We were looking for several rugs for our newly remodeled home. I found one that I loved at Istanbul Rugs by searching online - I had an idea of the colors and size I wanted. I went into the Menlo Park store and showed them the one I was interested in, and they had it sent over in a couple of days. When I came back, they had that rug, which was great, and then we looked at many others for ones which would complement it in other areas of our home. Nothing quite worked for me, so Hakan said he’d look for more and let me know when to come back. A couple of weeks later, he called. We came in, and he had found several rugs which I absolutely love, maybe even more than the first one I found. He did a great job of understanding what I like and finding rugs that are beautiful and work well together. They are just gorgeous, and very high quality. He also took an old rug of ours and cleaned and repaired it for no additional charge. It looks so much better! I really can’t recommend Istanbul Rugs highly enough. I will definitely go back whenever I am ready to get additional rugs. Five stars!

Ogi at Istanbul Rugs was great. Not only did he do a no-obligation, in-home estimate to clean our two rugs, but he provided a detailed explanation of their cleaning process and how their work compares to others. They do charge a bit more, but it’s worth it as the end result is beautiful, especially our Hereke rug purchased in Istanbul. Thanks Ogi!

Really impressed by the quality of the rugs as well as the service I received from Ogi. He was very friendly and assisted me in purchasing several carpets for my home today. I would highly recommend this place and I'll definitely be back.

Beautiful showroom and lots of quality rugs to choose from. We let the owner know what we were looking for and he picked out exactly what we wanted. None of this flipping thru every stack of rugs and not finding the right one. They brought the rugs over to our home that day and we bought the one the owner selected…he was right on. Great service and knowledgeable about the product. They make rug buying easy. I definitely recommend them.

I ended up Not placing an order but wanted to say how impressed I was at the polite service I had from all the staff especially Mehrmet. At no time was I pressured to buy. This respectful demeanor means I have no hesitation in recommending them or going back there when I feel more ready to buy. I so like this “old school’ way of treating customers.

Hello, dear friends, I wanted to tell you that considering that I lived in Los Angeles for several years and I know all Iranian and non-Iranian carpet sellers, it's been a year since I moved to San Hoza, and I got to know the carpet shop in Istanbul, really many carpets. They have new and old carpets at a good price. I bought two Tabriz carpets. They are very good, with better original colors. They even have Iranian employees in their shop.

We highly recommend Istanbul Rug! Cem is responsive, very dependable, and highly observant/sensitive to one’s style preferences. Hamid repaired the fringe on my 15-year old Persian rug—it looks brand new! And the rug cleaning service brought all the original colors back to new. I couldn’t be happier. I’m also extremely pleased with the 17’ hall runner we purchased. It transforms the space into a place to BE, not just pass through. The beautiful runner coordinates perfectly with the other, older rugs in my home, and that is due to Cem’s experienced aesthetic. He knew exactly what would work! Again, Istanbul Rug is THE place to purchase new rugs, as well as for caring for any fine rugs you currently own. We recommend without reservation!

Addendum 9-22-23The edge of one of our rugs that we purchased here a few months ago became frayed. So we called Istanbul Rugs if they can fix it. They agreed but mentioned that it was frayed because of the vacuum cleaner. Ogi came over to pick it up. He took one look at the rug in our family room which we purchased months ago and mentioned it was too small for our room. He said he could take our rug back and give us a bigger one. I wasn't really prepared to change our rug because we went over so many rugs that they showed us until we found the one we truly liked. Ogi said he can bring rugs to our house so we could choose. We were looking for a blue rug. A few days later he returned with 3 rugs and laid it out on our driveway because they were so big. I said only 3? Hakan showed us over a dozen and I only chose one! Ogi mentioned that he doesn't sell rugs like that and he already had an idea of what we like. Of course I rejected the first 2 rugs but the 3rd one seemed interesting. So he and his assistant took the rug in and laid it on our family room. My husband liked it a lot but I said keep it here because I'd like to sleep on it. Ogi gave his price which he and my husband kept negotiating. By the end of their negotiations, the rug grew on me and I agreed to keep it. I told Ogi that I was disappointed that Hakan sold us a smaller rug and he should have known the proper size for our family room. Our family really liked our new rug and all agreed that it is much better. Thank you Ogi for your expertise and helping us decide on a better rug! It really brightens up our family room!

Ogi is so friendly and helpful. No amount of carrying rugs in and out, shifting about furniture and discussing various choices is asking too much. Plenty of honest explanations of his recommendations without the more common hard-sell pitches. He convinced me to replace a factory-made rug in my dining area with a more colorful hand-knotted rug and I couldn't be happier. I strongly recommend working with Istanbul Rug of Menlo Park before selecting the integral floor covering to shape and enhance your chosen decor.
