Too many highly compensated executives. Most could be eliminated without any detriment to the organization. Everyone is very nice but that doesn't warrant the expense.

Ms Acosta's quick smile and hospitable personality quickly remedies the often long security lines at the Federal building. She really makes the member feel that we matter to her. She walked me seamlessly through the unfamiliar process of the business I was there to transact. She is a credit to herself and to SCU. Date of visit 30Jan2024.

I've been a member of Southland Credit Union for several years and have to say that Patricia Acosta the Assistant Manager is so helpful and knowledgeable of all their products. She assisted me with my HELOC loan and the process was seamless. This branch is the best, everyone remembers your name and are extremely helpful!

Banking at this Credit Union is by far the worst banking experience I have ever had. I was a member for over twenty years, mostly because it was the credit union my work used for its employees. They are limited in many ways compared to a normal bank. However, what prompted me to post this review today, in spite of many years of sub par service, is when I tried to withdraw 20k cash from this LA branch. I called in advance to make sure that they would have my money ready. I received a call from the branch manager telling me that they had my money. Yes I told them that I would try to make it in before 2pm but that I might be running late. The branch manager did say that I should try to be there early before they close at 4pm. I was there at 3:40 and they would not cash me out my requested funds because, according to them, they had to fill out forms and that they closed at 4. To be clear they were still open at the time. What other bank refuses to service their customers because they will be closing in 20 minutes? How long does it take to fill out forms to get your own money? When I felt this was unacceptable and asked them how long it would take to close my account they were all too ready to close my account and send me on my way. This shows what little value they have for their customers and added insult to injury. I now have to go and cash their cashiers check at another bank. The whole time their customer service was terrible, condescending and they did not even seem to care that they were losing a 20 year plus customer. Do yourself a favor and find a different place to bank.

I was not surprised to have read all the wonderful comments about the customer service provided by the Financial Services Representative at the Downtown Los Angeles Branch Office. The FSR has extensive knowledge of the product(s), was extremely patient and understanding and most importantly, took the time to follow up as needed. The FSR sets the example for others to follow. My husband contacted Southland Credit Union By referral from a former coworker. As soon Allison Howells began emailing with my husband her personal opinions & attitude began to show display. Her tone in the emails was unprofessional and extremely short. Miss Allison Howells spoke with my husband over the phone because Miss Allison Howells stated she needed further details. My husband contacted her via telephone and gave her the details she was requesting. Miss Allison Howells did let him know that he was approved prior in the email and once again via telephone and gave him the rates and the payments that he would be paying . My husband had contacted Miss Allison Howells once more to ask her a question about applying for a auto loan and that is when she emailed back and stated the once approved loan was now denied. Her tone is the emails were unprofessional and tasteless. Going from approved to unapproved is quite mind boggling but excepted regardless of the financial Details that took place in this situation because Miss.Allison Howells displayed a very unhappy and aggressive attitude which showed that she was having a bad day each and every day that we spoke to her. Unfortunately this carried on into her personal decisions with resending an offer which is understood because of her lack of happiness. I hope that she can get her life back in order to where her unhappiness doesn't flow over to her professional business. After my husband got off the phone with Allison Howells we figured something would occurred due to the obvious sassy attitude she had displayed, obviously we were correct.

Having a credit union near my place of business is an incredible joy. My agency doesn't have a cash machine inside the building (I think they took it away when they got rid of the pay phones). I opened my account when the branch opened and at that time they were offering a special on a short-term CD. Wish they had more offers like that. My checks are generally cleared very quickly, they have a convenient ATM outside the credit union, and I have face recognition when I enter. I have never had any trouble navigating the website and they have reciprocal agreements with other credit unions so I can make deposits at other ATMs without surcharges. It is my primary financial institution for bill paying and I have never had a single problem in all the years I have been going there.

I have been with southland Credit Union for 10 years. I am currently looking for another banking institution that I can trust. I have personal & business accounts With Southland. Back in May 2020 I saw a charge from Uber on my Business account, called customer service and was told that "That's your problem" and you need to call Uber. We are in a pandemic. Uber does not have anybody answering the phones at this time. I asked the customer service rep if she could be of any further assistance to me and handle this on the bank side..Her response call Uber and if you can't get anywhere with them call us back. Why would I bother, you didn't help me the first time I called. Why would I have my money in a banking institution that does not have my back. Therefore, I no longer trust them!
