Super cute small nail salon! It's herself and her husband they're super sweet and I love having conversation with them, since it's small they don't do designs and have simple color choices but of course with that the prices are amazing! I paid $50 for both a full almond set and a pedicure she took her time to be very precise with everything, I'd highly recommend!

Facts first. I got acrylic French tips, they cost under $40, and lasted over 4 weeks. On the set I got here, the first nail to break was my right hand pointer finger and it broke with all of my nail plate/bed still intact. That alone gets 5 stars to anyone who gets their nails done regularly.

First of all, I am not a local to the Monterey area. I go to school at CSUMB, super close to this salon. My friend and I wanted to get our nails done as a final hangout before she graduates on Saturday. This salon was the only one that could take us because the other local ones were busy. We were greeted at the door and brought in. This salon is pretty small, it only has two pedicure stations and two manicure stations but it wasn't a problem for us. The owners are a husband and wife and they were super sweet and funny. My friend got a manicure and pedicure and I just got a manicure. The lady was so nice to my friend and gave suggestions on colors/designs but ultimately let my friend decide what she wanted. She didn't pressure my friend in any way which was nice. After the husband finished with another customer, he did my manicure. He was very gentle and it was a total painless experience. The hand massage is always my favorite part of a manicure, and this definitely didn't disappoint. My friend ended up getting gel nails and a regular pedicure, and they gave her a slight discount which was amazing. That is great customer service right there. And the best part? My manicure was only $10, very college student friendly. The manicure came out amazing and I am definitely not disappointed! I will for sure be coming back here when the need arises or I want a little pampering. Thank you Fashion Nails for a great first time!

My friend and I went in to get a full set each. My friends manicurist was extremely rude to both of us. Apparently she is the owner, she yelled at her because my friend wanted to fix the shape a little. Both of our full sets were poorly done. They aren't smooth at all and the acrylic doesn't even go all the way to the cuticle. We will never be coming here again.

Don't come to this place the lady who did my manicure and pedicure is rude and makes it seem like it's my fault. Well, the last time I came in for a gel manicure and regular pedicure as I walked in she was asleep and looked at me as if I woke her up from her nap. She didn't say hi how are you how can I help you. She said what do you want I said well I want a gel manicure and regular pedicure and then she didn't use her words she was nodding her head as I told her what I wanted. And made me feel stupid and was so condescending when I was looking at which color I want for my nails and toes and thought I didn't know which one was gel and which was regular polish. I've gotten my nails done for a long time so I know the difference between gel and regular nail polish and it pissed me off that she thought I didn't know the difference. I understand that it's a small business but in order to have clientele be nicer to your customers. She also cut me really bad as she was doing my hands and I went home bleeding that day and half the polish wasn't wiped off properly and my hands were still stinging from when she cut me. She was also on her phone the whole time speaking in her native tongue which was beyond unprofessional. I'm ok with these guys communicating in their native tongue for business stuff but not for personal things it's rude and not professional especially when doing a customers nails. Or just stopping what she's doing talking to the guy who works there as well and just points at my nails and is not doing her job is rude though I don't understand or speak Vietnamese if I saw that she was pointing at my nails then that means she was talking smack about them. Never coming back.

If I can give zero stars I would. The women was somewhat rude and the man just kept on cutting me while shaping my nails.
