I attended a LA Opera performance of Puccini's opera Turandot. It was very well done and the performance was superb. I also always enjoy the pre-performance lectures by Maestro James Conlon.

Per their website, The Music Center campus includes 4 iconic theatres, Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Ahmanson Theatre, Mark Taper Forum, and the Walt Disney Concert Hall. It also includes the Jerry Moss Plaza, The Blue Ribbon Garden, and the Gloria Molina Grand Park. All of which are very beautiful places to visit in the Downtown Los Angeles area! I've only visited the Ahmanson Theatre and Grand Park whenever I'm here to catch a musical. They have affordable parking right at the center for a flat $10 starting at 12 pm for a matinee showing or 4:30 pm for a evening showing. Most recently, I was here to catch A Christmas Story: The Musical. Per the usual, the acoustics were fantastic! I definitely prefer coming here versus going out to the Hollywood Pantages Theatre.

Awesome events and location. Always great views and things to do. They recently revamped it. Looks way better!
The stairs light up at night and look beautiful.
There's new and improved food and bar there.
Oh and the shows are amazing. Musicals and Operas and more!

Containing a three theatre complex within the frame of a plaza, the grounds are well maintained.
However, the parking structure underneath the three theatres are owned and operated by a private firm charging an absorbent amount for parking way below sea level that it can take you a minimum of 30 minutes from the theatre to your vehicle!
Also, the paid usher staff lacks knowledge of the running times of each show regardless of which theatre I'm attending.
Since all three theatres as well as Disney Hall are owned by the County of Los Angeles, each theatre saves a group of house seats (prime, aisle seating) for every performance for government officials and VIPs. These tickets are available at no cost to them. It's odd considering they can afford the cost of a ticket based on the high salary...well, tax dollars at work here - corruption!
