I was meeting my client at this BMO location and I walked into a vacant lobby. One of the tellers called out to me so I went over and explained why I was there and what my client & I were needing to get done. The young teller was short and curt in her responses and told me the bank manager or "banker" wouldn't be in until noon (it was around 10:30 at that time.) I asked if she could help and she just said no. She was not at all polite, helpful and interested in providing any help. She didn't even ask, could I have him call you or set up an appointment, nothing. I would suggest that branch do some customer service training or just close the branch. Doesn't appear to be "good business" to have customers walk into empty space and tellers that do not know what customer service is. Maybe the other branches are better at servicing their customers, but this one should not be included.

Horrible. I wanted to write a review for BMO. This branch was empty and they couldn't help me. I was SOL. If you are considering opening a new checking out... DO NOT! At least read my story first.
I signed up for a new checking account (online). My initial deposit was declined/ rejected 3 times. The account I was trying to transfer from was suspended as well. I called BMO customer service between 3-4 times totaling 2-3 hrs speaking with different people. We would start the transfer and after a day or few hours, the transfer would be rejected. One rep told me I was transferring too much money. When have you heard a bank complain about receiving too much money? How much did a transfer? 1K... that was it.
To add insult, I received an automated e-mail from BMO saying they would close my account if I didn't make a transfer soon. Each rep I spoke to gave me a different reason. One disconnected on me and never bothered to call me back after waiting for 30+ minutes. I decided to cut my loss and open a account at an established location, WF.
One of my deposits did go through. I went to this branch and wanted my money back before I closed the account. The in person rep said he couldn't do anything right now because he needs to talk to his boss. He said the online thing complicated things. The rep said he would call me back and let me know what the issue was. No callback.
As I type this, I am on the phone again with BMO customer service. I have a simple request, give me my money and close the account since my online transfer attempts are canceled for my protection...
The rep said there are fraud alerts on my account so I couldn't get my money. Yes, you read it right. BMO is protecting me by NOT giving me my money. I always knew to stay away from Bank of the West but I should have known that slapping BMO over Bank of the West would not fix anything.
One more hour on the phone today to solve nothing. I ended up going to a physical branch to close my account.
Open with caution.

I was never happy with Bank of the West but it's hard to believe another bank could be worse. BMO's acquisition of the Bank of the West has taken the bank to a new loan. I closed an account but they still charged a monthly statement fee after the account was closed. Nine months they have still not credited me the $5 fee plus interest. I'm trying to transfer funds international thru a payment service which they flag as fraud. I keep indicating it's not but you can't talk to a live person to get anything resolved. If you're thinking of changing banks don't come to BMO.

Fantastic customer service and I am not even a customer! My daughter needed to exchange $ to some quarters for her college dorm washer/dryers. My current bank was closed, so we asked a few banks in Menlo Park and every one of them seemed to delight in saying No. Bank of the West (now called BMO) was the only one that helped her out in exchaning a roll of quarters cheerfully! Really appreciate it and she'll be opening an account there.

It's impressive how bad this place is. I didn't know it could get this bad. Had to go here a few times to help my elderly parents and the works are impossible to deal with. They treat their customers so badly that they constantly have fights with people. We've decided to take out their money and use a new bank. That process should be super fun lol, but it will be worth it to never have to deal with this bank!

Horrible customer service here today 5/6/2022 the teller and manager wrote a note about my account I seen part of it before she covered it up and when I asked what they wrote she said it was internal business. They wouldn’t let me withdraw my money and told me I needed to tell them 2 days prior to. Well that was never mentioned when I opened the account. And told me to “look it up” when I asked for the other branch’s number. I’m definitely closing and doing business elsewhere.

Fantastic customer service here. Friendly and helpful, shows real care for customers. Was quick and easy to set up my bank accounts even though I'd only just moved to the United States. I also love their commitment to environmental sustainability.

This bank has the absolute best customer service I have ever experienced in my 60 years of banking. These employees go above and beyond to give their customers a stellar experience in the financial world. In my opinion the employees genuinely care for and about the people who come in to the bank. They seem to recognize us as friends, not just customers.Personally, first time in my life I actually enjoy going into the bank.It is a pleasure to witness and experience people at their finest.

Wow, this place is seriously the worst. I came in with a billing issue, and they lied to my face, telling me they would "investigate" it and get back to me. They didn't. When I called back, they insisted I was lying that someone from there tried to help me solve the issue, saying "we don't do that." Pretty unbelievable.

I had the best experience at this branch. I had a really bad day, but when I entered the branch, I was greeted with smile. I had a few issues with my account and it was easily taken care of. I got out of this branch with a smile on my face.

Should be called "Bank of the Worst." I set up a business account and it has been nothing but frustrating from beginning to end. Today I finally shut down my account with the biggest smile plastered on my face!

The ATM machine at this branch does not take cash/ deposits. Only though a envelope deposits. Last time I heard about envelope deposits was about 10 years ago. What generation are we in? Every ATM should accept cash deposits. Especially after the branch is closed.

When I signed up for my checking account it was for 100 years free and now I get a letter saying it's not going to be free anymore unless I meet one of following criteria. It hasn't been 100 years, I'll move my account, can't trust a bank that does business like that. Unbelievable, say anything to get business.
