If I could give zero stars I would! We booked a reservation 3 weeks ago and even received text and email confirmations. We went to pick up the car today to find out that this location is closed permanently!! We got no phone call or notification letting us know and we are leaving for a trip tomorrow. Thankfully Enterprise was able to get us a car and the process was very quick and the staff were very nice!! I highly recommend Enterprise.

I have never felt so mistreated by the staff anywhere in this country. I rented my car for a UC Merced business trip at SFO and drove it to Merced. When I made my reservation, I selected 4 pm as the drop off time at Merced and my rental agreement showed that there is a 29 minute grace period for the drop off. However, when I got to the office at 4.03 pm to drop off my car the office was closed and there was a sign at the door with a new schedule due to staff shortage that was stating that the new closing time was 4 pm. Unfortunately, this earlier closing time was not advertised in the website, and I was able to select 4 pm as my drop off time. One of the staff workers was outside the office and she told me she could not accept my car because it was 4.03 pm and she finished working at 4 pm. Because this happened on Friday and the office closes during the weekend I had to keep the car during the whole weekend and ended up paying triple for my rental. So, I am wondering... why was I able to select a 4 pm drop-off time if the office closed at 4 pm? The supervisor of this office should definitely work harder on this.
On top of everything, when I went to drop off the car the week after and I showed my disappointment with how I had been treated, the same girl from the staff did not support me at all, was not able to answer my questions relating to inconsistencies between the drop-off times and the closing times and made me feel as if it was my fault because I arrived at 4.03 pm instead of before 4 pm (when I did not know the office was closing at 4 pm and I have the 29 minute grace period to return the car!). Even when I asked her if she would have picked up my car if I got there at 3.58 pm she responded she would have not because that would mean that she would have had to work after 4 pm. When I tried to make her realize of this inconsistency, because I chose a 4 pm drop-off and she was telling me she would not have accepted my car at 3.58 pm, she just remained silent. Of course her supervisor was on a medical leave so I could not talk to him. All she was able to provide me with was a phone number from customer service that I need to call to submit a formal complaint.
I have never felt so mistreated in any other place. Apart from the inconsistency of the office schedule and the drop-off times, the staff, far away from supporting and trying to help me, were defensive and trying to blame this situation on me. I am a UC Merced faculty member and I will make sure to advise my UC Merced coworkers and students to never go to this Hertz office for rentals.

Wasn't happy that I reserved a vehicle then the counter lady said they didn't have the vehicle I reserved. They also wouldn't take a debit card.
This time I reserved the vehicle for a certain date. They didn't deliver it then

Myself and another person have been waiting here to drop off the cars. He has been waiting since 11:30 and another person had been waiting since 11:00. Tuesday May 27th. The sign says someone will return at 12:30 p.m.

Had an amazing experience with this location, Amber went above and beyond. Not only did she locate a Tesla for us when no one else could. She picked us up when we couldn’t get a ride to the office. Her professional customer service and bubbly personality made our stressful situation better. Thank you so much Amber for great customer service!! 10 stars!!

I reserved a car for 9:00 AM and paid in advance using my credit card. When I arrived to pay the deposit using the same card, the staff claimed they couldn’t authorize the payment—even though it had already worked for the booking. I even called my credit card company, and they confirmed there was no issue with my card. Despite this, I was forced to use a different credit card, and they handed over the car almost an hour late, without any apology or explanation. Completely unprofessional and frustrating.

TLDR; Short staffed, ill worker was closing early, got there earlier than reservation, waited 30 minutes to get to counter and was out with a car in 10 minutes.
NEED MORE WORKERS AT THIS LOCATION & RELIABLE RELIEF FOR SICK WORKERS.
I got a call at 8 am, from the only person working at Hertz. She says that she's ill, she needs me to come in early, and she'll be closing at 1 pm. My reservation was for 2 pm. I get there and it's 12:45. She comes out of her car, says I took my lunch late, I'll be able to help you at 1 pm. So 15 minutes later I go into the office and there are a few people ahead of me. She wasn't feeling well and she showed up to work. She was having some authorization issues,which wasn't her fault, but her manager didn't seem to want to help her over the phone. She hasn't been working there very long, she didn't have anyone to relieve her, and no one to help her with the cars. I've never seen this place with only one person on site.
I was waiting for 30 minutes before I was helped. My reservation in the system was wrong, they said I reserved a standard sized car. I showed her my reservation and it was for a standard SUV. She then says she only has a Nissan Kicks, never heard of that car before that day, but it looked nothing like a standard size SUV. It could pass for a compact SUV. I ended up renting a RAM 2500. She helped me as quick as possible. I was at the counter, went outside to look at the available vehicles, and completed the rental spiel, pictures and all in 10 minutes. I was surprised it didn't take that long. Amber's customer service was great, considering she was sick, she was the only one working, and she had to deal with shenanigans from the other customers.

LOCATION CLOSED!
Arrived to pick up rental. Nobody there. An hour on the phone and the 4th corporate agent informs us this branch is permanently closed. Showing open on website. Where do we get a car? No help at all. Thoughtless customer service. No notification sent to us. Still have an open reservation to drop off a car there in a few weeks! Called two neighboring city offices. Phones disconnected. Nothing for 60 miles. Absolutely disgusting experience.

Is it just this Hertz or every Hertz that takes 2 hrs to get a car when there are barely 4 people waiting. Absolute waste of time. The agent Deniece Wiggins was just chatting with a customer for 30 mins leaving all of us infuriated.

Denise is RUDE! If I could give them 0 stars I would. Two reservations cancelled because they don’t have cars AND they couldn’t take us because we were 9 minutes after our reservation. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE FOR YOUR CAR RENTAL!
