I really wanted to find a deal here or some great merchandise that would warrant the higher prices. I did neither.
PRO:
- Close to other thrift stores in the area
- Beautiful store
- Well organized
- I like a thrift for a cause
CON:
- Pricey ($14 for a puzzle?)
- Small childrens/toys area
- No furniture
- Limited hours
SUMMARY:
If you're looking for a bargain you might not like this store. But if you're ok with supporting the cancer society for an inflated price than this is your store

Used to be a great store but prices have been raised to truly absurd levels. It's all for a good cause, American Cancer Society. I donate items but I stopped buying here.

Avoid. They priced silk scarf for about $12 so I tried them on and after volunteer stand next to me said "she will repriced " if I am interested to paid more than 100% mark up. I said not for that price. This is shitty don't you think ? This is store which received free stuff and where people look for bargain and also for purpose to contribute for a good cost . I am just disappointed and disgusted. I really feel not to even go in this place anymore. It just feel not right. I don't have scarf but they lost a devoted costumer which contributed a lot. I feel like shitty used car dealer place which like to sell so they have a great store number, doesn't matter of lying.

I call this the "high end thrift shop". You can find some nice things but kind of overpriced most of the time. I grew up on second hand stores and very aware of pricing. Most people who shop at thrift stores are on a limited budget, like myself. Sadly cannot always afford some of the items due to overpricing. I realize it goes to a good cause but still disappointing since everything is donated after all.

Love the cause for this thrift store. However, not sure who's pricing these items. I saw some Corningware plates and mugs. Each plate was priced at $8 and each mug was priced at $5. I'm a big fan of Corningware and Pyrex dishware. In fact, I have the same mugs and plates at home. I bought the mugs brand new, directly from the retail store for $1.50 each, and a new plate for $4 each. Imagine my surprise when I saw this thrift store's pricing. I totally understand that rent is probably expensive... but still. Everything is laid out nicely by category with lots of room to move easily across the shop. Volunteer staff was nice. I hope that if I visit again in the future that pricing is more fair.

Was hoping to find mens pants. Very few. Lots of other interesting stuff. Penzies spice store across the street. Very nice staff people. For a good cause.

I find this store of second hand items to be somewhat overpriced on particular items and it makes me question why. Otherwise it's a small business with overall friendly staff and carry some antiques that could be a valued jem yet to be discovered. Not exactly the hotspot that I often visit when I'm in Menlo Park, but a good mix up to see if it's even worth buying and ensure to research if that item is overpriced or discounted as it should be.

Terrific shop for a great cause. Wonderful staff too! Great values and merchandise- runs from funky to classic. Pick something unique up, find a great value on or find a great value on highly quality value and support a great cause!

This shop has some really nice high-end stuff but prices are all over the place. Shein sweater for $32? Come on! Even brand-new I’d be like $15 at most. This is not ok.

I popped in here after going to another used clothing store next door, and there wasn't too much of interest. What few good pieces I came across were quite overpriced, as others have stated. There just wasn't much selection, which is fine if you live nearby and can drop in regularly (I don't).

I love the Discovery Shop stores and always want to support ACS, so I visit whenever I am nearby. Hit up the Menlo Park location for the first time. Lots of inventory at this one, in a small space. I left empty handed, I think I was just overwhelmed by the volume of items. I saw several things that I was interested in, but didn't pull the trigger. They have a lot of beautiful pottery right now and some high end mid-century decor pieces. It was kind of crowded when I visited, so I didn't take the time to really browse. I hope to go back on a slower weekday. This location really gets a lot of traffic!

Things have changed and I've gotten older. I now do like more of the items. Since then, have purchased some things. The prices are higher than your other thrift shops, and that's because it's going to cancer research. It's something you just have to purchase with intention of doing good, not to try and get the best deal. Do plan on staying a repeat customer when in the area.
