I volunteered at Taking the Reins for one day and had an amazing time. We got familiar a little bit with their program which I think is explained very well on their website. The tasks we got to help with were joyful and out of ordinary for a 9-5 employee like me who spends most of their time in office environment. We got to take out the weeds, clean up and organize their shed and kitchen, remove unwanted bushes and more. It was a great opportunity to help a non-profit organization for a good cause and get to know good people who work there and the care and kindness they put into their daily tasks. They always welcome volunteers so if you would like to have the pleasure of helping a non-profit in a nice garden/racing-track this is the place for you. Bonus, you get to pick and take some vegetables grown in their garden at the end of your visit.
