Everytime I walk into Summit store I feel like royality, yes the only customer in the house; maybe it's because when I go it's 6AM. Just before my morning bike ride, I grab myself an espresso, lift my pinkee which holds the cup I daintly sip from and enjoy the quite of it all before the hussle and busle of the morning commuters on Summit road. However, if you go for the meats, vegetables, hot bar, sandwiches, eyecandy and/or cold brewski located in the rear of the store, you've hit the sweat spot. Can't say enough good things about the quality of the goods, variety, and the friendly people. Definitely an anchor location in this neck of the woods not to be missed.

When we lived on the summit we absolutely loved shopping here! The butcher counter had great meat, wonderful selection of wine and spirits and their signature seasoning is to die for! I miss that seasoning so much!! Do you do online orders for that?

It's a good store, but as you can expect some of their prices are absolutely inflated in the mountains. But customer service is great good selection at the deli. Expect to pay 20 to 50% more. F J B

I didn't know what to expect from this store after moving in the area but I'm glad I finally went. I heard great things about their sandwiches and decided to try them. The woman who helped me with my order was very helpful and very nice. As she made my meal I had a chance to walk through the store. Came across a few other employees who were also very nice. I ended up with a meatloaf sandwich and a container of what they called Chinese chicken. I thought the meatloaf was okay but the chicken was so tasty and delicious. I'm going back for more sandwiches and will try the other ones over time. I'm not going to leave without the Chinese chicken. Bottom line in my opinion is that the service is great and I will be returning. Worth the time and effort to go there

Great sandwiches, lots of local food options (try the pie!) The patio is a nice option on a sunny day. Their bbq is pretty good too!

Great place tucked up in the Santa Cruz mountains. Awesome meat selection and sandwiches. I love to stop in and grab lunch. The people that work there are the best part. Always super friendly and helpful.

I'm from out of state visiting family and this is the closest store. I will say it's super cute! Buut kinda overpriced. Love the freshly made sandwiches but had my orders made wrong a few times. For me it's no big deal, I can take it off and move on but for someone who might be allergic to what they are asking for it to be taken off that is a problem. For the couple times I've been in the store I can tell they're pretty popular and seem to be very busy a lot of the time. But things like that really matter.

Great stop driving thru from San Jose to Santa Cruz. Decent prices and great selection. It has a lot of character and kind employees.

About 40+ years ago, this place saved my life. Ok, maybe a bit of an exaggeration, but I had left Santa Clara on my new (to me) bicycle, heading towards Lexington reservoir. That was a good ride, but I had more in me, and kept going. I made my way past the lake and onto Old Santa Cruz Hwy and kept climbing up. Maybe I'd forgotten to eat beforehand, but in any case, I was gassing out. Eventually, weaving and dizzy, I pulled up to the Summit Store. I stumbled inside, grabbed a Gatorade and a sandwich and proceeded to inhale it while sitting up against the wall outside. Next thing I remembered was the guy running the store nudging me with his foot. "Son, you might wanna get headed back down, if you wanna get home before dark". I had been OUT for about an hour!! I thanked him, and jumped back on the bike and headed back DOWNHILL towards home. Now as an old dude, I sometimes take the slower route over the hill to avoid the nuts. I often stop in, and although it's grown and changed, it's still a great place to grab a sandwich (awesome deli) or grab a tri-tip to grill later.

We were excited to try the sandwiches and were having a group at our cabin in the mountains so ordered over the phone and picked up $70 worth. One was a vege with NO avocado. When our guest opened her sandwich it was covered in avocado! Thankfully she noticed before taking a bite because she is highly allergic. It was very disappointing because she had nothing to eat. We couldn’t share because we all had sandwiches with meat and she’s a vegetarian. When I called to tell the deli what happened, the man I spoke to was completely unapologetic. No offer of a refund, no “I’m sorry”….just rude. The other sandwiches were ok but I would not go back based on the lack of professionalism.

A fancy, independent country store. You pay to cover the convenience and the quality. There's a nice patio outside to enjoy your deli lunch. Seems very popular with the people on this side of route 17.

So greatly appreciate this store and their amazing food and team are part our community so many healthy and delicious items. Their prepared food has saved us many a time in a pinch, for a treat or when we enjoy the power outages of late and can’t make tasty food at home. Thank you!
