I love this place and I SO appreciate Art. I will only be going here to get my hair cut from here on out. My last hair cut before I came here was a bit of a mess, so I came to Art with a challenge (to fix some botched side bangs) and he exceeded all of my expectations. He knew exactly what to do, listened to what I wanted, and stayed late to make sure my hair looked WONDERFUL. He is incredibly talented and I left loving my hair!!

I'm a new client and I was very impressed. The space is inviting with plenty of natural lighting. Parking in the rear is convenient, and it's right across from the Kismet Restaurant. Ask for Spindle—they're a recent addition to the salon and beyond fantastic!

Back again a year later! I made the mistake of trying out a different hair salon closer to my new house and I'm so glad I had the time to drive to Art today. This other salon gave me a haircut I didn't like very much and I was hoping Art could somehow fix it. HE WORKED MIRACLES and went above and beyond my expectations. He somehow fixed my bangs that were cut too short by the other salon. He somehow made them look longer ha. And as usual, he cut my layers in a way that actually suited me. If you're thinking about booking with him, just do it!

Art is brilliant with hair and he’s an absolute gem of a human! I walked out looking and feeling amazing— he asked all the right questions and I left skipping down the stairs with the perfect blonde bob. When I left his shop that evening (an absolutely beautiful space btw) I was stopped by two people asking where I got my hair done. Needless to say, they also loved Art’s work ✂️ a true artist.

I had been looking for a quality barber and salon since moving from out of state and the search is over! Art and his shop have a uniquely wonderful atmosphere, it's bright, open, and full of art, plants, & passion. During my appointment Art was attentive and clear on what I wanted done, and once the cut started the conversation was brilliant to top it all off. Extremely happy with my cut and definitely will be back when it's time to color! Highly recommend!

What a great experience! I absolutely love my hair. I went in to this experience nervous and not knowing what to expect, since I hadn’t cut or even trimmed my hair in almost 5 years, and had finally decided to chop it off and start fresh (ended up getting some highlights too which turned out super clean!). Art was extremely patient and kind and asked a lot of questions to make sure he gave me what I was looking for. I’m so glad I trusted him because my hair turned out AMAZING! He made the experience so fun and comfortable with his conversation, good music, and cool art in the salon; truly made me feel at home and eased my worries. Highly recommend for anyone, and especially folks with wavy/slightly curly hair texture (it’s always tough finding stylists who can work with your curls instead of against them) and I absolutely love my new hair!!

I live in SF but make it a point to go out of my way and see Art whenever I’m in town. He always manages to strike a balance between styles and ideas for cuts that I’m used to while pushing me to try new, exciting ideas that always leave me satisfied. Definitely check him out.

Works of Art is a wonderful space! It is whimsy and warm, full of plants and paintings on the wall. Beyond that, Art himself is very attentive and dedicated to hair; haircuts really are works of art here. I have very long curly hair and Art took the time and care to give it the volume and definition that it craved. ??

I arrived at the salon and immediately loved the open space and beautiful large green plants and decor. I had to wait a bit because Art was running behind on a hair project he didn't anticipate would take so long but since I was visually stimulated with all the great reading material and his excellent music playing in the background I was "happily distracted" til it was my turn to be seen. *sidenote: Art gifted me upon leaving with an amazing tub of Mega Moisture Deep Conditioner as a token of appreciation for me having to wait some and I really appreciated that! I spoke with Art about the kind of look I wanted and he immediately suggested a "long wolf cut" and after checking it out online I was excited. Funny enough when it was time to start cutting I started showing some nerves about adding too many layers and Art pointed out that "I couldn't build a hairstyle around wearing a ponytail." Lol!! And he was right! He did an amazing job at my cut and when I got to see it I was so happy I went for it. I can't wait to come back for some more layers in the back and highlights next! Stay tuned! :)

Love, Love, Love my hair. The 5 hour drive was totally worth it. Art is a professional and was able to give me the hair cut and color I wanted. He is super talented and yes I will be coming back to get my hair done with only him from now on.
