I'm looking to purchase my first firearm, and would like to know what kind of selection does madera firearms carry, I'm 5ft.2in. So I was wondering what model would be good. Any suggestions ?

Came here last Saturday and needlessly to say I was impressed. This was the shop where my son frequently went to so I came here after my favorite gun shop closed down. The items here were reasonably priced and the staff were very kind. I would definitely come here again.

These guys are great!! They have a great selection and fantastic prices. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. My wife bought her first gun here and they walked her through everything. Helping her make a choice that was the right fit for her and explaining the process step by step. Their inventory of ammo is always well stocked. If you need modifications done or looking for something hard to find, this is definitely the place to go. For those of you in Fresno, it is absolutely worth the drive.

Horrible customer service! My husband was supposedly put on a “list” for a new gun. Since then they have posted two on their social media but never called him to let him know they got some in. On top of that they do not return your calls or messages. I would not recommend this place to anyone unfortunately. I would suggest zaks guns in madera or brecco in Clovis. They make their customers a priority.

The staff at Madera Firearms are very knowledgeable about all firearms and California law. I have been very happy with the service and highly recommend them whether you are an experienced gun owner or complete beginner. I also believe they offer CCW classes and handgun training! Thanks for all your help guys.

They are excellent when you need to buy a pistol, but any follow up is pretty poor. I know guns are selling like crazy, but people remember service after the sale. :-|

After visiting other gun shops in the area, I went to Madera Firearms because I was trying to get my first handgun. The gentlemen at the store were very friendly and treated me like family; they answered all my questions and helped me to select a gun based on what I wanted and not what they wanted to sell. They went above and beyond to make the whole process easy and smooth. Steve at the counter even set aside some ammo for me so I could get it when I picked up my new gun. It's also worth mentioning that they don't have a limit on ammo at this time like other stores.Lastly, after talking to the gentlemen, I found out the store is now under new management, so I encourage anyone who had a bad experience before giving them another opportunity.

I am giving 5 stars based on a phone call -- they answered my question. Having said that -- I wanted to post the transfer fees they quoted me because I couldn't find that information elsewhere. $150 fee to transfer a long gun. $50 fee to transfer ammunition, no matter how much you buy. If you purchase a long gun and ammunition together they will wave the $50 ammo fee and only charge the $150 gun fee.

Thought I'd give another local a try since the last gouging. This time i took it in the shorts again. I'd like to support the small/local shops. Rude service, gouged on ammo and lied to, ammo can be shipped to california to an ffl dealer. I guess some people just are not looking out for people in this small circle just looking to capitalize on this messed up situation. 150 % mark up. Spending my ? elsewhere. Since I found the same exact bullets later that afternoon 1000 rounds for 389.00, you can say what you want. I did buy them at the moment ( fear loss ) I'm just being honest. 400 rounds vs 1000 same price. You told me straight up nobody ships to california, wow. Making things up as you go. tsk tsk shame on you.

I highly recommend Madera Firearms. Doc and the staff are fun, trust worthy, and extremely knowledgeable. They go above and beyond to ensure you are well taken care of. Great selection of firearms and accessories for both women and men. Look forward to doing more business with Madera Firearms.
