We engaged Abbey Carpets in Menlo Park to give us an estimate for hardwood floor refinishing and new carpets. Once the estimator, John, arrived at our home he said: "these hardwood floors will need to be replaced, they'd been refinished too many times, and they were of poor quality." I said, "we've had a few estimated from floor refinishers and they said, 'I'd be no problem to refinish them." He said, "well, call them." I said, "since your here, give us an estimate."The estimate came in at over $20,000 for carpets and modest quality synthetic floors to replace the wood.Since then, we've had the floors beautifully refinished and high quality carpets installed, all for less that $9,000 by other providers.Abbey Carpets in Menlo Park staff are disingenuous, dishonest, and focused on themselves; not the customer.

I highly recommend Abbey Carpet & Floor in Menlo Park, in particular John Christianson, if you want the highest level of customer service and assistance. He is extremely knowledge regarding all the flooring and will quickly pull out the best ones to match your needs; this saves tons of time from weeding through all the samples. He is always positive and patient and will answer all your questions and always responds quickly to calls and emails. I am particular and need to spend time exploring all the possibilities, so having a salesperson like John is a treasure. Also; the store is excellent and has a very large variety of flooring to choose from in addition to carpets; such as vinyl, laminate, hardwood, tile, etc.

John was very flexible in scheduling the removal of our old carpet and the installation of the new carpet giving us some time to complete some work in the room prior to installation of the new carpet. Both the removal crew and the installation crew did a great job and were very professional. John was also helpful when we were trying to decide which carpet to purchase. Great overall experience. I would definitely recommend them.

Good selection and very helpful, expert advice. He was patient with our many questions. He also offered solutions that were cheaper.
