“We have been using this vets office for the last two years and have been satisfied with them! They always get us in really quickly for appointments. They can be impersonal at times. It is also a little difficult to not be able to go back with your pets into the room but I understand why they do it. Other than that they’ve always been willing to work with us and get us in and do a thorough job looking at our animals.”
“Dr. Pete Plescia is great! My granddaughter talked me into adopting, a baby kitten, with only one eye fully formed. I knew the kitten would need surgery when it got older. But an enucleation was extremely expensive in the Bay Area. A friend of my daughters told me about Dr. Pete. I drove down to Castroville with my kitten for a preop. He gave me a great quote went back a couple weeks later, and the surgery was a huge success. We had no idea how unwell he was feeling until he recovered from the surgery and now he has a ball of energy. A big thank you, Dr. Pete, and everybody at Wave Veterinarian Clinic.”
“We started bringing our new puppy to Animal Hospital of Salinas and we are very happy with the service. Drs. Chan and Sage are at that sweet spot in their careers where they possess all the current training and knowledge of modern veterinary care, but they also have enough years of practice to appropriately apply their knowledge. They were very gentle with my puppy, listened to my concerns, and offered practical advice. The staff is patient and friendly, and "plugged in" to their clients' needs. Great place! Oh, and there are separate entrances/waiting rooms for cats & dogs, which I am sure is much appreciated by the feline group. :)
UPDATE: Still using Animal Hospital of Salinas after 12 years, and we still highly recommend. :)”

“The entire office is pleasant and easy to work with. I always feel like they truly have our pets' best interest at heart. Many other veterinarian offices are obviously more concerned about the business end of things than the health of the animals. I often feel like the other offices are trying to up-sell you. Dr. Dena Eckerdt will voluntarily tell you that you can buy products and medications from her but it is much cheaper other places. They also are great with my pets, even the very difficult ones.”
“I wish I could bring my cats and dog here. A few months ago we panicked trying to find a vet to take our hedgehog we rehomed from someone else. She was sick and nowhere near us would take her. One place wanted $500 just to see her! Since we traveled 4 hours one way, they worked with us even if they were busy. They emailed promptly and answered questions. They helped us find a company to get her medication compounded. They helped us give quality care in her last few months while understanding our budget and time restraints. When the time came to put her down, everyone was supportive and empathetic. We chose to take her home to bury, they presented her in a box to take home with a bed of hay and flowers. They went above and beyond. Dr. Amy Wells treated her with such love and care. I will forever be grateful to their kindness. We could've found a closer vet, but they were worth the drive!”
“Good and i can sense that they really care about their patients, i feel the compassion. Everyone is nice and welcoming. The parking sucked though, it's really hard to find somewhere near to park your car. That is kind of a little annoying.”

Each time we came to SPCA we had a great experience and everyone was very nice and helpful. We ended up finding a purrfect kitten and the whole adoption process was very smooth! “Dr. Arteaga and her staff did an amazing job taking care of our 11 year old Boston Terrier! She has been in cancer remission for 3 years. I was told she had maybe three months in September of 2021. Dr. Arteaga took her on as a patient. She lived three more full years of life. She left for the Rainbow Bridge September 19, 2024. Thank you Dr. Arteaga for the additional three years of life we are so blessed! ? God Bless you!”

Wonderfully caring staff and doctor. We’re here from out of town. No one else except for the expensive ER hospital could see our dog. Banfield Pet Hospital allowed us to bring her right in. Dr. Dickson and the staff were able to help her right away! They were so kind, caring, and helpful and the fees were reasonable too! It was such a relief! Thank you to Dr. Dickson and the staff!”
“All together I am pleased with their care and service, though I find the charges for the health care rather hefty. A few issues are that the attitude at times is not quite friendly. I get the Doctors and their team are likely often busy and may have a lot going on. Yet, I believe genuine kindness and hearing some of the concerns addressed would as well be helpful.”

“Dr Dykstra has been one of my horses main vets from this clinic for several years now. Last week my horse came down with an acute lameness on 2 legs and hurting over his whole body, he could barely walk. Dr Hibbits so kindly saw him on an emergency appointment at my house quickly after I called, started him on a high dose of Bute for a few days till he was sound enough to trailer. Dr Dykstra saw him at the clinic and was, and always has been, so easy to educate me on step by step diagnostics in the best interest of my horse. No questions were left unanswered and my mind was at ease when we were done. She even went the extra mile to spend about 15 minutes helping me load my horse back in the trailer who was giving us a real hard time. All of their vets are always very kind, thorough, and educational. I always trust them with all of my horses whatever the problem may be.”

“I adore Dr. Herrmann and her incredible staff!! She helped me ease thru having to put a previous pet to sleep and is my go-to for any issues with my pets. She won't give you any bs and shoots straight with where your pet's health is at. If you are expecting someone to just tell you what you want to hear or, like the previous reviewer, have some wildly entitled notion that you can stop the entire functioning of her ER vet services so that you can give her uneducated "guesses" as to what you think is going on based on some simple google searches ... yea, that previous reviewer clearly found out Dr. Herrmann does NOT suffer fools or foolishness. What she DOES do, and better than any other vet i've ever seen, is get your animal fixed up and on the mend. I'm sorry for my anger showing thru in this post about something someone else wrote, but Dr. Herrmann is a saint and cussing her out in German is not something i will allow to go unanswered”

“Blue Pearl Pet Hospital is a pretty good place for emergency veterinary care. The place does seem to be very busy so the waiting time can be several hours. Some of the staff in the office are unfriendly and rude but the doctors and technicians really seemed to be devoted to the care of the pets. The care they provided for my little dog was very good and very caring. The only thing I didn't like was the long wait without receiving any kind of updates. Overall I rate this animal hospital with four stars. I do believe they can make some improvements to their policies and procedures as well as improving the attitudes of their office staff.”
