Great place to surrender a dog if you have to and a great place to adopt from. They really care about placing dogs in good homes. Shout out to Amanda and Erica for their great work. ?

Posting a review from a volunteer standpoint. If you are looking for a way to give back that involves dogs, this is a great place to start. First steps is to schedule an orientation, then next is a shadow shift (to learn the logistics and procedures). The volunteer coordinator, Candice, was terrific. Very informative and warm and welcoming. They could use volunteers for many different ways, but if you are looking to spend some time with dogs walking or playing with them, you can do so any time you are in the area. They track the hours through the My Impact app, which will allow you to move up to their other dogs that may need additional training or be a bit more challenging to walk. They are closed on Tuesdays, and offer adoptions on the other days, which would make the volunteer dog-walking a bit more hectic at the center. But overall a great way to get involved!

Wags and walks is such a wonderful adoption center. Facility is very clean and staff were all kind. The adoption team were incredibly helpful and patient with us during interview and meet and greets. Though we were not able to immediately find the one for us and adopt, the adoption team kept in touch and provided updates.

Waited 2 months after attending an orientation to be a foster family but haven't heard. The staff at the orientation expressed urgency in finding foster families. Very disappointing.

Why are these poor dogs locked ? in glass doors they can’t breathe, they need to have a big room with toys and outdoor space so they can play with each other! This is animals cruelty, in many countries dogs ? and cats ? walk around freely!

The staff and volunteers at Wags and Walks give all dogs the utmost care. They spay/neuter. They train. They fully get to know each and every dog. And they love them. The dogs all get the best opportunity to find the perfect home. They take the time to match adopters with the dog to maximize the success stories. Adopt here. Volunteer here. Donate here.

Just wanted to update my review with new pics of the cutie that made my life whole ! If you're looking for a loyal life companion consider adopting. Best decision ever ! He just got neutered and the center really kept up with us on his appointment. When the time they made it so easy to drop off and his meds, everything was already covered. He's everything I prayed for ! I take him everywhere with me - he loves the park and his walks. He's very smart and the most loving pup. I'm the luckiest momma! If you're considering adoption please apply at Wags and Walks. I can't thank them enough for bringing so much happiness into my home.

I feel that the adoption process is excellent. Upon visiting the rescue, you fill out an app. A dog matchmaker then meets with you to coordinate finding the right dog for you based on your preferences and lifestyle and what the matchmaker also believes is appropriate. Then the matchmaker will suggest dogs that fit what you are looking for. If you like her suggested dog, a meet and greet will be arranged where you and the dog can find out if you are a match. If it isn't a match, the matchmaker will keep recommending other dogs until you find the right match. There is no pressure to adopt because the organization is very invested in finding a forever home for the right dog and owner. I adopted from Wags and Walks and had a very positive experience.

Wags in walks is extremely lacking in communication. After spending all the time wasted filling out the application I could t even get a response! I would recommend pupculture rescue. That are extremely friendly and have very thorough communication.

What a beautiful + loving space for these pups! We were super impressed with the team, cleanliness of the facility and of course, happy pups! Our family was able to attend their orientation training to become a volunteer here. This organization does a lot of work and tons of volunteers are helping each and everyday!Today, National Pup Day, we were able to train for our first time. This is called Shadow Shift, where one of the trainers walks you through the daily tasks and responsibilities you'll be able to do, if you choose.First level of volunteering is called "Black Paw shifts". This is where you'll be able to help out with the super easy doggies, so you can gain confidence in all the tasks that they need help with. This helps with getting familiar with the team, dogs, supplies, cleaning, walks and the facility itself. Black Paw pups are easier to walk as they have been trained over time or learned a bit faster than others.Work your way up to "Teal Paw shifts" after 12 hours of volunteering. You can choose to stay with just handling the Black Paw pups too.If you do decide you are interested in Teal Paw shifts, this means learning more about dog-handling and supporting the pups who require more special attention! Teal Paw pups mean they may have never walked on leash before, may be particularly strong, or may not have good leash manners yet. You'll be able to learn more of that.Even though all pups LOVE their walks, there are other ways to volunteer! They also need help with:-Transportation (Taking dogs to/from their vet appointments and picking up dogs from the shelter)-Fundraising (Professional experience is required. Please be prepared to submit a resume)-Video editing & graphic design (Professional experience is required. Please be prepared to submit a resume)Fostering From your help, these doggies get to feel the love and care they deserve. They are also able to heal from any previous trauma and live the rest of their lives in the happiest way possible. If you live in the LA area, come through and visit!
