I called Citibank Los Gatos branch earlier today to inquire about opening a checking account for my daughter who has just turned 18 years old. Regina of Citibank Los Gatos branch told me that the minimum deposit balance has to be $30,000 to avoid a $15 monthly service fee. I am writing to FDIC and Citibank New York head office to file a complaint right now. I am also filling up the whistleblower form at Citibank website. Regina of Citibank Los Gatos branch is exactly who and this is exactly how the big banks get a bad name. This is ridiculous, $30,000 minimum deposit for 18 years old girl to open a checking account.

Impossible to get a real person on the phone either at the local branch or through the call center. Round and round in circles if you don't have a standard questions. So aggravating.

If I could give zero stars I would. The Los Gatos branch customer service and expertise in banking is a zero. I waited three days to receive a return phone call which I ended up having to follow up on to get an answer. The explanation I received from the banker is not correct either. I very rarely leave negative reviews however I feel obligated to warn future customers.

capitola office closed and can never get a person from the branch in los gatos office to answer the phone, I called at least 8 times in one day. When you are trasferred to the call center they are so rude unhelpful and they disconnect the call. its impossible to get a human on the phone their automated system is a endless buttons.

the worst bank ever- deleted all of my auto pays and did not even let me know. My mortgage was late, cost me $250 in late fees, my credit score went down. All the autopayments just gone.

If I could give a negative star, I would! My review is not branch specific but Citibank in general. My relatives overseas sent me some money to my Citibank checking account. I transferred that money to my brokerage account upon receiving it because a basic checking account does NOT earn any interest at all. Citi's Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) baselessly accuses I am doing something illegal over such an innocent transaction and forces to close my account! Even after I worked with the local branch to appeal the FIU's decision by supplying them with a long list of supporting documents, the FIU maintains its position. Lesson learned: if you ever anticipate receiving some good money from overseas, do *NOT* bank with Citibank! This is contrary to the general rumor that Citibank is ideal for international banking!

I had a great experience at the Los Gatos Citibank. Susan Moussa helped me remove some charges on my account and changed my account to a type that is a better fit for my banking needs. The whole process took less than 20 minutes and I was treated very kindly. I highly recommend going to this location.

I just visited today to check one of my account. I was a bit worried due to negative reviews but they were very helpful. It was even lunch time but people were there so nice, warm and quick to resolve my issue.

If I could give a zero star I would, I went into his bank June 28, 2021 trying to cash a check a customer wrote to me. I am an electrician, so I get checks from many people all the time. I don't want to open an account at every branch I come across. And sometimes it's not convenient for me to run to my bank to make a deposit and wait for a few days for it to clear. Sometimes I'll need the cash immediately to pay helpers. I wouldn't even mind having to pay the five dollars or whatever they charge to cash it, but now they're saying there's no option at all. What a garbage response... I was told that they do not cash checks for people who are not account holders with them anymore. So you are basically forcing people to either sign up for an account with Citibank or just flat out refusing to cash a note from your bank. You wonder why people give you bad reviews? When did customer service go out the window?
