There wasn't any hot water and the owner/manager REFUSED to compensate me in any way. Not even for the dry shampoo and wipes we had to buy because we couldn't take a shower. Also, the room was a lot different than the ones listed on the website and even the ones we saw being cleaned. The furnishings were different and it was falling apart. It looked more like garage sale leftovers. Again, the other rooms we saw were nice. Our room was like a dungeon falling apart - like a community college frat house. The comforter had holes in it the fixtures in the bathroom were legit on the floor. I would have not minded this as much, but THE HOT WATER HEATER WAS BROKEN FOR THE 3 DAYS WE WERE THERE. Sure that's not anybody's fault, HOWEVER refusing compensation? Not knocking anything off the price? Shoot, not even a free parking voucher to walk on the pier? The only positive we encountered were the employees - they were really nice. Front desk, maintenance and cleaning staff all were great.

Ok, may I say I love this place and see nothing but potential here. The location is excellent. You are nestled next to the marina and the deck is enormous. You could have a cocktail party on your, private beach deck. You get to watch the sun rise. There is tea upstairs in the lobby. I made myself a cup and used my finger to open the broken screen door to watch the sun rise after Christmas Day.There is a fireplace area in the lobby, dark and cold, but again, I see the potential. The customer service is excellent. When we couldn't find the remote, guest services came down with a fistful to see which one worked. The location is excellent. You have a microwave and mini fridge. It is December, and the morning air is delightfully creeping into our room. It is absolutely lovely. The cost is reasonable! Thank you, God. It's reasonable! The negative... I've never seen a TV with only three channels. I mean, yeah, in the 80s. Most of the channels aren't available. A handful are pixelated and frozen. There are about two strong channels to watch playing either a church service or true crime. The aforementioned screen door on the lobby level could be an easy fix.Hot water takes more than a minute. The negatives are just a little superficial but with a little tender love and care, this place could be a local gem. Put in some smart TVs. Do a little minor maintenance. I would come back in a heartbeat, just bring a tablet if you need screen time to decompress. A book is also highly recommended.

This is a very old, basic hotel in a good spot. The room was clean but very basic, an old bathroom (circa 1980?), a free standing fridge by the bed, a microwave on top of a small table, no coffee in the room. Towels were odd colors and the loo roll was resting on the towel rail:) They did offer hot water and coffee sachets on reception, but said they don't have any milk or cream - pretty much sums the place up.

I’ve stayed in many hotels in all price ranges in the area. IMO best value in terms of location and accessibility if outdoor sports such as kayaking biking beach volleyball and sunsets + not many places you get private patio. Have stayed many times and will stay again.Nearby activities: Beach ?️ Volleyball ?Kayaking and SUPNoteworthy details: Cheesecake Factory is next door

Definitely felt at home here, clean room and excellent access to local spots and the beach. It can get a bit loud, but was a great location to sleep at. Blyth and crew were great!

I was not even a guest at the Foghorn Harbor Inn, but was stuck after flying in to LA while I waited for my actual place to be ready. I took a taxi to Mother Beach, but needed a place to hunker down for a few hours. Blyth and Margaret we’re so gracious, inviting me and my little dog to linger in their lobby for as long as we needed. THIS is what the world needs more of - thank you, wonderful people, for helping out this woman and her dog!Food & drinks: Cheesecake Factory is right next door, with a fabulous patio on the beach (fire pits, cabanas, you name it).

IMO, you really can't find better value for the price anywhere around here. Sure, it's a little old, but it has a classic beach-vibe and, if you get a room overlooking the Marina, a view that is tough to beat even at the most expensive hotels in the neighborhood. There are loads of great bars, restaurants and shops within a few minutes walk. Free Parking. Free WiFi. Very quiet at night. Basically a private beach out the back door.

Our stay at Foghorn Harbor Motel was like a sitcom with a laugh track missing. On the bright side, we had a stunning view of the harbor, a bed cozier than a bear in hibernation, and the joy of free parking - the real MVPs. However, the morning shower was an Arctic adventure since hot water decided to play hide and seek. The A/C unit had commitment issues, turning on and off like a disco light every 30 seconds, making it a sleepless night of rhythmic frustration. The a/c grill's fashion statement was lint couture - a haute mess. Forget about finding a tissue; the room was a Kleenex desert. The TV was stuck in a time warp, offering channels that seemed more nostalgic than relevant - I half-expected a black-and-white sitcom marathon. The furniture ensemble felt like a rejects reunion from a second-hand store or a garage sale, creating a decor mishmash that even eclectic enthusiasts would question.Trying to confirm our reservation turned into a game of phone tag, with calls perpetually diving into the abyss of voicemail that claimed it hadn't even bothered to set up its own life. Foghorn Harbor Motel, where the view was grand, but everything else felt like a comedy of errors.

Delightful little gem of a hotel in beautiful Marina del Rey, CA For the price you get a 5 star location. The staff is very friendly and professional. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The location is walkable to many restaurants and beach access. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting an affordable hotel on the Westside of Los Angeles. My stay was wonderful without breaking my budget.
