When we arrived Jose carried our luggage upstairs (the elevator was down) and got us seating at the tavern. The room was beautiful and slept well. If you are looking for a place to stay. You have found it!

150 G St, Arcata“I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Front Porch Inn in Arcata, CA, and it was an unforgettable experience. My partner and I absolutely loved the hidden bath—it's the perfect place for a nighttime soak under the stars. The living fern walls and secluded ambiance made it feel like a secret oasis.
We also enjoyed the sauna, which provided a deep sense of relaxation. The craftsmanship throughout the property is stunning, with beautiful stonework and old-growth redwood details that add a unique charm to the whole place.
Our room, Basecamp, was absolutely magical. The decor was thoughtfully curated, and the comfort level was top-notch. We felt like we were in a cozy, whimsical retreat. The amenities were exceptional, and the attention to detail was evident everywhere we looked.
The Front Porch Inn is truly a hidden gem. Whether you're looking for relaxation, adventure, or a little bit of both, this place has it all. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and memorable stay. We can't wait to return and explore more of the different themed rooms!”

The room had a giant warm duvet and the best pillows. I felt safe and warm (especially with the adorable gas fire place) Will be back. Larrupin' Cafe is a walkable distance. Perfect place for a romantic weekend. Gorgeous place. LaShawna and Linell take care of their guests.”

301 L St, Eureka“The new prix fixe concept is very for good for this lovely small restaurant, if a bit steep for Eureka. The entrees and salads in our group were delicious, as was the short list of wines by the glass. The Amuse and desserts were nice and creative, though we might have preferred to skip these and have a smaller bill. Service is a bit annoying, varying between fawning (“My darling”), snippy (“coffee is in the lobby”) and irritatingly fast and tidy, picking up every item one by one every few minutes while we tried for a relaxed evening.”

“The Lady Anne is our favorite place to stay in Northern California. The hosts, Sam and Sharon, are delightful people that make our stay such a great experience every time. The house is an authentic Victorian home, with every bit of the charm and history you’d expect and hope for. Morning breakfasts are fantastic and interesting conversation is always on the menu. If you’re staying in Arcata, The Lady Anne is something you must experience.Rooms: There are many rooms to choose from, each with their own personality and vibe.Walkability: The Lady Anne is just a few short blocks from the Arcata Plaza, Wildberries (the best grocery store in Arcata), restaurants etc and is a short walk/drive to Redwood Park. Perfect location for visiting Arcata.Food & drinks: The breakfast served is delightful, especially for kids. Tasty edible flowers from the house garden often accompany the meal, which is a lot of fun and inevitably leads to interesting conversation at the table!”

1895 Patricks Point Dr, Trinidad“Found this little gem of a place while passing through this area heading home back to Canada. The whole space has such a great vibe and the people who own this motel were genuine and caring. The friendly dog Coconut welcomed us upon arrival and the chickens that roam the area were a delight to see...being animal lovers ourselves. The bed was comfy and everything was very clean. At the end of our stay the very sweet owner shared some perfect advice.... "drive slowly and breath deeply"...thank you for that!!Nearby activities: Beaches nearby.Safety: Quiet street and small size of the motel limits the amount of people who stay there.”

4827 Valley W Blvd, Arcata“I lived in Northern Humboldt for over 21yrs and this is the best hotel in the area. The building is older but extremely well maintained. The rooms are spacious and well appointed with everything you need from large TV, mini fridge, coffee maker, iron, ironing board, suitcase rack, desk, and small table. The staff is outstanding and extremely accommodating, everyone from front desk to maids to bkfst staff aim to please and work very hard. The amenities are great, including lounge, large dining area, full continental breakfast, pool, hot tub, dog walking area w/ doggie bags and waste containers (very nicely landscaped), a gazebo and BBQ area with picnic tables, smoking area. Located next to grocery store, dollar store, gas stations, and a few restaurants (Kebab Cafe(greek), Oriental buffet, McDonalds and more. Also close to Riptide a great little drive thru gourmet coffee house with pastries, croissant sandwiches, bagels w/ lox and cream cheese. Easy access to 101 and 299hwys. There is a homeless population in the area, but they do not wander into hotel area and are harmless. Security is good here, the hotel is safe, Ive never had a break in or any problems whatsoever. This is my fave hotel in the area and I come here many times a year for an extended stay. Pet friendly, extra deposit and fee for pets, very reasonable. Affordable hotel for the area, but expect California rates and taxes.”

708 9th St, Arcata“The staff are friendly and accommodating- we were going to arrive late and all we had to do was call in and notify them. Location is pretty central to a lot of small businesses via walking. Although there are a good amount of homeless people staying in the center (right across from the hotel), they keep to themselves. Parking is super easy and the hotel provides free overnight parking passes to hang in your car. They’ll let you know where to park.”

1929 4th St, Eureka“Just finished staying here with my family, the hotel was perfect and fit all five of us. The rooms were super neat and clean, incredibly comfortable beds and pillows and bathrooms were super spacious. Connie, Nathan, and Priscilla were amazing hotel staff and were so accommodating and helpful when we had questions or concerns. Overall everyone was super kind and very nice to talk to. Our two nights here were perfect and everyone was so sweet! Thank you red lion inn!!”
“Due to a fire in our house ,we stayed there for 10 days, with our 3 dogs ? .We were treated with hospitality from the manager to the rest of the staff.A very welcome and understanding of our situation. Thank you !Rooms: Very clean and refreshing.Safety: We walked our dogs several time at night around the motel without any problems, sometimes at 1AM.Walkability: Easy access to restaurants, stores.”
“I was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of the room, given Super 8’s reputation. The front desk clerk was also friendly & gave us some good tips on where to see the redwoods.I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because although the rooms were relatively clean, there was still a lot of unclean areas / spots (bathroom, luggage holder, floors)”
“The room was a surprise! For the price we paid it seemed so upscale! Clean and modern. Full amenities which one does not often encounter with a budget motel. This is in Eureka California, and we also stayed in one in nearby Arcata a couple of years ago, which was also delightful.
Super 8 all the way!”

3535 Janes Rd, Arcata“We had a great one night stay. The room was clean, it was quiet, and we felt safe. The Mexican restaurant next door was an added bonus for a delicious meal. Breakfast was good and an employee was always there making sure tables were clean and food was available.”
“We stayed there after a visit to Redwood NP. Check-in went smoothly, even though we were there early. The rooms are bright and friendly. The shower water pressure is phenomenal! We can only recommend the hotel.”
