  This review is for the Grooming department at Petco at 1873 Westwood Blvd. I was able to groom my other dogs at home, but my current dog is higher maintenance and needs professional grooming. I wasn't sure what to expect, and was pleasantly surprised with the outcome. My dog is a ten year old rescue with some sensitive spots, but Amber was able to complete all services -- bath, nails, ear cleaning, de-shedding, clipper trim -- with no issues. My dog and I are both happy today and we will be going back.

  Zero understanding of some of the hate for this place. It's a PETCO, they have an average selection of slightly above average pet food and supplies. For a PETCO, this is a very good store. Nice layout, good parking and friendly people working there. They sometimes have amazing deals with sale/clearance items. My dog doesn't care if a holiday is over, it will eat the 80% off and still fresh snacks!Only negative for me is the grooming is overpriced. Sometimes they have deals to make it reasonable but it can approach $90 for a medium sized dog with all the bells and whistles. They do a good job though.

  Was looking for a trustworthy vet and they were able to get my dog in same day for updated vaccines. Staff was friendly & made it an easy visit for me and my pet.

  WORST Petco store I've been to with the RUDEST customer service. At checkout we simply asked if we could order online and then pick up immediately bc of a promotion online, the associate said no. So we asked why, and she said it's after 8pm so it's like STEALING. Like wtf, how is asking if we can purchase online and pickup now equate to freaking stealing. Then a manager came out and explained that they couldn't scan after 8pm which made perfect sense but all the associate cared to say was "that is like STEALING", with the most annoyed face. Literally, as someone who prob spent more than five hundred bucks at petco over the last three months, I do not recommend this petco. TERRIBLE experience.

  yes this place is cool. It's pretty good size. I came in the get my new kitten ( KITTY ) some play things and.a scratching post, catnip toys, a laser to put on the wall and watch my KITTY freak out. LoL I came in on a Saturday and there was a moderate crowd not much. It Seems like they had a pretty full staff of workers.Everybody asked me if there's anything that I needed and I told them ,"no I'm doing great. I'm Just checking out all the stuff" . I ended up getting about 10 toys a scratching post which had a great price. This place is cool. It's my second time in there and It's my new pet store now.The dog section has a lot better selection of things compared to cat stuff.. they have fish and I'm sure I saw birds too. Oh and they have a grooming spot as well So i'm in, I'll recommend this place I forgot to take pictures.

  One of the worst experiences I've ever had.I normally take my dog to get a bath at PetSmart, he has pretty bad separation anxiety so the groomers always try to interact with him and make him feel safe before taking him to the back. Well Andrew F. looked like he didn't even want to be working in the first place. Looked miserable and seemed to not care about my dog's anxiety. Fast forward I get my dog back and he didn't even seem sorry that all he got done was bath him, yes i still received him WET and he still tried to charge $80 when all he did was BATH HIM AND LET ME PICK HIM UP WET. What a fucking joke! This wouldn't have happened if he was good at his job, I've never had this problem at PetSmart. The worst customer service ever. Andrew F.

  Horrible customer service. I was walking around with heavy litter in one hand and a big litter box in the other. Asked for help from what I thought were two associates and asked if they worked for Petco. They were eating in the middle of the aquatics area and checking their phones. They told me not now rudely. Are you serious? Appalled.

  We had a great Vetco experience here. The vet was super nice and my dog got his yearly vaccines here. Super fast service, and no vet fees! Then you can walk around to buy some yummy treats for your dog for being a good boy after his vaccines. Great and friendly staffs!

  This place is such a mess. All the knowledgeable people left and the new employees are a joke. Not sure what are the requirements to qualify to work at the store but it's fascinating how unqualified whoever work there are. When the employee of the store gives you "I'm sorry, don't look at the price tags, that area is very unorganized" where else the customer is supposed to look? Others not being able to answer basic questions about products they are selling? Raise the bar for ppl you hire Petco, raise the bar.

  I made an appointment for my 19lb poodle mix. I went online looked at the estimates for size and saw for my size dog it started at $42. Arrived on time and checked in. I asked about the full groom and was told it was $59. Christian was most emphatic that would be the price but didnt weigh my dog. I said OK and then he said there is a $5.49 charge for shampoo and materials. So that will be $69.98 plus $5.49. His assistant raised her eyebrows and looked shocked. I told him you just said $59.99 plus $5.49. No he said, $69.99 for a small dog. I asked him to show pe a printout of what he will be charging me and he said he couldnt. Bait and switch and Christian is a very surly an tricky character; very intimidating also. I said even your assistant was shocked when you raised the price 30 seconds later!! He thought he could bully me into paying whatever he wanted because I am old and have a foreign accent! Dreadful man. When I told him he made me very uncomfortable he said "well I'm uncomfortable grooming your dog". I said why would you punish the dog because I am questionning your pricing ethics. I said please groom my dog, he needs it, it is 95 degrees and he needs shearing! No, he insisted. I said this place is for the animal not for me, how can you blame the dog because I caught you out trying to cheat me! He said No. I will not have your dog groomed. I spoke to the manager and he said he would speak to Christian privately. He would not allow me to be a party to the conversation. He came back and told me the assistant NOW agreed with her boss! Total cover up! Horrible people. The manager was very pleasant but the grooming is separate and he had no pull. Be sure you know ahead of time what you will be charged ... they are artful scammers!

  The WORST PETCO PROBABLY IN THE WHOLE COMPANY. MY SUGGESTION: Don't ever SHOP THERE Customer service can't be called service. It is horrible and have never experienced anything like this The manager by far is extremely nasty & it is very apparent that he either hates his job, &/or animals & humans as well I ran a retail business and if he worked for me I would have fired him on the spot Rude, nasty & miserable to all the customers that were there or simply ignoring the other customers I wasn't alone in my frustration. I spoke with another woman who said she would never go there again. DO NOT SHOP THERE. THERE ARE OTHER PET STORES IF the company thinks this is ok then they don't care about the customers or their business I wouldn't have given them even one star but you can't post otherwise

  I was waiting for 20 minutes to drop off my dog for grooming. While I was waiting for an available associate to assist me, one of the associates took a call instead of helping me. She and the store manager saw that I had been standing there for 10 minutes and she still took the call. Then when someone finally did help me they told me they couldn't take my dog because he has seizures. Which is fine but that would have been helpful information the first two times I had been there before. I'll just shop at Chewy.com and take him to a grooming salon that's more experienced and organized.

  I went to Petco today and the service was bad. It was slow to checkout at the register. It seems as though whenever I visit this location it is understaffed. I often find what I need, but stock of live crickets seems to be lacking.

  I used to work here as a dog trainer and the reviews about Brian are absolutely right he is the reason I left. Period. A rude and entitled little man who really doesn't think. The entire team left because of him. He's demeanor towards employees was abismal.

  The rudest customer service on the phone EVER!!! You will NEVER see me at your store! How much does it cost you to be nice and helpful to a child with special needs???????
