Had an issue with getting my vehicle smogged; had multiple error codes showing. Took it to Mtz Auto Repair & they fixed the errors and underlying issues, as well as taking my vehicle to get smog certified & rechecked. Very friendly & knowledgeable staff, & they went went above & beyond. Highly recommend.

The new owner backed my car into something causing damage, then lied about it and never compensated me for it. I always used to take my car here. The previous owner was very knowledgeable and helpful. I'd probably still be taking my cars here if the situation had been rectified but since it wasn't, proceed with caution.
Response to Owner's Reply: The car was under a different name and this was almost 2 years ago at this point but the car was towed by AAA to MTZ Auto Repair at 889 Howe Rd in Martinez. The person I spoke to who I was told by the previous owner was at fault is the same person in the photo of the new owners. I believe his name is Anthony. Thanks for your response. I'm positive this is the right place though.

These guys are the best! I've been a customer for years and can always trust them to do good work at a fair price. So many other mechanics will try to overcharge you or do unnecessary work because you're a woman, but I can trust this shop to never do that to me. I highly recommend them!

Towed my car here to trouble shoot starting issues. Had replaced my battery and next morning it didn't start. Checked fuses, grounding, and about any other thing I could think of. I had tools in hand about to take starter out to have tested. Didn't feel right and didn't want to deal with it. Billy checked in my car. Called me in hour or so and says it's the key fab. No charge. The honesty will go along way with me. I highly recommend this shop. I will be going here from now on with any issues my vehicles have.

My old tahoe ran terribly and in a day MTZ auto repair was able to get it running again like new.

I've been going to MTZ Auto for a few years now and they always do a great job. Prices are reasonable, service is good, I can trust they will do what they say. That's not always true with mechanics, so I'm happy that I have MTZ Auto nearby.

MTZ Auto Repair for the win.Took my Prius in with an oil leak, and the worst case scenario from a dealership which was thousands to repair, or time to think about replacing it due to higher mileage.Came away having payed only a couple of hundred dollars, and it’s repaired.Less than 2 weeks ago my youngest sister passed away. Right now I have at best 1 working brain cell. I needed this experience today more than I can express.It’s an enormous relief to have my car repaired honestly, and I didn’t have to even think about if I’m being swindled.I am now an MTZ customer.

They had a good sense of how long the replacement of control arms would be. The price is good. They even will rebuild or install engines. Most mechanic shops don’t.
