while pumping gas, I went into the store and asked for the rest room... since im traveling. the night mgr I'm assume. gave me an ugly look and then opened the door. right when I came out he said CLOSE THE DOOR. I said my wife still needs to use it too and he rolled his eyes at me. poor customer service!!!! don't come and support this station.

Like the guys who work here but recently the nite attendant has been shutting down early and goes into the back to sleep I would assume. It used to be open 24 hrs if it was locked you would knock and they would let you in. Then it went to 3am to 5am closed then 2am to 5am closed. Tonight I tried at 1230am and it was already locked up. Lights are on and the attendant is here but he won't open the doors or even come to the window no matter how much you knock and wait. This blows as this was my goto store for late night as there is nothing else walking distance in playa del rey at this time to grab late night snack or cigs etslc. Please start allowing customers to shop again throughout the nite at least at the window. Stop being lazy!!

This place to say the least is trash! I needed some air for my tire and I have been here many times before to get air and have them check my tire pressure and it was free. However this day was the worst. The two managers said we have to charge you $10 to put 3psi of air in ONE TIRE! That is insane. Then when I called him out on it the heavyset guy said hey you drive a nice car you can afford it. Crazy that someone would just charge just because. But in a attempt to soften the blow the skinny manager said "I'll just charge you $5 when he walks away". Now one would say I should have been happy. But I was not..... why?? Because these people make up prices as they go and it's nothing posted! They should be ashamed they handle business like that! Completely fraudulent management!!! I will never deal with those two again!

Friendly staff and great Gas Station location. A huge variety of drink and snacks available. Whenever I pass by the area I make sure to stop by and get something to hydrate or snack on.

I have been taking my BMW and my wife's Lexus to Maurice Messih for the last three or four years and what a fantastic discovery to find a mechanic locally who is so honest, fair and communicative. They do fantastic and thorough work here and their prices are fair as well and I like the fact that often he has shown me the part(s) that he might have replaced and what had gone wrong with it. How many mechanics do you know that will give you their cell phone number and get back to you in a prompt manner? I have never met one but Maurice is unique and consistent!! Thank you again Maurice, Jerry and Playa Vista Shell as you really make the community shine and that's "the kicker!!"

SUMMARY: I lost $690 plus more on car repairs that never worked. Problem was never fixed. But car was delivered as fixed. Later on owner asked me to take this car to Lexus dealership for repairs as he was not authorized for such repairs. No refunds. I asked for only half of refund that was strongly denied as totally unfair demand. This never happened with me that I paid for service that was not delivered. Generally, repair shop always help customers and share financial aspect. If shop was truthful and contacted me that the problem was different than originally thought then I could have saved on $400 plus on new parts. I would have gladly paid their full labor and given 5 star reviews. Shop owner/manager did not honor his words or warranty promises made to me to get my car to his shop for repairs. This shop could be just an oil change shop that takes on repairs they can NOT do but they won't refund customer's money and may end up doing damage to the car for lack of experience or focus (handling several different businesses at same location) . This shop did not provide any written documentation for diagnosis or warranty or repair details that other shops provide. So, there is a lot of room for change of story or miscommunication. DETAILS: One cylinder on my car started misfiring on start and at stops. I was recommended to replace all 3 ignition coils and spark plugs on back side due to high labor cost of$270 to reach that part of engine. Shop charged me more for parts and less for labor. Shop charged me $90 for 3 spark plugs..... Lexus dealership sells 3 spark plugs exact same part number for $45 and Auto zone for $36. (Note: Car had 194,000 miles on it and five body panels needed paint and minor dent repairs from a recent incident with $5000 plus estimates for repairs. ) So, I was not ready to spend more than $500 on new mechanical repairs. It was better for me to sell this car to salvage yard for parts. I finally sold it to salvage yard after wasting $690 with this shop. Shop owner sort of sucked me into his marketing pitch with promise of 12000 miles/12 months warranty. He told me, in his 29 years of car repairs experience, he has fixed 100s of cars with this problem. I thought okay if car would be surely fixed then I can sell it to private party and recover my money. Shop never honored their words and warranty assurance given to me that led me to believe that car would be surely fixed. This is where the whole problem lies with this shop on this incident. The shop was focused to get my car for repairs but did not pay any attention what if they could not fix it or problem turned out to be different. The shop knew they would never refund my money so they were good to go ahead with repairs at my risk and my money. They also collected my money by lying that car was fixed. Later when I called to tell the problem re-appeared...misfires is reported only after certain counts. So, if shop clears everything from computer memory by removing battery for more than 30 minutes. Misfire will comeback as reported in a few days or after 5 or more miles. Owner asked me to bring back car. He claimed that he spent 6 hours of labor in trying to fix this car. Shop told me the problem seemed to be PCM (no diagnosis of PCM, just assumed everything else is good) and advised me go to Lexus dealership which would cost me $2000 plus. I later learnt from web research it could be easily several other simple things including bad and faulty repairs. Shop charged me another $105 for this trip but refunded later on after much discussions and arguments. I never approved this charge. Later after my experience with this shop, I called other shops in same area to check out. They were truthful, no shop assured that problem would be fixed for sure by replacing spark plugs and ignition coils, and correctly guided me to carefully think before repairs. They advised me the problem can also be different and can be very costly for repairs running into thousands of dollars. I came here yesterday to rent a U-Haul cart for my move. Ryan was 15 minutes away but called one of his guys to let me have the cart early since he knew I was on a time crunch. He later texted me and called me to make sure everything was OK. Affordable, convenient, and If his customer service is this good for a seven dollar cart, I can imagine what it is for his other services

It's nice to have a neighborhood shop that specializes in makes like my Abarth. Thank you, Maurice for your consistent communication and for being receptive to feedback, ensuring I was happy with my service. I asked Maurice to install a hitch on my new Lexus SUV that I had purchased online at eTrailer.com because Lexus wanted 4 x more for the hitch. Maurice installed it and was so gracious about working with my since he hadn't installed one before. This is the second time I've had work done at Playa Vista Shell and it both times I would rate it 5 stars.
