Located in the heart of Marina del Rey, California.
Locanda’s menu also features a wide selection signature handmade pastas and choice grilled meats. The broad range of cuisine, both inland and coastal, covers traditional and modern influences, allowing Chef Michelangelo and his culinary team an open canvas from which to draw on. In Marina del Rey since 2010 we welcome you to join us for dinner everyday from 5:30 pm
About the restaurant: Brothers Paolo and Michelangelo opened this charming Italian restaurant after spending decades in the hospitality industry. What they have created is a sophisticated and unpretentious, albeit predictable, take on multi-region Italian cuisine --- a style surprisingly lacking in the beach community of Marina del Rey. Though the dining room can feel very cramped, the kitchen makes up for it by producing well-executed dishes, alongside service that is warm and attentive.Food & Drinks: Carpaccio is made with very good quality beef from Piedmont that nearly disintegrates when tasted, and fried calamari and vegetables are light compared to most other versions we've tried. Most of the restaurant's pastas are homemade, the standout being fresh pappardelle with braised wild boar in Brunello sauce. The thick ribbon noodles absorb the unctuous sauce with ease, which is further intensified by the acid of the red wine. Grilled rack of lamb also comes with a fine rich wine reduction sauce, and branzino filet is nestled in caper and tomatoes. Simple choices like baba and cheesecake are on offer for dessert, and a comprehensive wine selection includes several great options from the various grape-growing regions of Italy.
