all of our major furniture pieces in our home was significantly damaged in this move - we had to throw out our dining table (covered with dings), they lost a leg to our sofa and it was covered with black dye, they ripped the arm off a loved desk chair and lost the feet to my desk. The ruined bags and shoes by packing them poorly and left lamps and desks crooked and shaky. They lost some of our favorite glassware, and we are thinking recently that our beds have been damaged too. For this, to date Pool's have denied all of my claims and given me ~$250 in compensation, despite photos proving damaged goods and a lot of arguing back and forth with them and their awful insurance arm. I have spoken at length via email with Abby Cade, owner of Pool's, and there has been no real help given to remedy this situation. Pool's also showed up to deliver my goods at the last possible minute before they owned me compensation, 5 days after my target move-in date and at 3pm on day of move in (leaving at 10pm), just barely getting my goods in the door before they would have to pay me late compensation. I would NEVER go with this horrible moving company again, and I can't believe they are represented under the trusted Allied banner.

The best movers ever! My move was a relocation from CA to WA through Allied who contracted with Pool's. They sent an Estimator to my home who walked through the entire home, garage & storage areas reviewing everything with me for an accurate estimate. I packed myself except for larger items, lamps, & artwork which Pool's packed the morning of the move. Not only did they stick to the binding estimate which was reasonable, everything was picked up on time, quickly and delivered as promised. Every item accounted for and nothing broken, scratched or anything. The crew on both ends were amazing, careful, respectful and nice! The driver checked in 24 hrs before delivery to confirm arrival/delivery. Abby Cade was the Agent assigned to my move and checked in frequently before & during the move providing excellent customer service and ensuring my needs were taken care of and making the move as stress free as possible. You can't go wrong with Pool's! Thank you Pool's for a job very well done!

Oh My - I do not know where to start. We selected Allied ( Pools) because of Abby. She was the most responsive person I have worked with I quite some time. Little did I know that she owned the company. Having that level of communication and one stop shopping was incredible. She is flexible and accommodating. When making a move, she was with me every step of the way. That was HUGE! Then when the team showed up, they were excellent, funny ad organized and made things look easy. I am storing with them for quite a while, until my new home is built in New Mexico. I have every reason to believe that things will go smoothly at the other end. Kudos to Abby Cade
