I wanted a good telescope but more entry to medium level and not expert, and not spend a fortune. They took the time to show us the spotting scopes and a Celestron and explained the capabilities. They showed us a traditional scope that inverts the image and another that does not and also does not reverse the image, so up is up and left is left. This is good if you want to use the scope in the day. They also explained the camera features, focus and panning. They set it up with an eyepiece and we looked at road signs and boats a couple of miles away. We got an excellent sense of its magnification and clearness and resolution. We bought it and they explained more about how to take phone picture with it. They took the time to answer all our questions and explain a lot of things about it. Then we shopped for great educational toys, etc. for the grandkids. The staff really helps and gives no pressure to buy. We were very happy with their help and with our purchase.

I loved this place! Dog friendly! I brought my kids here and they loved it as well! I hope to return with my wife of 6 years to show her the store as well as the beautiful view right outside.

I ordered a pair of binoculars during a bird fest and when they arrived they just didn’t work for me. I also ordered a harness which was too difficult for me to use with my arthritic hands . They were absolutely stellar in their customer service and I mailed everything back and they reimbursed me. Unfortunately I am without a new pair of binoculars right now but I can speak very highly for how they stand behind their products.

I would like to acknowledge the best retail service I have ever experienced from Eva, John, David and Marilyn for being so accommodating. This is a type of store I would gladly patronize over Amazon or B&H Photo even if I had to drive 4 hours to get to. Especially to Eva for making note of my phone questions and setting up the accessories and competitors to the binocular model in question. Their binocular brand selection is the best I have ever seen including the “BIG THREE” of Swarovski, Zeiss and Leica. Absolutely a “pilgrimage” and “iconic” store to go to for stellar service and selection of products. I absolutely love my camera but was absolutely shocked at how much more I use my new found Swarovski toy when hiking and biking. Thank you so very much ? Not sure how else I can convey how thrilled I am of your guidance.

Marilyn and her staff are the best! We go in every year or so for binoculars or associated gear, and come away with wonderful quality, very affordable equipment. I always ask what they recommend that I don’t have. This time it was a simple harness to hold my binocs, and here I am, whale watching and can see the whales breaching easily. Great field of vision balanced with power in a lightweight Nikon binocular. I have them on my harness, ready for the next amazing sight. Thanks Out of This World! It has made a “World” of difference!

My old pair of binoculars disintegrated because they were cheap garbage from a department store, right before my vacation in Mendocino county. So when I saw "binocular sale" I went inside this store immediately. The salesman suggested I take their demo pair outside and look around. I was sold on the pair I picked out immediately. The salesman (sorry I didn't catch your name!) knew I was buying them, but insisted on showing me every cool feature on the binoculars I was buying. I think he's just genuinely a nerd about optics and loves birdwatching. I figured I was overpaying, but was willing to buy this pair at this store so I could have it for my vacation. But when I checked online to assess the damage, I found that I'd paid less than I would have online. I wish I lived around here so I could come back. Great store, absolutely pop in and check it out.

Recently traveled to Mendocino on a vacation, highly recommended, and stopped in to browse the store and was really pleased with the range of educational and informative products at reasonable prices that they have. Bought a number of items and the staff was incredibly helpful and gracious. A must see for everyone including kids, or older folks having their second childhood!!!!
