This is a really good jewelry store. The service was exceptional. They listened to my wife and provided us with some really good choices. The pieces are really unique. I doubt that you will find the same thing anywhere else. My wife ended up choosing a beautiful pendant and the staff were able to shorten the chain for us. There is a wide range of items at different prices but the service really adds to the value. I would definitely recommend.

We love the Mendocino coast and we have looked and shopped in this store before. All their pieces are unique and beautiful. We found some diamond stud earrings with help and absolutely no pressure from Judy...'just try them on'! We will be back!!

Judi and the team at Mendocino Gems are absolutely fantastic. They were so kind and welcoming and helped me find the perfect pieces. Their selection is incredible, I highly recommend visiting whenever you're in the area.

I can't believe I haven't already written a review about this place! I've been visiting their shop for years. Staff and owner are consistently kind, knowledgeable people who clearly have a love of shiny rocks just like I do. And they are so friendly and welcoming. 10+ years ago when I was a college student living off of near-nothing, my friend and I would go road tripping up to Mendocino for a weekend. Staff were always welcoming, let us try things on, and basically didn't make us feel like grimy window-shoppers. Nothing has changed as far as how they run things, I just get to spend money there now. They have a broad selection for most any budget (high or low) and I have spent many happy hours here and have some wonderful, higher quality and unique pieces. I even bought my wedding jewelry here. Highly recommend.

What a lovely space! Judy was a delight - warm, kind and welcoming. She had a beautiful selection of jewelry, including some great vintage pieces, and no pressure to buy. Highly recommended!

We popped in on a Sunday afternoon with our 5 year old daughter, and the staff was very warm and welcoming of her! They helped her pick out some beautiful and reasonably priced pieces of polished stone - one heart-shaped rose quartz, and one piece of labradorite. There was lots of stunning jewelry at this lovely little shop, and I look forward to returning to do some shopping for myself! :)

Came here to window shop and ended up looking at bands to go with my engagement ring. The ladies here brought out about 7 different rings for me to try on. I found one that I loved but was unsure about us making the impulse buy. They suggested I take pictures, told me no pressure, and to come back anytime if we were ready to buy it. I was back about an hour later :) and she told me they had saved all the rings I was trying on on a separate ring holder for me to see again when I came back. So sweet. They really gave me the attentive yet patient care that every jewelry store should have but is hard to come by. So very happy with the customer service and my new ring.

I really do not want to leave this review, as this was one of my favorite jewelry shops in California, but since I have been left hanging, I feel I have no choice. I came in on January 30th to get myself something nice, and found a gorgeous ring that was on sale. After trying it on, and falling in love with it, I was still undecided, but the woman working there told me that I could put it on layaway. I was still a bit unsure, but she told me that, “If you change your mind, you can always come back or call us.”, so I went ahead and put $400 down. I had been doing quite well with sales as an artist, and assumed I would have the remainder paid off in a month. Well, the storms came, and three of my shows got cancelled, costing me quite a bit of income. Then my cat went blind overnight, and I had to spend over $400 to get her bloodwork, special kidney food, blood pressure meds, and home IV treatments. I called the shop to explain what happened, and that I would not be able to get the ring. I told her that I was told that if I changed my mind, that I could just call back to get a refund. The woman who I spoke with told me that they don’t do refunds, and was asking who told me that, so I told her it was a woman with dark shorter hair and glasses. The woman on the phone told me, “I’ll need to investigate this.”, so I said alright, expecting a call back within a couple days, but have not heard one word back. I’m assuming my $400 is just going to be kept, which is really disappointing. I want this matter resolved, because there’s no excuse for waiting two weeks to contact me back with an update.

I have visited this store several times over the years. Consistently unique, high quality items and absolutely great customer service. Going here is one of the highlights of any trip up the coast for me!
