I'm so happy with my cat's lions cut. He looks amazing. It's very difficult to find a cat groomer in Los Angeles. I'm very grateful T.H.E. Cat Hospital offers this service.

Please note, I am only basing this review on the front desk staff. I have no idea or experience with the actual vets at this place so it has nothing to do with the vets. I was picking up cupcakes from Susie Cakes next door and I was going to check out The Cat Hospital bc their website said they had "boarding," and I wanted to ask some questions. I opened the door and there were 2 women at the front desk, the one on the left was eating, the one on the right YELLED VERY RUDELY AND LOUDLY" you can't come in." I was with my 12yo son and we backed out of the door looking like a deer in headlights. She said something else but I literally was so shocked at how rude she was, I just said we will do business elsewhere. I get it if people are understaffed or overworked (and I'm not saying this was the case) but honestly first impression was really bad. I am a local and have lived in the Marina for over 20 years and just got a kitten from the WestLA shelter and wanted to support local. If it's your lunch break or whatever, lock the door, put a sign up that you are taking a break. Management should look at the camera to see as proof, it was 10/31 at appt 4pm bc I paid for cupcakes at 3:52pm.

I never leave bad reviews and it pains me to leave a bad review because Dr. Blair and Oscar the vet tech are so, so wonderful. But the front desk has completely RUINED this place. For context, I run my own business and know how taxing customer service can be. So I'm not expecting pleasantries but communication and civility aren't too much to ask. In the last 3 years, management has changed and the lovely people who used to work as receptionists have left because of this. I don't blame them considering how rude the new people are to customers so I can only imagine what working there must be like. But without the old staff, the service here is terrible and nothing gets done. The front desk is hostile, rude, and unhelpful. It takes a minimum of 10 minutes on hold for someone to even answer your phone call let alone help you. I've had to call in several times to get a simple prescription refill. If they say they'll call you back, they don't. The new(ish) manager Lisa is rarely there and it seems the receptionists have to speak to her to get anything answered. So things take forever to get done and when you call them back for a status update since they don't call you, they act like you're interrupting their day for calling when they're at work! When dropping off your kitties, it takes so long for them to answer the phone to tell them you're there to drop off. And if you wave or knock on the door, they have privacy film up so you can't even wave to them to tell them you're there. My last time there to dropoff, I explained I was waiting on hold outside the door for 15 minutes to drop my kitty off for his appointment so I knocked on the door. When the receptionist opened the door (she actually had to UNLOCK the door--WHY?!), she put her hand in my face (like a "stop" gesture), cut me off when I tried to explain why I knocked in the first place, glared at me, and huffed and puffed. She said "you should've called. We're busy." When no one was on the phone in the office. She was so incredibly rude and disrespectful when I was calm and trying to explain why I "bothered" her. And this isn't the first time it's happened. It literally happens every time I come here. They always have so much attitude. And if this is how they're treating me, how can I expect them to take care of my kitties??!! When you're paying a premium for a cat-friendly hospital, I expect some modicum of customer service and at the very least, not to be yelled at by another adult, let alone a receptionist trying to check you in. TLDR-Dr. Blair, please get out of your contract and take Oscar with you. We will follow you anywhere! But the service has been so poor and rude, and to pay more for it than another hospital is unacceptable.

I would definitely recommend T.H.E Cat Hospital! They have provided such great care for my cat Roku. The staff members are very friendly and you can tell they care about each animal. I have been going to them since last year. They are organized with appointments and provide great care for your pet. I have called a few times just because I have had questions regarding my cat and they are always very helpful with answering questions and are very quick to get back to you over email. If you are looking for a vet in the area I would definitely recommend the C.A.T Hospital.

Like so many veterinarians, THE Cat Hospital has been a bit challenging to schedule appointments with....but other than that they have been amazing with our senior kitty cat, Pookie! The staff sincerely cares about the animals and it shows. Pookie has been to the clinic on several occasions over the years and then her kidney disease ended her wonderful but way to short life just a few weeks ago. As all animal lovers know, losing a pet is the WORST! We're still in shock and overcome with sadness....but THE Cat Hospital staff did something that stands out as going above and beyond. We received a sweet card that was signed by every member of the staff and each person wrote a personal note of sympathy on the card. I will treasure that card forever. Thank you THE Cat Hospital for doing all you could to keep Pookie alive and happy. You're all a blessing to my family.

If I could give zero starts I would. I've tried them three times now and have awful experiences each time. There is no communication and the office manager, Lisa, is just an awful person to work with. If you have any complaints, she will be sure to blame you or your pet instead of taking any responsibility. I'm sure they will respond to this comment blaming it all on me like they have done with other negative reviews. This latest time, my cat is having some issues with his skin and needed to be seen ASAP for treatment and to make sure no infection. I was first told when I called they would squeeze me in between appointments or prescribe topical treatment until they could see him. Lisa called me back several hours later telling me there was no way they could see my cat for A MONTH AND A HALF because they were booked. I understand being booked out for wellness exams but for a sick pet??? Not the type of care I expected for their high prices nor the care i would hope for people claiming to care for animals. It's a joke. She said they also couldn't give any advice or prescribe without seeing my cat so left me with the only option of going to urgent care or the ER. I've had no issues with Dr. Blair, but while she was out, the vet that took over for her was condescending and unhelpful. My cat came home with a bug which looked like a tic on him which was clearly not there when I arrived with him. Lisa insisted it had been on him or in his carrier and there was no way it could have come from their office. This was after I arrived at my appointment on time only to be told the vet couldn't see him about another 2 hours without any call ahead of time, causing more stress on my cat. Save your energy and find another vet that actually cares about their animals and their customers.

I just had the worst experience with this hospital's staff.I scheduled a behavioral appointment with a veterinarian for my cat over two weeks ago for 11:30 today. The office staff person, Lanie, said she would email me forms to complete prior to my appointment. After a week, I had not received any forms and I called to request them again. Before paying in advance as they required, I wanted more information about my participation in the appointment. I asked if I could be in the room with the veterinarian since this was a behavioral appointment and required a conversation.Lanie told me that no one was allowed to attend an appointment with their cat. I then asked her the process of communicating with the veterinarian. Lanie told me that she would have to ask someone if I could be on the phone with the veterinarian during the appointment and that the veterinarian would not contact me after the appointment. Instead, the vet's notes would be read to me by a vet assistant. Lanie did not call me back with an answer so I called her again. At that time, she told me that during the first 1/2 hour of the 1 hour appointment, the vet was willing to be on the phone with me.Lanie called yesterday to confirm the appointment and told me the time changed from 11:30 AM to 11:00 AM.The veterinarian had cancellations and it had to be moved up to allow her more time for afternoon surgeries. We accommodated (difficult) this earlier arrival at 11 o'clock today.Lanie told me to call the office when we arrived and someone would come to the car to pick up our cat. We arrived a few minutes before 11 and we were asked to bring the cat inside.By 11:30, a half an hour into the scheduled appointment,I had not received a call from the vet as expected. I went back into the office and asked about the veterinarian's call and her progress with the examination. The staff told me my cat had not yet been seen because we arrived too early and that the vet would not be communicating with me at all during the appointment. Also, the vet was never informed regarding the appointment time change.I once again had to explain that a behavioral appointment requires communication. They asked me if I wanted to speak to a manager and a manager came out and did not introduce herself. She explained that there had been an emergency and that the veterinarian was not informed that I had been told to come in a half an hour early. The manager said that the veterinarian would not be talking to me while examining my cat.The manager was hostile and extremely condescending. She also acted like she did not believe me when I explained what had been discussed with Lanie regarding my participation in the exam.I suggested that she listen to all of my recorded phone calls over the past two weeks with Lanie in order to understand what I had been told and why I had these expectations. The manager's response was that I wasn't allowed to be in the office area. Remember? The same area I was told to bring my cat.I asked where my cat was after a half an hour. She said that my cat was alone in a room in her carrier. She told me that the vet was reviewing my paperwork and would be seeing her shortly.I waited another half an hour. Now it has been an hour since we arrived at the time we were told. I went back to the office. Now the door was closed and locked with a big STOP sign on it.After a number of minutes, Lanie came out and told us that my cat had still not been seen. She said that the vet was reviewing the paperwork which I had been told 30 minutes previously. Then, the manager came out with my cat in her carrier and handed the carrier to me. They had left my cat alone for an hour, lied to me about the appointment time, lied to me about being able to be on the phone with the vet, lied to me that the vet had stabilized the emergency at 11:30 and treated me horribly. AND LEFT MY CAT ALONE NEEDLESSLY FOR AN HOUR. The only thing they managed competently was to process my payment. Please note that I am fine with strict Covid protocol, and fine with understanding an emergency. I

For a "cat only" hospital to be right next to a dog groomer already drops a star. Bad location! We have a cat that turns into a tiger at the vet so for some reason we thought a vet "specializing in cats" would be a good choice for us. They were not. They were a very bad experience. All the mask mandates are down now, yet they still have you drop off your cat and wait outside. We were told 30 to 40 minutes. We were left waiting for an hour and a half! We ended up having to demand our cat back! I am not someone who loses my patience or my temper very easily, however I feel that this was very bad service. I have been a receptionist before, I have worked in a medical office before, so I understand how things should run! I feel that the front office is inadequate, unfriendly and probably not well trained. I understand that times are strange and to find and maintain a good staff can be difficult but any business owner should realize that a bad front office can lose you business! We feel that there was a lack of communication, inadequate service for our pet, and dismissive and uninformed staff. To put your clients in a position of indignation and further disparage me by saying that I was aggressive and we couldn't come back is absurd and infuriating! WE ABSOLUTELY WILL NEVER COME BACK TO THIS PLACE! YOU LOST BUSINESS BECAUSE OF THE WAY YOU TREATED US!

I really prefer talking and meeting my vet while my cats get their annual physical. Unfortunately during the last two years and continuing in 2022 the world has been suffering from Covid 19. The vets at the Cat hospital have asked us to drop our cats off to prevent the spread of this pandemic. The vet sends you a written report of your cats health and any other services they may need. Hoping later in the year to meet our vet in person.

Guys.... they truly care about cats, here. Dr. Blair is brilliant, thorough & thoughtful. She walked me through various options & research related to my senior cat's health. They get you in and out quickly, too. All of the team members are diligent and knowledgeable. Highly recommend this place!!
