I've dealt with a lot of pro audio dealers over the years. I've had a few experiences with my "go to" venders in the past that put me and my business in very bad situations, or left me feeling like no one cared about my business at all. Vintage King miraculously saved the day each time.
The first time my usual shop was putting in a special order with a company in Germany and I had sessions booked shortly after the expected delivery date (and being a nascent studio, my gear selection was minimal at that time, so I needed everything I had). As the date was approaching the vender suddenly went dark and after MANY calls and emails I finally got lucky and got someone on the phone. They told me the order somehow never was placed on their end and there was nothing they could do to help me in time for my session! My next call was to Vintage King. Expecting a similar answer from them, I called anyway just in case they had something in stock. They didn't. But they somehow did manage to get the equipment I needed from Germany all the way to LA, and then to Boston in time for my session! I still can't believe it.
I have a few more less dramatic situations that made other venders look less than ideal, and once again Vintage King proved why they are the king of customer service. The first time was no accident. To me their name is more like a well earned title. The only reason I had a few other bad experiences with other shops after VK saved the day was that I ended up getting out of the recording business for about 6 years. I had a few small interactions with a local place (trying to support my neighbors), and another pro audio place that had something in stock that I was looking for. Not a mistake I will make again.
Now building up my home rig for personal use, I had an issue with a demo unit I bought from VK. One phone call and I had an email with the return label. I shipped it back the next day and they immediately send the replacement... NEW! I then had big issues with the delivery (to say the least). I called up my rep Bret and he was already on top of it. He had some info that I didn't which he emailed over before I could even ask. Shortly after that I got a phone call from the delivery driver who then left the package. Bret called 30 SECONDS LATER to let me know he just received the notice of delivery and to let him know if there was any issue. Good luck getting that service ANYWHERE else. Thanks to Bret and everyone else at VK! Call Bret for your new gear, you will be glad you did!

Vintage Audio King has very reasonable prices and great sales and deals. Eric Brody always takes care of me, he's very knowledgable and has always answers kindly from any question I've asked him. He's developed a relationship where I feel more comfortable buying from VK rather than anywhere else.

I made a purchase through Vintage King using one of the 12 month finance plans only to find out that the amount my payments were set to was less what would pay off the item during the promotion period. I was then charged hundreds of dollars in interest and had to pay off essentially the same amount the microphones originally cost up front in order to stop being charged more interest. Be aware of the predatory nature of Vintage King and Synchrony Bank. They will set you up for failure.

We had a great experience here trying out equipment and learning from the staff. Dave was awesome! Very patient with us, and took the time to explain each item we tried. This is a great example of the personal touch. They care.

Been meaning to write this review for a while now. Since I heard Vintage King moved to Burbank they have become my main source for audio gear. They have everything I need, when I need it. My experience there is always good and playing around with all the expensive gear in the showroom is so much fun. My sales guy Eric Brody is super helpful and gives me crazy good deals. He helped me take advantage of the financing options they offer and I couldn't be happier!

I love using the showroom to demo gear. They won't pressure you to make a sale, and won't annoy you with a post-purchase followup call like a certain other retailer.

I am very disappointed in the service I have recieved. I purchased a whole DAW from them, only to have the SSL UF8 fail shorty after a year. This is out of SSL's warranty but well within Vintage Kings. After this happened I spent a bunch more money buying two Avalon units and an Apogee interface. It has now been almost a year and I still don't have any information on my SSL UF8 and it is still not fixed. They won't be getting my business again.

I had an initial bad experience with a new Shure SM7dB microphone I purchased, which got stuck to a new boom arm on it's first use. I was stressed about it for over a week with no resolution on the many options I tried. But then Don Spacht from the Vintage King LA Showroom stepped in and gave me a call. They ended up refunding me the cost of the service repair to get the mic fixed with Shure and that level of customer service was geniunely appreciated. Thank you again Don and Vintage King for helping me out!
