Great selection of cactus with great prices. The gals who run it are so sweet. It's my daughter's favorite place to go explore. We found a great variety of plants that still are alive today which is always a win. They also have cute planters but def need to follow them on IG when they get the best ones. Their bead earrings and patches are cute too.

Great visit to this wonderful spot. Got a beautiful selection of 4 succulents. The owner was incredibly friendly and helpful in helping me choose an assortment to plant later as a gift. Will be back soon to get myself a gift as well. What an amazing find in my neighborhood. Great prices and wonderful vibes. Thank you!

I'm disappointed whenever I go somewhere to try to buy succulents- always $3 and up, and never properly taken care of. This place is open two days and it's just two lovely ladies gardening together for two days, selling their succulents. What I love about RGS is that you can find really great things if you know what you're looking for and aren't just showing up to purchase a pre-made arrangement or pots. Their succulents are propagations and most of the time you can find pups and lots of $ .49 save-a-plant deals where you can spend a few quarters taking your current skills to see if you can salvage. Lovely place!

The workers at Rusty Gate are truly phenomenal and amazing people! They take their time with each customer to create succulent arrangements that are beautiful!! They are so sweet and caring. And were very helpful to someone who is starting out as a new plant owner! Between the fantastic workers and the wonderful selection of plants this place has quickly become one of my favorite family owned shops in east LA! Truly would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for succulents to complete their home.

This is a great small business to support. They have a unique selection of second hand items that changes from week to week. I've bought bird feeders, kinetic mobiles, floral frogs, hose nozzles, gardening tools, shears, plant stands, and horse shoes to use around my garden. Aside from the large selection of hardy and healthy plants available for purchase, staple items include soil, pumice granules, tree roots, small to large ceramic pots, patio furniture, knitted blankets, decorative knickknacks, and even plant themed jewelry. Whoever stocks this place has a great eye. My favorite section is the "save-a-plant" box with struggling 2" succulents you can attempt to coax back from the brink of death for .50 each. No succulent left behind! Their potting service encourages customers to mix-and-match new and pre-owned items: bring your own pot and buy a plant with soil, buy a pot with soil and bring your own plant, or even bring your own plant and pot and pay for just the soil! The staff is also knowledgeable on how to care for the plants they sell, and are super friendly to boot. They're only open a couple days out of the week at the moment, and they usually close when it rains (which is not very often in sunny LA). They do a great job of posting hours for the week, unexpected closures, and new items on their Instagram profile by the same name.

Came across this place on IG & it was 7 minutes from my house I've passed here countless times on my way to Costco & Home Depot...good selection of the usual succulents which you can get baby, medium, & some a bit larger...also cacti but I'm not much of a fan of the spiky bois however I was almost swayed by the extremely baby tiny spiky bois on the checkout table in teeny terra cotta pots...cute selection of table mats, porcelain & metal cups & other odds & ends, also tin signs...I would've stayed a bit longer but it was sprinkling on Christmas Eve they opened 10-4

Large selection of succulents. Very pricey. I saw the same plants at another nursery for half the price. 2" succulent plants were $1.99 each. I saw the same plant for $1.00 each at another nursery. The staff was not friendly at all. We were the only customer and no staff approached us. No greeting, no one asked if we needed assistance, nothing. We had $100.00 in our pockets to buy succulents. We left with our $100.00 and went somewhere else. Guess they didn't need our business.

This place is the best and locally owned and operated by 2 lovely sisters. Full of beautiful plants of different sizes and well priced pots in assorted shapes and colors. If you pick out the plants and a pot they will arrange them for you, same goes if you bring in a pot and buy the plants there. They also sell beautiful arrangements they have already put together and assorted knickknacks; I always go here when I am looking for a gift or to treat myself. I'm so glad this place opened back up. We more small businesses like this!
