As a stationary GEEK this was a threatening store to my wallet.The color coded sections are absolutely stunning and the employees were super friendly!!!They have all kinds of pens, pencils, markers, ink, lead, clips, paints, calendars, notebooks, cards, candles, journals, planners and more. It really is a perfect shop.Perfect for anyone who is wanting to get nice stationary items, get organized, or just loves stationary. I restrained from buying too much but the things I got I still absolutely love and use. (Mainly pens and markers because it's my obsession)So worth a stop! Right next to Crush + Touch also!!

went to buy myself a fountain for the first time. the attendant that helped me was so patient and passionate about helping me find what i needed. they are very welcoming and kind ppl. amazing coverage of stationary too

I’m so glad this store is in my neighborhood! They have a great selection of stationery, especially Midori, and lots of Blackwing pencils. They have a decent selection of inks and fountain pens, too.

This pairs perfectly with Crush & Touch next door even though I am aware they are unaffiliated with each which is surprising! At Shorthand, you will find more analogue and drafting tools with a better selection of graphite and paper materials. Nevertheless, the shop is still fun and tactile with plenty of spirit as everything is color coordinated rather than grouped in subjects! So, you have inspiration delivered to you if you are planning out a desk or an office space from scratch. The folks at the counter are warm as they are resourceful and collected in L.A. and they will give you more suggestions for stationary around the area! However, both Shorthand along with its wall-neighbor, Crush & Touch, are just the perfect companions for what you need regarding colors AND analogue materials.

If you are looking for a unique gift or have to have that one special writing instrument then you will find a good selection at this small shop. It's fun to browse and search for that one or more item that you must take home.

What a magical, magical wonderland of pens, paper, erasers, and desk accessories. They even design and sell their own brand of notebooks.Incredible.A fantastic variety and in every color of the rainbow. This place is a must on my trips to LA!

Maybe the best stationary store I've ever been to. The color based layout of the store is a revelation. Excellent products. Prices are a bit on the high side but they gotta pay the tent. I get it.

So lovely. This is my go to spot for when I need a card. Don't mind spending a little more for something so thoughtfully made -- especially in this digital age it's so nice to give a beautiful, potentially commemorative artifact for someone to treasure.
