Other employees are fine, except this one girl last night who literally stood between me and one of freezer and had her hand on the freezer handle to physically block me from getting the very last item I needed, and yelled right at my face "Sir you are not getting this! We are closed because we want to go home!". I was there for about an hour from 10pm to 11pm trying to purchase for myself and another person. I knew they close at 11pm. Everyone wanted to get home. I wanted to get home. But how that female employee handled the situation with two Safeway customers (me and the person who I was shopping at the same time for) was shocking!! If she couldn't handle her schedule and stress, she should either be fired or quit. Thank you for making two disappointed and angry customers. Caitie, it wan't you, but it was another blond-haired girl who you were working with. Dir Laura Yates, I hope that you will read this, and find out who that employee was. And then tell me if you think what she did to me was appropriate or not. Btw, she wasn't even wearing a face mask. The distance between me and that freezer was no more than 3 feet. She stood right in-between.

Well here i am again regretting AGAIN that i went in, ugh when will I learn. They had a sign miss marked for price and i was annoyed but I was fine. The checker did say she would adjust but you know, getting off work, wanting to get home, lines so other had to wait etc. I said no but maybe you should just fix the sign. As i was walking out the cashier next to her was BAD mouthing me and rude people. Really an employee bad mouthing a customer. As i walked out the auto doors i walked right back in. I stated I was not able to hear him bad mouthing me since the doors were closing and he said she offered to make it right and I said all i said was making you should fix the sign. Do they get customer service training, can't wait until you are in your break room like everyone else, putting on a "show" for other customers? Where is the management for this store!!!!

Wow, I have never seen this sampler variety of buttercream-ed cakes at any other Safeway stores besides the Martinez one. At $15.99, this really wasn't a bad deal. It came with 4 flavors: chocolate, caramel, red velvet and carrot cakes, all divided equally into 4 quarters. I especially liked the caramel cake. The buttercream was infused with caramel sweetness, but it wasn't too heavy or overly sweet. The sponge was caramel-y as well. The chocolate cake came close as the second best. I enjoyed the chocolate richness that it provided. Each bite was packed with deep chocolate flavor. I loved it. The red velvet was not bad, but the sponge was kinda lacking in flavor, and the buttercream was definitely cheesecake but it wasn't a really good one. I didn't get to try the carrot cake. I was full after trying the other 3. The calorie count of these cakes really shocked me. The caramel quarter was 1320 calories. The chocolate quarter was 1200, the red velvet quarter was 1280, and the carrot cake quarter was 1600! So, the whole entire cake was 54000 calories!!!! GASP! It was scary, but the cakes were good.

Don't listen to the Karens on here; this is actually a pretty great Safeway and I love that there's no self check-out. Nice to actually have a human being check you out. If you are shopping during a rush hour expect to wait - and plan to come at a different time if you're in a hurry. The store has a great selection and has increasingly begin to carry more organic selections which is wonderful. The store is clean except during the late night hours when there is freight everywhere - which is to be expected since they're open all night and their warehouse is tiny. Love this location!

You can tell that all staff are overworked and under paid. I think they are just as annoyed with the long lines as the customers. Even though I live two streets away I've gone here twice and won't come again unless it's a dying emergency, even then I might not. Lol Lines are just way too long.

I love the fried chicken in this store. The delis food is always fresh. The management here is amazingand will help you with any issues. The produce i bought today was also very fresh.

I should not have to call the store at 6:07 am and ask them to open the store. I saw about 5 people come and go because they can't open the store on time. I only waited and called because I didn't want to drive around town. What a horrible way to start the day.

This is the best Safeway in the Martinez/Pleasant Hill area. The cleanest of the stores close to my house. The alternative one on Alhambra near the high school attracts a bunch of tweaks & low life's outside. If you frequent the store in the mornings 8-11am there are a lot of MILF's which is always nice. I would much rather drive a little farther to shop in a cleaner space with attractive women around then deal with the nasty low-lifes that gather outside of the one downtown.

Congratulations. You've found it: the worlds worst Safeway. 0 self checkouts 0 urgency or customer service from the employees 20 minutes to checkout This should be all the proof you need that Safeway is a dying behemoth of yesteryear

Worst customer service I've seen . The staff cannot process a simple WesternUnion transaction. Their ineptitude cause my account to be locked down . Could not help a love one due to this fiasco. Never at this location ever.
