The Belamar is my go-to whenever I’m in town. The location is perfectly situated near the beach, restaurants, and shopping. The rooms are so comfortable, especially the beds which are always very clean which is one of my biggest things when choosing a hotel to stay. I can’t say enough about the management and customer service. They’re always so accommodating!

Room was very clean. The service was top notch! The valet was quick and friendly, check-in was fast and easy, the young lady at the desk was pleasant and answered all my questions. Had some cold refreshments at the bar upstairs and the bartender was very accommodating. I will be back!Noteworthy details: The ambiance is unique and very visually appealing.

My friend got boneless wings and nacho fries and it made the whole room smell like that. The staff were so courteous and kind, as were the valets! The water pressure wasn’t the greatest, but it was in the safest neighbourhood with the nicest beds on earth.

Keep an eye out! They charge a deposit of $100 per night that is not returned until 30 days later. A shame.

Place is nice. Room is great, better than expected. Front desk check in experience was professional and welcoming. Second Story bar/restaurant isn’t what the marketing language describes, but the service was also professional and welcoming. Some appetizers were suitable and met expectations. The only thing, and a pretty big thing, was the awkward, aggressive and completely unwelcoming valet guy. We parked in obviously marked and labeled “15 MIN” spots opposite the entrance, walked past the occupied valet stand into the foyer, and checked in at the counter - totally normal. During check-in we were informed that parking costs $25 per day, no valet mention, and proceeded to complete securing incidentals and got the room key and directions to the room. Then went back out to said temp parking spot, hopped in the rental and parked in an open spot like 125’ from the entrance, in the dedicated parking lot. Grabbed our bags and walked back to the entrance. It was only at this point that the same steward of the valet stand aggressively informed us that the parking lot is “valet only” and said he could now “take care of the vehicle” and asked for info and keys. I asked for how long this “valet only” protocol has existed as I recall the website describing ample self-parking. Was told “about 2.5 months”. I suggested they update the website and inform front desk as we were led to believe self parking was fine/encouraged and had not been informed of the “valet only” rule at check-in . Got a response of “well all I can do is tell a manager and they don’t exactly care”. Cool. Thanks for the warm welcome. Here’s my keys and can’t wait to see you tomorrow. Never met such an off-putting valet guy. Let alone the terrible welcome to the place. Who is this guy and why’s he here bumming me out after a long day of travel and work? Where’s the hospitality? And if it’s valet only, why did I get the luxury of parking however far away and the added experience of carrying my bags back to the entrance while this guy just watches before accosting me? If I’m paying for valet service, why am I doing all the work and then getting attitude?

We had a nice experience here. Very clean room and great location. I wish there was not a mandatory $25 valet fee per night but the guys were nice. The upstairs bar was upscale yet oddly empty on a Sunday night but we came after MNF so maybe that’s why. Front desk staff was inconsistent in terms of friendliness. This is a Hilton property so a great place to use your points!VictorB

After having driven by this hotel for many years, my wife and I had the opportunity to stay here for weekend visiting family. It's a great location, on the edge of Manhattan Beach, close to LAX (10 min.), and across the street from great shopping and restaurants. While the hotel is older, it's décor has been updated. Only downside is that the bathrooms need remodeling and updated (old tub showers, but one of the few places in CA with great water pressure!). The staff was super friendly and accommodating, including the valet service. On site full restaurant and bar was very convenient and also provided very good food at a reasonable prices. Restaurant service was great too--prompt and friendly. Definitely recommend for the convenience and great service!Rooms: Big (for LA), comfortable, updated. Could use bathroom remodel. Everything was clean.Food & drinks: On site Second Level restaurant was very good with great service!

Great and very friendly Staff! Clean and boutique like feel. I loved having a balcony to sit outside. Very close and convenient to everything you need! Definitely will be staying here again.

I was expecting more. The hotel in general had a very humid smell, the bathroom could use a complete refurbish, they only had valet parking, and they will definitely charge you $3 a bottle for water even if you are a member of Hilton rewards. The check-in staff was friendly and the valet staff did a nice job of having the car ready in the morning.

$25 valet parking required. Apparently, the valets use the car alarm (single beeps) to find the vehicles as they work through the shift, even at 2am. Rooms are eclectic and interesting, even having a turntable as part of the furnishings. Mine had a leaky toilet, which filled every 4m 35s, guaranteeing no sleep for me.

I checked out asap and went to another hotel. I was made to feel unwelcome. I called and arrived early to confirm my check in however when i returned for check in i was told my room wasn't ready. I noticed many other guests were being checked in, and so did the manager. She provided two drink ticket vouchers with apologies for forgetting to put a priority on our standard King room for check in since we called early. More importantly the room was extremely humid. Black mold was visible over the bathroom door. Mildew on the tile grout of the shower/tub. A large area of rust around the steel tub handle/tile. The carpet was moist from the humidity. The door required to be open after showering. The a/c was obstructed by the built in structure around it making it very slow to cool. Generally no ventilation at all.

Location is great only a few miles from LAX. Very easy to get there also everything you need is really close by. The hotel itself doesn’t really have a place to relax outdoors and there isn’t a garden view…only a few trees. The bathrooms definitely needs to be renovated. They’re extremely small and quite old which means they have a shower & tub combination. I had a large suite and was very disappointed with the bathroom situation. Probably not the best hotel if the bathroom is important to you.

The valet guys are AMAZING and the front desk is always very nice. Nice place to stay, only thing is it is old and musty. Found some mold on my comforter which was super gross. Bed sheets and comforter were interesting too, there was nothing covering and hiding the down which is pretty much never washed. Overall okay experience, great location and great people. Weird dolls though

Recommendations for the Hotel if within Budget:- Update the hairdryers to a slightly nicer tier brand.- Switch cable provider: allow hotel streaming services for HBO max or a better cable service with a guide that doesn’t auto scroll slowly.- Replace trash bins to include recycling if you all are trying to be more sustainable.- Not sure if the water pressure is purposely set to be low for California water usage reasons but switching the shower heads to be better on water pressure without using so much water. There are some sustainable options out there.- Keep the record station in the lobby more tidy. Make sure the vinyls are in their sleeve, etc. Lot of them are damaged and poorly taken care of.- Add instructions on how to handle the vinyl and use the record player—some people at the hotel expressed not knowing how to use it.- Switch out the doll poster art in the hallways, it’s creepy, not really sure how they fit in with the theme of the hotel. The frames are a little gaudy and bulky.
