I've never had too much of a problem till recently. Occasionally they'd instantly stop my credit card for purchasing things online which was annoying. But overall I generally found them helpful. While I understand people being tense because of Coronavirus. I was basically setup for failure today. I called a weeks ago on the phone and was told it was okay to go in. I came today and the front desk told me to go to the bank. When I get there the door was unlocked so I open it. I get an extremely hostile lady berating me that I can't be there and the door should be locked. She tells me to leave my checks near the door and to leave. I also explained the ATM wasn't taking them and she said I was wrong. Apparently she knows more about my life than I do? Anyways, this was terrible customer service and many things had to go wrong for this to happen. First off, lock the door if you don't want people walking in. Secondly, have the lady in the main office informed and warning people rather than telling them to go in. She treated me like a terrorist even though it was likely her fault for leaving the door open.

They have an extremely friendly staff. Their online app is great, so I do almost all of my banking through the app. I love the card valet app, which allows me complete monitoring of my credit card.

On line VISA information is very difficult to get. And if they suspect fraud they shut down the account without any notification. This can cause very messy problems especially when the 'fraud' is only an unusual charge and totally legitimate.

Fantastic little Credit Union. I have to be honest here, I'm shocked that more people do not use Credit Unions. They are really superior in most way to a conventional bank. Credit Unions for a lack of better term are in theory like a labor union except this is for banking. Typically they represent a group of people like say the U.S. Navy, or other commercial business. They are 'Not for profit" thus tend to offer better rates to their members in terms of savings and loans. They also are much much smaller so they may only have one branch (many have more). Such is the case for SRI Federal Credit Union. It serves the employees of SRI International in Menlo Park, CA. While it does only have the one branch it more than makes up for things in terms of interest rates and customer service. ATM's are not an issue. They belong to the Credit Union COOP which allows withdraws at other CU ATM'S. You can use any for that matter and they reimburse whatever fees that particular system charges which makes travel easy. Customer service is also excellent. The tellers are well trained, friendly and personable. When my father passed away Chris was phenomenal in helping us navigate the handling of his accounts and made the whole process really easy. It was a tough time for us and not having to hassle with a typical banks typically poor service was invaluable. The only issue with the CU, is that again its small. They have one branch and its closed during a chunk of the Christmas to New years time frame. It also requires a stop at security and a badge before you can proceed downstairs to its location. But with ATM's, ATM deposits, online banking, photo check deposit and the like the number of times you actually need to go the branch are really quite limited.

The best financial institution anywhere! Excellent customer service, low rates, great web site, great products, great advice and plentiful services. This credit union is the best example of how customer service ought to be. It is consistently obvious the customer comes first.

Best small Credit Union ever! For almost 20 years, I've banked with SRIFCU domestically and overseas, done wire transfers with currency exchanges, used its debit card ever since it became available, and managed my accounts online and via mobile as well as using traditional methods. This is all the more amazing considering that SRIFCU itself consists of one branch in the basement of the SRI International complex in Menlo Park, CA. Yet it has a presence and state of the art tech of a much larger institution. I know my money deposited with SRIFCU is going mainly to finance loans to people I know, former co-workers. This is important to me. Lastly, whenever there's been a glitch -- usually simply something not worked out -- the CEO Steve Bowles and his team are always available to help out and go the extra mile. I wouldn't bank anywhere other than SRI Federal Credit Union.
