Despite coming in hot with an issue with their third party valet and laundry room, this hotel is a gem. Great location, views from restaurant and bar, excellent breakfast spread, and great team at the front desk and GM mark. Will stay here again despite our slight valet issue which hopefully is resolved quick.

Soul-soothing views!
Our stay at this hotel was very pleasant and comfortable! Wonderful amenities, friendly and attentive staff, super clean, and soul-soothing marina views! Will go back again soon!
Rooms: Amazing views! Super clean and welcoming!
Nearby activities: MANY great restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance!
Safety: We felt very safe within the hotel property and walking around Marina Del Rey.

The women at the front desk are rude and unprofessional. They checked us in didn't give us any directions information about parking or anything .To me the Latino women here seem racist. The Valet parking were a little weird also I heard the security and valet talking very unprofessional To be at a hotel in Marina Del Rey..

As an Ambassador Elite with spending over 150 nights in Hotels this is the worst!
Location is great, but everything else is just bad! Too many useless manager’s and sleepy staff. Cleaning i also think is not on a daily agenda! Front Desk Staff I am not even talking about!
Food and Beverage way overpriced for the quality of Service & Food!
They need a change of management immediately, because the Concept for a Residence Inn and Location is great!

Upon checking into the room, we spotted a couple of peices of Cheetos on the floor under the cabinet which I reported immediately to the front desk. The Cheetos were still there when we left a week later. Also, there's no body lotion in the bathroom.
On top of it all, they charged us a $20 a night destination fee at check out; a bogus charge that basically jacks up room rate $20 a night without upfront notice.
Parking is insanely expensive too.
Nearby activities: Close to Santa Monica and Malibu (sort of)

If you do decide to book here, be very careful about where your room is located. There is a bar/restaurant on the second floor, basically right outside of a number of rooms with terraces. If you think that booking a room with a terrace would be a good idea, choose a different hotel. You will have ZERO privacy on the second floor, bar staff outside of your window at any given time and a bar party with DJ and loud people every Friday and Saturday evening. The rooms go at a premium based on the fact that they have a terrace, but the terrace is useless and you will have no peace on Friday or Saturday evenings.
There were a handful of other issues with our stay, like how the rooms have no safe for personal belongings, limited closet space, non-working AC, only a fraction of staff speaking English, restaurant wait staff with barely any training, strangely unprofessional exchanges with valet staff, etc, but the way the hotel double dips by taking bookings for loud parties right outside of guest rooms clearly takes the cake.
The only thing this hotel has going for it is the location, and they seem to be banking hard on it, thinking they can get away with anything. When it comes to our experience as guests, it was a major bait and switch - not at all reflecting of the Marriott brand. For the money we spent vs. the value we received, I unfortunately cannot give more than one star. My advice would be to take your patronage elsewhere.

Looks nice hotel in a great location with friendly staff. Be sure to visit the open air bar in the evening, have a great view of the marina and ride your bikes to Fisherman's Village. Venice Beach is within walking distance.
Walkability: Venice Beach is within walking distance.

If you're telepathic, then this is the place for you!! The lack of a sign for hotel parking made me drive around 2x until I decided the valet park is not just for the restaurant. The staff do not give instructions on which side is for Residence Inn or Courtyard. "R" is for the Residence Inn and it's a different elevator. There are plenty of staff, but it seems they haven't been trained well. Sad, BUT the hotel's accommodations make up for lackluster staff. Oh, don't expect much for breakfast staff-ask me about the toaster.
Rooms: Stylish and clean!

This is a comfortable resort-type accommodation in the best location.

I struggle with this one. Best way to say it is inconsistent. Front desk staff was very nice however my room wasn’t ready and it was after 4pm. The restaurant staff was just ok. I got a drink voucher since my room was not ready. Well if you wanted almost anything besides beer and wine the voucher could not be applied to an upgraded beverage. Pricing on liquor is way out of line from even fancy restaurants. So you know the voucher was $17, they charge more than that for a bourbon when the bottle is only $43 at the store. The valet is absolutely terrible. They don’t come and greet you. I had to flag them from behind the valet stand 100% of the times I returned. When I tipped them to leave it up front because I was just running up got the room for a few minutes they still parked it in the garage. Rooms are good, but very basic. No amenities in the bathrooms. Location is amazing for LA and away from the crowds. Plenty of great paces to eat. Check the Ritz and Marriott before staying here.

Great location and beautiful hotel. However, we had no air conditioning our entire 5 day stay. The staff has not done anything to comp us, they offered us additional points but now that we’ve checked out those points have never come through. We also left clothes in the room, our fault I know, but they “can’t find them.” We reached out to the General Manager, Mark, as advised by the weekend manager, and got no response. Disappointing for such a nice hotel.

We had no air conditioning during our entire stay and could not get an update from the hotel on when/if it would be fixed. They did give us point as a make good however we had to go through the corporate Marriott line to get them. Overall inconsistent service.

I have 2 complaints. First of all charging $45 a day to park a vehicle is outrageous and not SUSTAINABLE to anyone's budget. Secondly, I found the complimentary breakfast to be nauseating after 2 week. They should work potatoes as well as biscuits & gravy into the rotation.

This hotel is by a pretty view of the Marina. I think it is a safer part of LA because you have to go in a big loop around the Marina so it is not a place people would be cutting through or loitering in very easily. There is a TJs not too far away and the room comes with a full refrigerator. The dishwasher was difficult to understand with a weird red warning light on it. Breakfast buffet was great and so was valet. I just wish they would label the breakfast. I thought I was grabbing egg bites and was super disappointed when they were pastry bites instead. Also the ice machine in the breakfast buffet is too low for my yeti to fill for work for the day so I had to fill it with a cup. And it is too low also. I also had a hard time turning the TV in the bedroom off so I had to take the power out of the wall. The TV even when turned off was still glowing.

Very disappointed in my experience here. Checked out of my room this morning at 11:19, and I left my diamond necklace inside- came back by 11:49 and my necklace was gone. The front desk could not locate the person that cleaned my room that quickly - I was told hector cleaned my room but they could not locate him. Then hector went to lunch. My necklace was in plain view and was stolen. I know it was a mistake to leave it but my items should be safe no matter what. Had to file a police report and still no help. Please help!
