Such a cute shop! If you're looking for a unique gift, this is the place to look. The assortment of home goods (i.e. plates, bowls, knives, etc.) all look gorgeous and perfectly crafted. Anyone looking for a useful but also aesthetically pleasing item can find it here. I also appreciate that the tables were spaced out so we were able to push a stroller around comfortably without fear of knocking anything over. In the back left area, it also looked like they served Japanese matcha! Gotta check that out next time.

Korean owned. Very mindfully stocked and merchandised. Beautiful shop and good customer service. I’ve discovered some great German and Portuguese soaps through them. In agreement with the other reviewer who mentioned you might conflate it with other hipster general stores that have the same aesthetic, but the intent behind this store does certainly feel different.

This boutique is incredible. Ever item is meticulously chosen to inhabit each of the beautiful shelves and display cases. From the unique soaps and candles from across the globe to the most robust fabric sheers and frying pans—you’ll find that quality and timeless utilitarian design is often prioritized over atmospheric level prices and overhyped brand names. To make it an even more incredible experience, they also have a curated a part of their store to exhibit and educate on tea making…which from what I observed is fueled by a reverence and appreciation for tradition and really feels to come from a place of humility. There might be other stores in L.A. that initially look or feel like this upon first glance but this boutique is the REAL deal.

The Good Liver is located in downtown LA and is one of the last gift shops/houseware stores left in LA... and it's an amazing one. Most of the things are Japanese, I think..... fine, thin glassware, kitchen tools, and even knives. Everything is highly curated and just lovely. One thing I wish is that they had more barware. Japan makes the best shakers, bar spoons, etc. And they could seek out and carry something that the other shops don't have. They don't really even have a traditional cocktail glass. So sometimes I go and leave pretty quickly as they don't have that much new in. Still a gem. Check it out!

Such a beautiful store that I stumbled upon randomly. I love coming here to buy unique gifts with unique stories. I also just love coming here every once in a while to look around and be filled with the beautiful ambience and products from all over the world. I will be back again and again.

What a wonderful place to find amazing houseware goods from Japan and other places. Beautiful curation. Parking is horrible on the street but there is a paid parking lot just west of their building.

Quite a unique and interesting store of thoughtfully curated home goods. You almost feel like you're walking through a gallery installation of housewares, tools and self-care items.

Products in the store were average. The staff seemed aloof and strange.

My life has been elevated. Period. We enjoyed a tasting of some TRUE, very fine japanese teas. Not at all what you could buy in a japanese market. - Gyokoro (shaded) green tea, brewed in small amounts with incredibly umami flavor. - Matcha expertly whisked. - The best Hoji-cha I've ever tasted. Amazing tea, plus a beautifully curated and displayed store of all things well-crafted. Thank you, Bert.
