“My fiancé has a huge collection of crystals and various gemstones, so we stopped in here on a whim to see if we could find anything to add to it. The staff were so lovely and knowledgeable. Everyone was happy: I walked out with a cute fossil, my fiancé got to geek out about crystals with someone who knows what they’re talking about lol (because it’s not me), and a few items were added to his collection. I recommended highly this beautiful and unique place.”

369 N Fairfax Ave #1, Los Angeles“I have never enter this store but I did wait for my brother in the car meanwhile he got a Siddur for me. I observed how the owner walked with my brother towards the books and probably explained to him what the book was for. It took me a while to read the Siddur. Know that I read it every morning and night, I’m very happy with it. May God continue to bless this shop. ?”

“We LOVE Gum Tree. The cafe is outstanding. Excellent, healthy, fresh, and always tasty bites. Coffee, espresso, chai, teas made to perfection. The baristas are sweet, cool and service is on point. Lori and hubby are awesome. Great patio to take in passersby. Local, non bougie. We love bringing our out of town friends/family and when they return Gum Tree is first on the list to revisit. That is not only because they love the cafe but because the shop is soooo wonderful. So many beautiful things. So beautifully curated. It feels good the moment you walk in. We always find the perfect gifts for any conceivable occasion. The jewelry is stunning. The home goods....!! Every year a new ornament, or two, for the tree. “After Necromance, sadly, closed their brick and mortar shop, there was a brief period in time where their combination of taxidermy and Victoriana was no where to be seen. I'm a big fan of Gold Bug in Pasadena, but they are not quite as "dark" in their aesthetic. Memento Mori, on the other hand, feels like a pretty good replacement. So, what are you going to find here? Well, as you may have guessed from my intro, taxidermy. The classic boars and deer heads preserved as wall ornaments...but also delicate butterflies beautifully arranged under glass domes. While no where near as extensive a collection of preserved animal parts as Necromance, there still is a decent collection, particularly for decor. Memento Mori also lacks the strong mothball smell that permeated the aforementioned store. There is a large collection of silver jewelry incorporating classic taxidermy elements, such as glass eyes. And lots of trinkets for those of a "gothic" aesthetic. They also carry a number of very comfortable tshirts bearing variations of their logo, one of which currently hangs in my closet. Memento Mori also appears to serve as a gothic community center: they always have flyers and posters advertising events such as Endless Night, a vampire-themed ball, or gothic-themed fairs for artisans. So, definitely worth a visit if your aesthetics or predilections lean to the darker side of life.”
“This wonderful local shop has been my go-to shopping for special occasions and personal items for years. Artisanal, eco friendly, and ethically produced home goods, jewelry, kid’s gifts, and just all sorts of unique and high-quality, always affordable…goods!”
“Giant Robot is a cute little store with trinkets and such. They offer blind boxes, tokidoki clothing, pins, artists’ products, and collectibles. They have a wide selection of blind boxes like Sonny angels, Smiskis, tokidoki, and Kitan Club brand. They also feature products from local artists like prints and soft goods. As of fall 2023, they still require masks to be worn, but offer them at the front.”
