7/24
I started banking with BOA in S.F. many years ago and cannot believe what is happening to this bank now as a preferred customer of 40+ years.
For a month or so, I was trying to have A. help me with a trust fund name added to all our bank accounts. A. was not answering my emails.
i) So I tried calling BOA many times (no one answered the phone).
ii) I tried making an appointment, but no appointments were available.
iii) I then wrote a review of my experiences and troubles. For the last 35+ years, I have been going to this same branch. Which was fine up until this point, but now the atmosphere at this bank is not a friendly place with the last rotation.
On 7/2/24 I went to the bank.
I looked into the new manager’s office who does not know how to treat people in charge of the branch’s office, and he said “I’m busy with a customer” quite rudely to me - I said no problem being happy. In just a few minutes the customer leaves, and your employee ignores me; I am patient, but he just continues to ignore me and works on his computer; and then finally tells me to enter his office - our son, his dog and I enter his office.
He then starts to speak in a loud voice (emotional thinking and talking). I have to tell him to talk softer since he is shouting and everyone can hear him.
i) This is what he is shouting about “You should not write such bad reviews about BOA, and EXPECT ANYONE OF US here to help you or anyone here basically will not help you” the manager stated (I tell him that is my truth).
ii) He tells me "If you keep doing this no one will help you and you will have to go to another branch". Implying we must not say anything bad about the service and coercing me into not saying anything bad or else I won't be helped. This is a violation of the bank policies you cannot discriminate for writing a review which is a form of corruption.
7/5/24 Today I went to BOA again and while waiting for R, I saw the manager. He looked at me and he just leered at me because I told him exactly what I thought in an email on 7/2/24. We waited a few minutes for R (who works at BOA and ML) to continue to help us with the Trust Fund name on all our accounts. He is an example of a noncorrupt employee who was kind and helpful to us.
A bare minimum standard for all employees should be no corruption. This has been breached. Which is a huge step down in all my 40+ years at Bank of America.
7/11 - Today, I went to the bank for a foreign transaction, and there he was again. He asked everyone in line what they needed and purposely ignored me - as he stated above (write bad reviews and no one will help you). Which means he did use as an employee of BOA as leverage for coercion and manipulation.
Now if BOA refuses to talk to this person unfortunately who was rotated to our bank, we will take all our money and start thinking about another bank.
I reported the above incident to two people so far and a third person today, so let me see if the next time I go to this bank this manager behaves properly and hopefully his supervisor will talk to him and teach him.
I gave Bank of America 1 star due to this employee's manipulative and disrespectful behavior.

The staff of this bank are very attentive and meticulous in their service. They also provided me with Chinese translation services. Thank you very much?❤️

What an absurd transformation this place has undergone! It used to stand as a charming downtown bank, complete with tellers and counters—after all, that's precisely what one associates with a bank. However, those counters and tellers have now been removed, replaced by glass enclosures encircling the building's perimeter. The center has been left entirely vacant and pointless, adorned with somewhat subpar and tasteless furniture—a futile attempt to mimic contemporary bank furniture in the European style. The entire setup resembles a massive car dealership, where salespeople escort you into their compact offices to negotiate deals. This arrangement might be logical for dealerships, given their need to showcase cars in the central area, but for a bank?!?!?!And if not for Bill, a remarkably kind and friendly mortgage specialist who isn't even involved in the bank's teller operations, there would be no one to welcome or engage you within the branch. The most lamentable aspect: only a single (O-N-E) teller for the entire branch. And when that teller required an override, the individual stationed three glass enclosures away had to interrupt their task, traverse the entire expanse of the building, insert a code into the secured lock, proceed another 30 feet, merely to input a password for the transaction. I spent more than 20 minutes there just to make a simple credit card payment.I've resolved to sever all my connections with BofA until they revert to being a genuine bank once more.

I have been using this bank location for years. Not enough tellers. First they opened a business friendly window that gave business owners priority over every day customers. Now they have only one teller for both business and non-business customers. I deposit a monthly check into my daughter’s account. I do not have card access to her account, thus I need to use the teller for the deposit. The waits have been getting longer and longer. Last week I, and other customers, waited in line for over 20 minutes for service. Not acceptable.

I’ve tried calling 5 times for my investment advising appointment. Phone notice says “everyone is assisting customers”.I’d normally have some empathy for a busy business but I know the advisor isn’t busy because he’s supposed to be assisting me… during my appointment. No ability to reach anyone at the branch to be redirected to the advisor. Missed the appointment & can’t come in person because work overlaps with their reduced hours.I’ll be switching banks.

Bank of America decided to use the pandemic as the impetus to shed people. This branch was reduced to one teller window. I don't bank with them but have to deposit rent checks here. B of A is a mess. Good luck finding branches open. But I guess as long as they save money by cutting staffing they are ok with 1 star Yelp reviews!

Bizarre. 30 minute wait. One window that looks the cupboard in Narnia. Banking might be a thing of the past.

The times are abysmal. Given my work it’s impossible to access my branch between 9-4. At least some area branches need to stay open until 5 or add Sat hours.

Mrs Cruz is a very knowledgeable associate that helped us with a multiple estate account transfer. She was very helpful in filling out the many papers to process these transactions. We also felt very cared for as we were not shooed off to some large corporate office, portal site or other location. I liked that their manager took the time to expedite and approve all this paperwork quickly. (Heard it can take weeks, we were fortunate to have the staff and the correct documentation to get it completed.)They have a free parking lot with EV stations and street parking. There is a security guard outside. There are 2 friendly front tellers and multiple private rooms for other banking transactions/applications.We really learned a lot and felt the extra care during this difficult and time restrained estate transfer.

How do banks just open when they decide? Sign said 9a. They were opening at 9:30 today instead. Maybe someone was out too late last night, who knows? But as a customer it's just not acceptable. COVID has made everything gray. It's ok to be late, on anything. Does B of A allow us to be late on our car payments without socking it to us? I don't think so. Smh

I would give zero stars if I could. I come here weekly for business banking and there are always 10 plus customers waiting for the single teller that is working. Rediculous. Bank of America does not care about their customers. If you come here, bring a chair and a good book because you will be waiting in line ALL day.
