TaxPlus has recently installed a suite of security cameras outside their building. While this is not uncommon, and within their rights, they have also enabled a motion-controlled feature that harasses passersby with an obnoxious "You are being recorded! You are being recorded!" announcement, as if the very act of passing in front of their building on a public sidewalk should be met with a suspicious announcement.
Their behavior is entirely inconsiderate to their neighbors. I politely asked them to consider disabling this feature but they rudely refused. I'm writing here to express my displeasure with this local business that has decided to create a social nuisance.
If you want to have a neighborhood where one can walk in peace without being harassed by machines, I encourage you to leave them a review here and on yelp.

They started out strong but fizzled FAST!
I originally went to Tax Plus, because a LARGE number of the people who work in my industry think very highly of Tony Navarro.
He came highly recommended to me. So this year, I decided to have my taxes done by Tax Plus, I was incredibly pleased with the results. Initially, Roxana was incredibly helpful, although she did not seem to be very friendly, she did a very good job on my taxes, and I had zero complaints. I was so satisfied in fact that I thought this might be the perfect company set up my S CORP for me…
So I started the paperwork with Roxanna,
and then I waited…
And I waited…
And I waited…
I knew that I had started the paperwork in March, and tax season was on the horizon, so I did not want to be a pest and bother the staff until after April 18Th (My stepfather was also an enrolled agent for the IRS, so I understand that these dates are very important to accountants)
On the 20th I reached out Tax Plus in order to find the status of my S CORP.
I was told that Roxana was not available, but she would get back to me soon. I never heard from her so I called back the following day. Mia, very kindly told me once again that Roxana was not available, but she would reach out to me again that day.
The remainder of the week it seemed the same. Mia would answer the phone, Tell me, Roxanna was not available, but she was working on it, and she would get back to me soon.
The following week, I tried once again to reach out to Tax Plus in order to ascertain the status of my S CORP…
At this point, no one even bothered to answer the phone anymore, my calls went straight to voicemail, for an entire week! Every time I called, no one would bother to answer, my call would go to voicemail, And the frustration continued! Finally, I decided to call from my office line to see if someone would actually answer the phone, and they did! I was told that Roxana was going to be out of the office until Monday, but someone would reach out to me soon. At this point, it was becoming obvious that the staff was purposely avoiding my phone calls…
But Why?
Had I done something to offend them? Truthfully, I did not know, But if I had, I’m sure someone would’ve said something to me.
if I had done anything that was considered rude, unethical, or unbusiness like… Certainly any company would simply say “sir we don’t want to do business with you” but that wasn’t the case… They just chose to ignore me!
this S CORP is something that is a necessity for my business, this is something that I cannot function without. It’s not something that I can just wait around to get an answer on… Tax Plus doesn’t seem to feel any responsibility whatsoever when it comes to this. I think I would’ve gotten a better response from Legal Zoom to be completely honest.
I think the most frustrating part of this entire situation, is that a number of of my colleagues referred me directly to Tony Navarro as being one of the best accountants in the business, and yet I’ve never met the man, or even spoken to him. They sent me to him directly because of his talent. But I can’t even get past his staff in order to get a face-to-face, let alone a telephone call to explain the status of my account. And THIS is the man who I blindly trusted with my finances & personal information. I feel like a fool, and to say that I am disappointed is a monumental understatement.
UPDATE 05/17/24
After writing this review, Tony attempted reaching out to me a number of times in order to make amends. He asked that I “please give them a second chance” And that he was sure they could make it up to me.
Admittedly, I was reluctant, and took about a week and a half to respond. However, when I did, the shenanigans continued. I called to leave a message at the front desk and I spoke with a young girl name “Josie“ And informed her that I was in fact, willing to give them

Xochilt Corrales is the best tax pro ever! She been my tax lady since 2018 back when she worked at a different tax place. Xochilt always goes above and beyond, so imma follow her wherever she goes. And I have! I ain't the smartest, but Xochilt always explains my taxes so that I can understand why I'm getting the refund I'm getting. Can't say it enough, mah girl here is awesome!! This year she help me navigate filing my taxes after moving out of state. She even made it super easy to connect with her to review my taxes virtually.

They sent me by email instructions to call in on Zoom. I made mistake and sat and waited for them to call me. 1 hour went by, they never called me.

I can't believe how they got these positive reviews. They were extremely responsive and attentive until we started working with them. After we did the contract, they stopped responding to my emails. We set up our account in November 2022 but our accountant didn't work on our account until February. They kept postponing working on our books for a solid 3 months. And when they finally did the journal entries, most were wrong! I switched to another company after that and my new accountant deleted almost all the journal entries they did.

Svetlana Suslova is the best tax preparer I ever met! She went above and beyond with her service helping me not only with current taxes but found errors in a previous year. We amend the old declaration and after multiple mistakes done by the IRS (OMG what kind of disaster is that system!) we finally got our refund!!! I'm so happy

My wife and I are selling her house, now that she's moved into mine. Tony Navarro was extremely helpful, even on a cold call from me, in giving us detailed and sage advice on how to handle the proceeds of the transaction. He's our regular tax guy from now on.

Tax Plus resolved all of my tax issues with the IRS and FTB. Tony Navarro is the absolute best person to work with. He took the time to listen to my tax issues and he understood everything that needed to get done. I can't say enough how appreciative I am for him and his team helping me out of a deep hole I was in by filing all my back taxes. I even got a refund! I highly recommend TaxPlus for all your Tax Preparation, Resolution, and Accounting. I am extremely happy with all there hard work!

I was looking for a new firm to do my taxes and contacted a Jew of them. TaxPlus were one I contacted but they were not very proactive in wanting my business so I went with someone else.

We found Tony back in 2012 and have used him for 10 years now. Total blessing and sincerely an informed tax professional. He's so much more than a tax accountant and I trust him, like we trust our financial planner. 4 years ago we moved to Texas and we still use him and his team - and I wouldn't change a thing. Thank you Tony, Brenda and Izaira for all your help!
