I've recently fallen in love with this charming brand. It was my girlfriend's eye that led me to step into this store for the first time. The store is bright and beautifully decorated overall. I was a bit disappointed to see fewer clothes on display than I expected, but I realized it was my misconception because when I mentioned the style of clothes I wanted to the staff, they brought them from the clothing racks at the back of the store. They showed me a variety of clothes and shoes tailored to my requests, and all the staff were friendly and always had a smile.I purchased a very charming pair of shoes, and my girlfriend gifted me a wonderful olive-colored bag for my birthday. I plan to continue consulting and purchasing clothes that fit my style regularly from John and Matthew, who I just met this time. They were kind and professional. If you ever come to LA, be sure to stop by this store!

Terrible staff. Mathias is the worst. Do yourself a favor and save 50% and buy it direct from japan via proxy services like vintage concept japan. Why spend double the money here in the US only to be treated poorly by a nobody like Mathias

When I walked by this place in 2017 I thought it was pretty cool. I saw this really cool collared shirt made from dark blue bandannas. I was looking to buy some new clothes since I had lost 100 pounds and I wanted to treat myself. There was guy there who came up to me and asked if I had any questions. I asked about some of the shoes and complimented the aesthetic of the store. I went to the blue bandanna shirt and told him that I liked it and I would like to buy and grabbed it off this arrow. He said "Do you know how much that costs?" I replied "I don't know. 70 dollars?" He said "No" takes the shirt out of my hands and says "it's 1,800 dollars" then puts it back on the arrow. I felt disrespected. It was a good interaction at first but it was all ruined in the end.

Dear Cultural Appropriators, Whilst a stroll through dtla streets to conduct one of my good deeds of the day (i have a daily quota of 4 good deeds, and an allocated amount of 2 bad deeds that i can opt out for the credit of one good deed) Upon glancing into the store windows to see if i can help a fellow human citizen , i was first befuddled first, then angry, skipped sad, and eventually triggered when i saw a heinous case of cultural appropriation. What gives you/y'all the right to exploit Roma gypsy culture of the Moldovan/Bulgarian region for profit by using a an artificial trailer! Shame upon the house or your surname! Sincerely

Place is like a museum, except you can buy it if you can afford it. The workers are hella helpful and knowledgeable about the brand and concept. Been to little cloud in Shibuya and the store in Kyoto. They all have a different vibe. The showroom has tons to look at so just be sure to take your time to take it all in.

A Visvim store in California! I've been to a few locations in Japan and also a few stockists in California, but it was really great to see what aesthetic Mr. Nakamura would bring to his store in LA. First, it's on the side of the beautiful Bradbury Building. This building is worth walking through to get to Visvim. It set the tone perfectly. Walking in to Visvim, I was pleased to see the camping trailer and also a HUGE pair of FBTs (I want to sleep in one). The store is very similar to others in Japan. Staff is very polite and helpful. There is a great selection of clothing and shoes! It's always a treat to admire the craftsmanship and care that is put into Visvim items. While it's pricey, it is a wonderfully made piece of art and something that will last you years.

Visvim popped up on my radar through groups that shared and discussed Japanese fashion brands on Facebook. The brand has gained more attention thanks to being seen on celebrities like Pharrell, John Mayer, and RM of BTS for it's Americana inspired silhouettes and artisan treatments. While a few online retailers sell the clothes and accessories, I was curious to check out the physical location to see and touch the garments in person. It is located on the side of the Bradbury Building - if you face the main entrance with the historic landmark plaque, turn left and go around the corner - you'll find it past the side doors leading into the Bradbury Building. This location primarily offers the men's line and features a vintage camping trailer, old school camping tent, and a large pair of moccasins for decor, all which fit the aesthetic of the brand. Staff were polite and greeted everyone who entered. If you indicate you're familiar with the brand or are a loyal fan, I did notice they were eager to further assist with your visit there. There is a women's line, which is designed by Hiroki's wife - this location has a few pieces that they keep in the back, which you'll have to ask to see. Prices are high on the clothing but you are paying for unique pieces that were crafted with quality materials and artisan finishes. (Also noticed most of the garments are made in Japan versus other countries where the wage labor is cheaper.) Parking can be tricky in this area - if you're lucky like me, you may find street parking, which is metered. There are some lots around the building that you could park in as well. It's a bit of a rougher area of town so it's best to travel with someone else when visiting and be sure to lock or take your valuables with you.
