Same issue.. mine after I got it back I took it to EXTREME TRANSMISSION in Merced got my car back like in 3 days . great communication with the guys there..

The old mechanics from the AAMCO here in town are working here, still scamming people and not doing correct work.
The same mechanics scammed me on a transmission/clutch replacement a few years ago, found out they charged me for work that was NEVER done.

It’s a good spot, I had a issue resolved but I give the 1 star because they are always gone, and don’t answer their phone. They do call back which is a plus. I went three times and nobody was home in the early hours even though they are listed as 24/7.

Damaged side fender of my c10 when I took it in to get transmission work. Tried to deny damaging it and took way to long to have it fixed. I would never take a vehicle there again.

Took my Range Rover for them to put a new transmission in and he didint know what he was doing he messed up my car my 5th and 6th ratio is incorrect now. He is not answering my calls or text messages now and every time I go to the shop he’s never working. He also said he was going to take a day to fix it but took longer then a week.So if you don’t want your car messed up don’t take it here. Took my money and gave me a messed up car. He is a thief and a scammer don’t waste your money or time

I called this shop trying to get information on pricing originally called about a transmission repair and the price was not bad that’s isn’t a cheap repair going in so his pricing was more than responsible. He also offered to cover the tow. Then we had another vehicle broken down, two of our vehicles broke down with major issues. The truck was a blown head gasket. They don’t repair those but they do full engine repair/replacement. He educated me on the benefits of replacing it, that’s the price of repair rather than replacing is somewhat close to price. That it’s more worth it to replace with a warranty than repair the gasket. U could come across more issues. He answered all my questions with good detail and was very friendly, just the phone call has great customer service.

John & his crew at both American Transmission & Ernies Transmission are absolute miracle workers. My husband & I were having a hard time getting any kind of progress done at another shop down the street (West Coast Tire & Auto). WCT&A took nearly two months to diagnose a failed smog code & nearly another month to do any additional work despite having the part in their possession. We desperately needed our truck back for various reasons. One of them being that because WCT&A took so long, we started incurring registration penalties (yes, they knew!) I called American Transmission & spoke w/ John. He told me he could have our transmission installed the same day! John is a man of his word & worth his weight in gold. John & his crew of transmission technicians works more in three hours than WCT&A did in three months! John & his crew at Ernies Transmission worked a miracle. They had the transmission in & back to us w/in the same day! Blew our minds. We definitely recommend John & his crew at both American Transmission & Ernies Transmission.

Ernie is full of crap!!! I called him and told him about what my truck was doing, gave him the make and model and he said to bring it in. I took the truck in and he said that wasn't the truck I told him it was. It's my truck I know the make and model. I was like ok maybe it was just a miscommunication.He convinced me he could fix it in three days and he would call me the next day to tell me what the problem was. Two days went by no phone call so I called him and he said he hadn't started working on the truck but he will get it on the lift the next day. Same thing waited 2 more days and nothing from him. I called again to see what was going on and he acted like I was bugging him and that's why he hadn't started on the truck. But same thing he said he would start it the next business day. Ok I'm getting the run around by this joker. Another week goes by I called him to see what's up and again he still hasn't started working on the truck but he said he was putting it on the rack while we were on the phone. I got off work and drove by just to make sure it was getting started on and it was still parked on the street so I took my keys and took my truck elsewhere. He is a liar and will tell you anything just to get you off of the phone. All could have been simple if he would have just told me the truck was too big for his shop and that he didn't have time to work on it. I would have been fine with that and just taken it somewhere else. He just waisted two weeks for nothing. And this is my daily driver.

This guy couldn't even do a good clutch job on a Mustang BorgWarner.He put the cheapest parts in and charged premium prices.Quite full of himself.

Went to the shop today and Ernie the owner first said he didn’t speak Spanish which is totally fine so we spoke in English then I asked if he could fix my car and he said he didn’t fix BMW’s and I asked why and he said bc the people that have those cars can’t afford to pay to get them fixed and we could barely make the Payments. My car is totally payed off thank you!!

Ernie and staff are really nice, friendly and explain to me information I needed to know about my car. I like to get service in the town I live in and I will be going there for transmission needs.
