Mendocino is a small town filled with independently owned shops such as this used book store. Small, 2 story building crammed with used books from floor to ceiling.This is a true gem. Wish I stumbled upon this shop earlier, I could browse for much longer than a few hours. He says he's been open for 21 years. The shop dog is a bonus!

Lovely bookstore. The kind you don't find anywhere these days. It has a great selection of books in all categories including children's. Very clean and thoughtfully designed. I could have spend hours in there if my son hadn't wanted to go back to the hotel. We bought two books.

Great selection used books in a Whimsical jumble of loose categories. I found a couple of things for eight dollars each I'm really enjoying reading. If you're traveling and forgot your book this is the place to go!

What a gem of a bookstore! It is open (Jan-2021) and Carl and his dog Buddy are there to greet, serve, and find the book you seek. Wear a mask and enjoy the plethora of books, old and new, on the shelves! Carl found me a great local mountain biking book that is out of print.

We happened upon Main St Book Shop & were glad we stopped in. Friendly people, a nice selection of local topic books along with many other titles, lovely layout & atmosphere. We love discovering new bookshops wherever we go & this is one we'll be happy to come back to!

This charming used bookstore is a destination spot for me in the town of Mendocino. There are two stories of used books, plus a very nicely curated section of collectible books as well. Try to visit when the owner is on site. He is knowledgeable and friendly (rather more so than the fill-in staff). I brought some friends in with me on this visit, and they found lovely used books as well. The store is a two_story house, and while one would not want to be there during an earthquake, it affords many nooks and crannies for exploring and browsing. Prices are very competitive.

Beautiful charming building with views of the beautiful coast. They have every kind of book one could want. But I focused in local coffee table books and greeting cards. The shop is easy to find in a corner of Main Street and is #17 on the Mendocino Merchants Map.

I noticed this bookstore by accident. It's across the street in a small house opposite the gas station just as you turn into Mendocino and not adjacent to all the other shops. I thought it had a good selection for its size and found a nice hard cover James Thurber collection. I really enjoyed browsing here.
