Survival wouldn't exist for many people in the heart of Los Angeles if it wasn't for such an amazing group of hardworking men and woman in our community that come together EVERYDAY and EVERY NIGHT to ensure the health and welfare of OUR people. The ones keeping the economy secure and our lands from being overtaken. The ones doing the jobs that are so dangerous that many lock themselves inside their home instead of getting involved. Security and connectivity. Bringing each other together for the longevity of it. For community resources and the help of coalitions the Salvation Army goes above and beyond to ensuring that those without a home are still protected and are still able to survive until the resources they need to get on there feet become available.

An absolutely useless organization. It probably only works to launder money and not to help people. I came here to talk about the shelter, but it is closed during business hours. There is a bell button next to the door - I rang it until I got tired of doing it. But no one opened the door.

The Negative reviews here are BS. The Salvation Army is one of the best charitable organizations that exist. I have volunteered here for enough time to see its strengths and weaknesses. They have to have policies in effect in how they except donations, help the disadvantaged and distribute the help from their food bank to housing to helping people get back on their feet again. This is Hollywood. There are homeless encampments surrounding this campus. If they didn't have the policies they do they would be overwhelmed and wouldn't be able to help anybody. The Pastors who lead here have given their oath to God to help others and do not discriminate. Fridays 9-12 is a food bank for seniors Saturdays 10-2 is a food bank for families. There are multiple programs for meals, drug addiction, housing, single moms ect. I volunteer there because it's easy to see how much good they do for the community and I'm happy to be part of something so great.

Hello,People come everyday with questions about food, donations, services.Food Coalition give out dinner Mon-Fri at 6:30pm.Access center for homeless referrals and information is Mon-Thur at 8:30am-12:30pm; 1:30pm-4:00pm & Fri at 1:00pm-4:00pm.Food Bank opens to Elders Fridays at 9:00am and Saturday to Families at 10am.
