Went on a Friday afternoon. The walk there is nice, except for the occasional people that are clearly on drugs. Stay away from them, they do you no harm. The book selection is amazing! The prices range depending on what you are into. They also have a great selection of vinyl's. They have two stories of books, art, and amenities to choose from. I saw people bring their children here too. It is definitely a place to experience. It is also instagram worthy! Lots of people were taking cool pictures! The lines at check out are not long either. They're moving.

I absolutely love this bookstore. I've only been here twice, but think of it often. It's a fantasy of bookstore, with its lovely displays and bookshelf mazes. The last time I visited, there was a spooky book vault. I found a lovely old book titled "The Haunted Bookshop", by Christopher Morley. I bought this along with a couple records. Friendly staff. Decent prices. Great experience.

Love this place. So many options of books to buy from. Nice people to help you find your selection and a range of old-new books that are cheap-expensive!

If you love boiks and reading, this is. Not for you. Last Bookstore is an Instabait spot where the books are props for selfies. Books hold up desks, form tunnels, etc. Feels like two old white dudes donated all the books in the 1990s. The well-written books you want to read and explore are only available to order from the warehouse. After 7 days touring LA area bookstores, this place is definitely the one to skip. It's "Last" because this is the last place you'll find a good book! Try Skylight instead, or Village Well, or Iliad. These stores prioritize books on site over books on a website, and they prioritize readers over selfie-takers.

Love this place BUT I have to give it 4 stars for a very specific reason everyone there is so kind everyone is so helpful EXCEPT the people that work the front guarding the bags right in the entrance !! No thank you no goodbye no common courtesy from the girl SPECIALLY her all straight face and no response other than that love this place everything is always so chill what else can I say. Because of them it's 4 stars maybe hire nicer people to work guarding the bags

A large historic looking bookstore with two floors carrying a wide assortment of books. It looks like it used to possibly be a bank or something because they have these vaults with books inside. There are also some small shops selling rocks and paintings. Parking in the area is extremely hard to find unless you park in a lot.

I love the last bookstore. In my mind it's the first bookstore to go to. You can get lost in this place. Endless books and endless selection. They have shops on the second floor with epic artwork. It starts to feel like an art museum after a while. Highly recommend.

The best location in LA for a great selection of used books and vinyl. Very eclectic vibe. Easy to access via downtown transit. A wonderful place to pass an afternoon and guaranteed you'll leave with some treasures. When I lived in LA 12 years ago, they also put on fiction and poetry readings.

I've been here a few times in the past and have always had a wonderful time. Is vinyl your thing? Rare books? Comic books? Are you a mystery, horror, or autobiography person? Well this place has it all and then some! Come and check out the breathtaking art displays throughout the store and photo ops that make it unique. There are cute shops upstairs that offer handmade goods from small business owners and a really lovely little coffee shop as well. It was so nice bringing my girlfriend here for her first time as part of her birthday date and seeing the awe and wonder of the first visit here in her. I could spend literal hours in here and it still wouldn't be an enough time to pour through everything the store had to offer. It's a very busy part of the city and parking is always a pain, but once you find a spot you will not be disappointed. There are always some characters around, but that's Los Angeles and bookstores for you, I suppose. I can't wait to come here again soon.

This is the most amazing coolest bookstore ever! It felt like stepping into a fantasy world of books. The sheer size of the place is awe-inspiring, offering an extensive selection of used books and records. The unique decor adds a touch of magic to the ambiance, making every corner a delight to explore. If you're a book lover seeking a captivating experience, this bookstore is an absolute gem.

We support our independent bookstores like The Last Bookstore. A place that supports live music and readings.
