I like it! Super convenient (for me). It's located near where we do a lot of our shopping. It's loaded with food we normally eat and the owner is very kind. I love exploring Asian markets for new food options but having the familiar to fall back on. This place has that vibe for me. It's Korean leaning and that's cool a lot of Asian type foods are quite similar with just a few changes in spices and preparation. Overall it's variety is good. A nice frozen section, selection of rice, noodles and meats. A wide selection of prepared condiments ( I'm lazy) for your rice and noodles. It's not a one stop shop and I don't need it to be, they have enough variety for me to return and try new things, and that's fun. The kind lady (owner) gave us a free package of house made Korean kimchi pancake type things for stopping in. P.S. on that last paragraph, the pancakes given to us I think are called kimchijeon. We just put them in a hot pan and crisped them up a little... bam! A nice side with all the other good things we got there too day. Last word...excellent!

It's a baby HMart with the sweetest proprietress! She welcomed me and my husband to her store. I told her that I needed to replenish my Korean pantry with gochujang, doen jang, kimchi, and mandu. She helped me find what I wanted, told me how to eat some different sauces, and corrected my pronunciation. Chon's is not a grocery store. It's more of a Korean specialty foods store with fresh perilla leaves, and radish, along with all sorts of fungus, mushrooms, and noodles. I was super happy with my purchases, and the great education I received. As we left the store, the proprietress handed us a package of chestnut snacks as a gift for coming to her store. I will definitely be back but I won't be buying chestnut snacks. I think you had to grow up with them to appreciate the taste!!!!

Great Korean market in such a quaint neighborhood. Has everything you need, including prime parking spots right in front. Wide selection of Korean essentials, and even found Truffle Salt Turtle Chips, which I haven't seen anywhere! Prices are super reasonable as well. The aunties here are super sweet, though I missed the chance of having their handmade dumplings. Hoping I can get some the next time I visit.

Chon's Market is a small market that is run by some wonderful ladies. Their kindness and excellent customer service is absolutely fantastic. This small market has the usual Korean food items and they also have wonderful Korean mink blankets. I have purchased several of these blankets and they are very warm and they really are beautiful when the bed is made. On Saturdays these ladies sometimes have delicious Korean pancakes and some other dishes they make. Parking can be difficult and the parking spots are pretty tight. Located on Carmel Avenue in Marina close to the Charles apartments and the Penny Saver store.

Small mom and pop style Korean grocery store, feels a bit run down, but has a wonderful fridge in the back full of very affordable containers of a wide assortment of Korean side dishes (banchan) labeled only in Korean or no labels, very tasty and very affordable! Great little find if you like Korean food. I stopped on the way back to Santa Cruz after a visit to Carmel, there is nothing like this in the Santa Cruz area.

It's a small corner store so don't expect everything will be there. Their side dish offerings are quite authentic. I haven't found a better place for it in the Monterey Bay area.
