I recently adopted my two year old Akita, Keiko, from A Passion for Paws and I couldn't be happier with the experience. The team at this rescue is truly passionate about their work and it shows in everything they do. They were so helpful throughout the adoption process and made sure that Keiko found the perfect forever home. I highly recommend A Passion for Paws to anyone looking to adopt an Akita. In the past 10 years we have adopted 2 dogs from A Passion for Paws Akita Rescue. The most recent one was 2 years ago when we adopted Milo from their location in Romoland during the pandemic. The staff was very helpful. We brought our other dog with us, an American Bulldog mix who is dog selective. It was important that we find a mellow male that would get along with our alpha female. Milo ended up being the perfect dog. He's half Akita and half German Shepard and was smart enough day one to know that Tigger would be the alpha. He knew right away how to get along with her.What is really amazing is that we have had rescued Akitas for over 20 years and during that time we've seen Akita rescues come and go in southern CA. A Passion for Paws has been around the longest. Probably at least 15 years. This shows they are a rescue that can be trusted. I highly recommend them.
